Sorceress - Chapter 340
“What is this???”
Long Yue said as he walked closer to a jar sitting at the corner of the room.
It managed to catch his attention because it was the only item in the place that did not have a tablet beside it.
Long Yue took hold of its upper cover and slowly lifted it up.
“What’s was inside it??”
Mu Lingxi asked as she also tried to peak at the content of the jar.
But to their dismay, the plain-looking jar contained nothing especial.
“It was just a jar of water.”
Long Yue said with a shrug of his shoulder.
But just when he was about to close the lid of the jar, the water inside it started to boil and this managed to strike a chord in their curiosity.
So to feed their curious minds, both Mu Lingxi and Long Yue peaked again at the inside of the jar for the second time around
This time, they even moved their face closer to the opening of the jar and stared longer at the water inside it.
But what they saw next made the hair in the back of their necks to stand on its ends.
The image only lasted for just a brief second, but it was all enough to make both Long Yue and Mu Lingxi faces to be drained with all of its colors.
It was as if their faces run out of blood right after they were done looking at the water inside the jar.
Even their limbs went limped and it felt numb and for some reason unknown even for themselves, their body also started to tremble. Most likely due to fright and shock
Long Yue immediately shut the lid of the jar close and he even stepped back a little away from the jar. Mu Lingxi also did the same.
They looked at one another and there they saw that the fear that they felt right at that moment was being reflected on each other’s faces.
The expression that they saw at one another also confirmed that they both saw the same frightening thing inside the jar
The class saw how two of their classmates were frightened silly right after looking at the water inside the jar so they also put a safe distance between them and the jar.
No one wanted to get any bit closer to the jar.
But contrary to what the whole class felt, Yun Xue and the others felt more intrigued than scared.
They wonder what had happened to their friends and what exactly did they saw inside. As such they immediately went to their side to asked them about it.
“What happened???”
Long Fuzi asked as he supported his younger brother.
“I saw something inside…”
Long Yue said still with a quivering voice as if what he just saw really frightened him to his core.
“What do you mean you saw something inside??? You mean, this?? But there was nothing but water inside”
Chan Gu said as he lifted the lid up and also tried to peek at the water inside the jar.
“Wait for it to boil!.”
Mu Lingxi told her friend since that was how they saw the image at the water
It was only after the water inside the jar boiled did the water started to show them something.
But Chan Gu already waited for more than 10 seconds yet he still got no response from the jar nor noticed anything odd in the water inside it at all.
“No boiling, no image and nothing aside from pure and crystal clear water..”
Chan Gu said as he reevaluated the water inside the jar.
“What was with the commotion over there???”
Teacher Nana’s voice sounded all of a sudden.
Right after going out of the room with Madam Xing, the first thing that greeted Teacher Nana’s eyes were her students gathering around together in what place.
So she wondered what might have happened while she was away.
Not a while later, her beautiful figure emerged out from the crown of students while the old lady whom she called Madam Xing was trailing behind her.
“Who opened the jar of misfortune???”
Madam Xing asked as soon as she saw the jar without its cover since Cha Gu was still holding it.
“Jar of misfortune, are you referring to this jar, over here?”
Chan Gu said as he put the cover back to its jar.
“What did you see??”
Madam Xing asked in a dead-serious tone as he approached Chan Gu.
“Well, ahmm, water?? I suppose.”
“That’s all???”
Madam Xing felt like the need to reconfirm it that was why she asked Chan Gu again just to make it sure.
“Yeah, is there anything else I suppose to see inside that jar aside from water??”
Chan Gu asked back.
But instead of answering Chan GU’s question right away, Madam Xing heaved a sigh of relief instead.
“Good then..”
“Why? What was the matter, Madam Xing? Is there anything wrong?”
This time it was Teacher Nana who asked a question.
“Well, this one over here is not just an ordinary jar, this one is actually called the Jar of Misfortune.”
Madam Xing introduced the jar to everyone.
“We just got it today that was why it still does not have its tablet.”
She added.
“Just like what its name says, the Jar of Misfortune was a rare artifact enchanted by a powerful warlock during his hay day, from a very long time ago now.
This artifact was capable of predicting a misfortune that was bound to happen. It will show itself to the person who would either be the cause of the misfortune or the one who could actually resolve it.”
“Ohh, interesting. The warlock who created artifact it was indeed genius for enchanting something like that.”
Teacher Nana said in commendation as she nodded her head.
“Excuse me, Madam Xing. Do you mean to say that whatever we saw inside the jar is bound to happen in the near future? And whoever saw it will either cause or solve that misfortune??? Is that right?”
Long Yue asked to make sure that he got it right.
“Exactly.”
When Mu Lingxi and Long Yue heard the affirmative answer from Madam Xing, they both broke out into another cold sweat.
