Sona, A Goddess Queen In A Modern World. - Chapter 10
When Sona saw her own mother in that state, she began to feel anger towards the person on the other side of the line.
“Do you really think it was my fault? You’re a monster! That’s why your ex-husband couldn’t stand you.” Madison screamed angrily and hung up the phone when she started hearing the screams from the phone speakers.
When Madison turned with a cold look of anger, she saw Sona standing at the door of the room and quickly opened a smile and ran to hug her daughter. “Hi, my love, how was it there?” She asked.
Sona didn’t answer and seriously asked Madison. “Who was on the phone?”
When Madison heard her daughter’s question, her face wavered a little, but quickly returned to normal.
Sona with so much experience didn’t let it go and realized there was something wrong with it.
“Well, we’ve always avoided telling you that, but I think it’s about time. We were afraid of how you would react to this situation, but since I saw that you are maturing a lot, I think it will be better if you know the whole situation.” Madison said with one look -+ calm, but with very tight hands.
Sona subconsciously took her mother’s hands and felt her softening the grip. As Madison intertwined her fingers with those of her daughter’s little hand, Sona said calmly. “It’s okay, Mom, you can tell me, I guarantee I won’t do anything rash.”
Feeling the calmness of her daughter, Madison became more comfortable and began to explain. “Well, daughter, as you know, I was a secretary at an electrical engineering company. One day, I was at the reception and saw a very beautiful man come in, when I looked at him, I felt an aura of a noble person.
The girls described him as the eighth wonder of the world, but to me he was just a handsome man. As I came from a poor family, I couldn’t risk losing my job by flirting with an engineer, so I just focused on my work.
Every day he gave me good morning, talked about the weather, futile things, but never went beyond that. I treated him just like my superior, without favor or anything. And he kept talking to me every day.
Our conversations have gone from just small climate dialogues to deeper things. A few months later, in a very heavy rain, I was without umbrellas and he offered me to share his.
So I wouldn’t get wet, I said yes. That’s when our relationship changed.
We started getting closer, but he never told me anything about his family. Since I did not care, I respected his space and did not insist on it.
We started going out and our relationship was spicy, until we started dating. We dated for 4 years without commenting on our families, until the day he asked me to get engaged. We were already hopelessly in love with each other and I readily said yes.
With our relationship reaching that level, talking about the family was now necessary. I told him about my family being poor, about my losing my parents early, and he told me about his family.
The biggest problem of all was exactly his family. You’ve known your father your whole life as Harry Young, but his real name was Harry Tudor. The first-born son of the Tudor corporate family.
When the Tudor family heard about our relationship, his parents investigated everything about me. When I went to meet his parents, I had the worst day of my life.
Harry wasn’t enjoying it and started arguing with his parents during our dinner. His parents being very inflexible said that he would have to choose between being the heir to the Tudor corporations or being the husband of a bundle.
I came out of there in tears from all the crying. I’ve never been treated so badly in my entire life. The calm and determination that her father gave me when we left there calmed me down, and to prove it all, he changed Tudor’s own surname to Young the next day.
He said our family needed a young last name to signal the beginning of a new era, so he chose the Young last name. After that I became pregnant with you, we got married and lived the life we always dreamed of.
The problem is that God wasn’t on our side, as you know, your father fell from an antenna during work and died.” Madison said all that while dozens of drops were pouring out of her eyes. But the warm little hand intertwining her fingers with her hand gave her the strength to continue.
“I didn’t know Harry had left home with a little of his family’s money to start his new life. Now, his mother, your grandmother, Janet Tudor, started charging me this money that I didn’t even know existed, that I didn’t even know was true, as a form of revenge, as if I had stolen her son… and I have no condition to pay this money…”. Madison finished telling the story and started crying again as she hugged her daughter.
Sona listening to this story was moved, feeling the emotions that radiated from Madison. This story reminded her of something similar that had happened in her old world.
A certain family of growers exiled their son because he had a relationship with a mortal. Sona didn’t know how similar this was to what happened to her family, but she knew that something normal would certainly not have happened.
“Mom, I have something to tell you…” Sona said by thinking of something to cheer Madison up.
