Sol Vestitor: New Age of God - Chapter 177
“Sol, there is another Spear!” Nai warned as another giant stone spear flies toward him.
He was busy trying to block the rain of stone arrows and he could not use both of his arms. The petrification was still spreading.
“Damn it! I can’t get rid of this thing! Not even cutting an arm or two works, If I don’t do anything then I will be turned to a stone statue!”
He conjured a thick block of sun ice to block the incoming spear, but he did not stop there, he knew that the spear would pierce it.
He conjured a giant ball of flesh behind the ice block. Once the ice got pierced, the spear continued toward the flesh ball.
Sol had especially created the flesh ball to be as flexible as possible. He made it just like a bullet-proof vest; it hinders the spear’s movement once it gets inside.
It stopped midway before it could pierce the flesh ball, but it did not take long for the ball to turn into a boulder.
The petrification spread was faster than it did to Sol’s arms, within two seconds it already spread to every corner of the flesh ball,
“Fuck!” he could only curse as he can’t fight without his arms, Sol conjured a rain of spear and sword as well, but the demigod could dodge each of them with ease.
“Long-range attack is useless, he can predict them, I need to fight him on melee but if I get closer than he will hit me with more of his conjured weapon, it will be bad if more of my body get petrified,” he lamented as the petrification was still growing.
He tried to freeze his body, but it only slowed the petrification, it was still spreading and it’s only a matter of time before he turned into a stone statue.
Let’s try that. He gritted his teeth before he cut off his own head and conjured a new body in its place.
Both of his arms were back to normal, but it did not long before they started to turn into stone once more, they spread faster than before.
“Shit! What kind of sick ability is this? He possibly is the strongest minor demigod ever!” he complained.
Of course, he did not know that the demigod’s power had gotten a major boost after sacrificing a lot of his friends.
Before the power-up, his power should not be able to petrify Sol’s hand that fast, nor should it be able to pierce through his healing dome’s power.
Now that it grew stronger, as long as people got affected by its power, it’s only a matter of time before they got turned into a stone statue.
“I hope this works,” he conjured a large dome around him. He layered them with all of his ability before Sol stopped conjuring things and concentrated inside.
He went and broke a wall inside him, and purple lightning and ice fog started to appear around his body. He entered limit break mode.
The purple lighting seemed to slow the petrification to a stop, but it did not return the body part to normal.
But there was another problem occurring, the purple lightning was eating his body, it burned him and his enhanced regeneration healed him at the same time.
The giant mode and the limit break mode clashed with each other and created a cycle of healing and destruction.
Slowly, his body was turning back to normal. While he was in agony, it did not help that his barriers were starting to crack.
“shit there is no time!” he cursed as he got out of the limit break mode and conjured a new body that was not in giant mode before he returned to the limit break mode.
The petrification stopped at his wrist when the purple lightning returned; he broke off the petrified part so his regeneration could start.
“Damn, as soon as I get out of the limit break, the petrification is back!” he cursed.
At that exact moment, his barrier got pierced by another spear. It went directly toward his head, but Sol could see it clearly; it seems the purple lightning could eliminate whatever made him unable to see it.
Since he could see the attack coming, he expertly dodged to the side before he used the hole made by the spear to come out of his own barrier.
Sol was not able to conjure any weapon, so he was unarmed. He summoned Nai to his hand but rather than a knife appear on his hand; he felt the knife’s cold hand. She was in her human form.
“Nai, turn to a knife, you will be more useful as a weapon!” he told the knife.
“But, I want to fight too!” she protested.
“you are fighting as well, even if you are a knife, you always are! Now do as I say!” he barked.
The snow-white body solidified and compressed into the knife’s actual body, soon a crystal knife appeared in his hand.
A lot of spears and arrows come his way, but since he could see them, Sol could parry them with ease.
If there was anything too big for him to block, then he would dodge them with his superior speed. Without the limitation of the demigod’s ability, Sol was unstoppable.
He ran toward the man with the knife in hand; the man seemed to realize that his fate was set in stone as he tried to run.
Having a predictive ability was great, but when you could see no escaping death, then you will be in despair.
“No! Stop! The God of Prophecy will get you for this! Not only you but your family and friends! No one can hide from him!” the man tried to threaten him.
“Bullshit! The new God already after my family! This is the price that they need to pay for going after my family!” Sol angrily said as he threw Nai at the demigod.
He dodged to the side, but that gave Sol enough time to arrive by the man’s side. He captured the man by his throat.
Stone swords appeared around him and stabbed his body all over, but Sol ignored them. He looked at the man icily as he summoned Nai once more.
The knife glimmered as Sol cut the man’s chest open, but that did not kill the man, Sol knew he needed to use the knife sparingly because of its new tendency for blood.
He let go of the knife and used his hand instead. With a quick move, he punched the man’s rib cage. It got shattered by the blow.
He reached toward the man’s heart before he yanked it out of its place. The heart was still beating unstopping, but the man could only look in horror as Sol crushed them in his arm.
He tried to stop him by stabbing Sol all over with blades and spears but he did not flinch, Sol had felt pain far worse.
“Threatening my family is the only thing I won’t forgive, whether you are a god or a mortal, I will pull your heart and crush them in front of you!” he remarked.
Suddenly he could feel a higher power observing him. He knew it was the god of prophecy. He looked at where he sensed the man was.
“You just wait! I will come for you next! You and all the other new gods! I will find you and shatter your heart! Just like I did to your man! If you are brave enough, then come here and fight me!” he taunted.
But there was no divine punishment coming down at him, the god could not risk getting found by the major gods.
Jupiter and his people were out to hunt the new gods for their rebelling behavior, if they took action then they would have a dozen angry major gods on their heels.
The god of prophecy was not even a major god-like Deus, there was no way he would risk fighting a major god just to kill Sol right there and then,
“Pfft… Coward! You just wait until I finish all of your pawns here! I will find you and it will be your turn!” he continued to taunt, but there was nothing coming for him.
After a while, he lost the feeling of someone observing him, Sol could only sigh, “I was too hopeful that he would come out and get killed by the major gods.”
He tried to get out of the limit break mode and luckily; the power afflicting him went away with the demigod’s death.
“Now that I think about it, beheading myself and making a new body has become a habit, I even lost count of how many times it happened. Even though I promised to never do that again,” he lamented.
The pain had always been his companion in his path toward godhood, but it seems the intensity of it kept increasing the stronger he was.
“If I even become a god, I might be a god of pain,” he said jokingly to himself.
