Sorceress - Chapter 344
Soon, the indistinct chattering of the departing student warlocks and sorceresses started to fade in the background as they made their way back to their respective dorms.
“Would that be all???”
Chan Gu asked with a perplexed expression on his face when there was finally no one around aside from their group.
They could not understand why their teacher had brought them all the way to the isolated part of Majika, in the first place if all they would have to do there was to look around the place for only about a couple of minutes.
“Hmm… I had a feeling that Teacher Nana just brought us all over here with a pretext of showing us the enchanted artifacts as part of her lesson. But the truth is, she had some sort of secret business to deal with in this place.”
Fan Lei said with a contemplating voice that suggested to his friends that Teacher Nana was up to something.
“MEOW”
[Aye! This young lad must have been reading a lot of conspiracy stories in the library lately. Look at that face his sporting? I could almost see the large warning sign above his head saying ‘DETECTIVE MODE ACTIVATED’]
Janus could not help but comment when he overheard Fan Lei’s words.
Mu Lingxi and Long Yue was still a distance away from their other friends. As such only Janus could hear Fan Lei’s words clearly
He was currently resting in his master’s arms as she carried him next to her bosom.
Mu Lingxi and Long Yue were walking side by side going to the direction where their other friends were.
The cute little black cat was just about to start licking his paws clean when his eyes landed on Long Yue.
To his surprise, the other party was also looking at him with eyes full of wonder.
“MEOW”
[Weirdo!]
He said as he averted his gaze.
On the other hand, Fan Lei and the others went on with their conversation.
“You think so??? Well, I must say I could also notice as much as that. Have you noticed it as well? As soon as Teacher Nana came in, Madaam Xing invited her inside a close room right away.”
Yun Xue butted in.
“Hmm… What do you think they talked about in private???”
Long Fuzi decided to join the conversation.
“That, I’m not sure about. But one thing is for certain. Teacher Nana used her class as a pretext to visit Everything Emporium because she doesn’t want anyone to suspect her once she met with Madam Xing.”
Fan Lei claimed with certainty.
“What are you guys whispering at each other over there???”
Long Yue asked his friends when they finally neared them.
He noticed that Yun Xue and the others seemed to be having a secret conversation among themselves without him and Mu Lingxi.
“Oh, we were just talking about our speculation regarding Teacher Nana’s real intention in bringing us all over here. Don’t you find it suspicious as well?”
Long Fuzi was the one who answered his brother’s question as soon as they arrived.
“Suspicious???? I what way did Teacher Nana become suspicious??”
Mu Lingxi asked in befuddlement when she heard Long Fuzi’s reply.
Since she and Long Yue had their attention over the Jar of Misfortune as soon as they arrived, they did not notice Teacher Nana going inside a private room with Madam Xing.
That was why she had not seen anything suspicious about Teacher Nana’s character.
She wondered what did her other friends noticed about Teacher Nana that made them think that way.
“Well, we just think that Teacher Nana wanted to meet with Madam Xing privately with the pretext of conducting her lessons here in Everything Emporium.”
Fan Lei told Mu Lingxi about everything that they had talked about so far. After he did that, he waited for Mu Lingxi’s reaction.
“Ahmm… Could it just be a coincidence????”
Mu Lingxi said as she thought about it from her point of view.
“Then what do you think they talked about in private?? And why did she brought us all the way here just to tell us that we will do reporting on our next meeting?? I mean, she could just tell us about it in the classroom and just let us visit the emporium on our own.”
This time, it was Chan Gu who pointed out those details.
“Well, I think whatever her reason was, its none of our business. We should not bother ourselves about it anymore. Don’t you agree? We are out of it, seriously.”
Long Yue stated his opinion and Mu Lingxi seconded him straightaway.
“Yeah, Long Yue has a point.”
“At some point, I agree with Long Yue as well. Just like what he said, we don’t have to bother ourselves about it since it was none of our business, to begin with. But what about you two, Long Yue and Su Yan? What did you see in the jar anyway??”
Long Fuzi supported his brother as well.
Then right after that, he asked an entirely different question to change the topic.
“Ahmm… I think this is not the right place for us to talk about it. How about we head back to our room first??”
Mu Lingxi suggested and she knew that her friends knew her well enough.
They should know for certain that she won’t tell them about it unless they do as she told.
When Long Fuzi and the other heard Mu Lingxi’s response, it only made them feel more intrigued than ever
Just what exactly did they saw inside the Jar of Misfortune for them to act all scared like that and for them to treat it as something confidential???
“Well, yeah. We could just talk about that later along with Long Yue’s news about Luna, right???”
Long Fuzi said as he draped his arm over his brother’s shoulder.
“Oh yes, about that.’
Long Yue smiled awkwardly when he was reminded about his concern with Luna.
“Hmmm… alright. It was settled then. How about we fill our tummies first?? I heard that there were newly arrived stocks of BUTTERFRIES last day. The cook might complement it with CLOVERGERS and prepare it for today’s menu.”
This time, it was Chan Gu who said that as he rubbed his tummy in anticipation
“Is that for real??? Woah! Just by hearing that perfect set of snacks made me drooled already. It makes me hungry!!!”
Long Yue exclaimed with an excited gleam on his eyes.
The two food buddies get excited over the mention of the food that they started to pick up their pace and hurriedly walked towards the direction of the school pantry, leaving their other friends behind.
“MEOW”
[Little lass, when they said BUTTERFRIES? Is that the one that looked like a butterfly that can be deep-fried and taste like french fries??? And when they said CLOVERGERS are they talking about the food that resembles clover with the form of a hamburger; having two bread leaves, one cheese leaf, and one patty leaf??? I want that too!!!!]
“Yeah sure. I’ll get you that combo meal, later. Don’t worry…”
“MEOW”
[Ohhh! I am so hungry I could eat a horse!]
“Janus, horses are way bigger than you. You cannot eat them.”
Mu Lingxi replied in a matter of fact tone.
“MEOW”
[TSK! That was just an idiomatic expression. Haven’t you heard about it before?? Haaayyy.. you should have focused more on your literature subject before. Look at you now, so clueless.]
“Yeah sure. If I was only given a heads up before that I’ll get a weird cat that speaks in idioms, I might have studied more.”
Mu Lingxi retorted to her cat.
