Sorceress - Chapter 349
So since their group had already decided what to do next, they finally made their move and without wasting a second made their way towards Schoolmaster Yin’s office, ready to tell him what exactly did Long Yue and Mu Lingxi saw in the water inside the Jar of Misfortune
But while the group was on their way towards the office, Long Yue suddenly thought about something different.
So he made an abrupt halt on his steps that made Mu Lingxi and the others stopped on their tracks as well.
“Hey! Hold it for a second.”
He said out of the blue.
Startled, his other friends looked at Long Yue all at the same time.
“What is it, brother??”
Asked Long Fuzi as they waited for Long Yue’s response.
Just what exactly did he wanted to tell them at this point in time that they even have to stop walking?
Can’t they just talk about it as they walk????
What was the point of stopping in the middle of the road, altogether?
“Well, you know. I just went to Schoolmaster Yin’s office this morning without prior notice. And I do say I pretty spend lots of effort convincing the lady in the portrait to have me meet the schoolmaster without an appointment. I don’t think we could be as lucky as that this time, though. So I suggest, why don’t we try asking for Teacher Nana’s help, instead? Maybe she could have us covered, doesn’t she??? Besides would it not look rather rude if some students came barging in the schoolmaster’s office twice in a day?”
“MEOW”
[Ohh… When you said ‘some students’, I’m afraid you are just referring to yourself, little lad. Don’t you??? So I think that should only be ‘student’, with no ‘S’]
Since Janus knew that Long Yue could already hear him loud and clear now, he did not mind giving the young warlock quite a few pieces of his mind.
But Long Yue decided not to pay Janus’s words any heed for the meantime. He could not afford to get distracted by a cat while he was in the middle of convincing his friends.
Truth be told, the reason why Long Yue thought about having Teacher Nana to accompany them was that to make himself feel at ease, somehow.
It would personally make him uncomfortable and ashamed for himself if he would come knocking and barging to someone else’s office again, twice in a row without a proper introduction or invitation.
“MEOW”
[Ohh… so you are not the cranky type of man, I suppose. Suit yourself, I still got some earful reserved for you in the future.]
Janus said afterward when he noticed that Long Yue did not seem to be bothered by his taunting words at all.
“Can’t we just go and tell him straight and get on with it??? I mean, why do we even need to have all this sort of preparations and planning just to tell him??? It was not as if we are going there to visit him for no good reason? We will go and meet him with a good intention in our hearts. We are letting him know about his upcoming misfortune beforehand. He should even be thankful for us, right? What now, can he not even spare us a few minutes of his time, in exchange for that?!”
Yun Xue said in not so friendly way.
It seemed like his mood was just about to take another full swing again at any moment.
So before Yun Xue’s ill temperament and mood swings could even act up more, Long Fuzi already waded into the conversation.
“Well yeah, we could do that. We could ask for Teacher Nana’s help to have us covered and request Schoolmaster Yin’s audience on our behalf.”
“We got a problem with that though. How do you expect Teacher Nana to assist us if we are not even willing to tell her what exactly did they saw in the Jar of Misfortune??? Have you forgot it already??? She asked Long Yue and Su Yan (Mu Lingxi) about it this morning but they refused to tell her about it and told her instead that it was nothing.”
Fan Lei reminded them.
“Then we could just tell Teacher Nana what our friends saw inside the Jar of Misfortune??? Is it not that simple?”
Chan Gu suggested and Fan Lei supported his suggestion right away.
“Right, We should at least do as much as that, if we would like to ask a favor from her. ”
“Well, yeah about that. I was just wondering about it. No matter how hard I try to reason out to myself, I just can’t find the point of hiding it to Teacher Nana? Why did you two guys, even hide it from her in the first place?”
Yun Xue butted in and his time, his question was directed to Mu Lingxi and Long Yue.
“Well, you know that there were many ears listening at that time. Considering that what they saw might be related to Schoolmaster Yin, don’t you think that it was even a wise move from them not to divulge it that easily? Besides, what good would it brought us if they revealed the truth before all of them???? Won’t it just only complicate things for our group as well once our classmates found out that we used to accept a direct mission from Schoolmaster Yin, himself??”
“Hmmm.. It was indeed wise of them that they had already considered as much as that, After all, Schoolmaster Yin personally asked us to conduct that mission at the Sanguine Tundra with utmost secrecy since it was also related to his study of souls.
“Well, since the ancient chalice was something that involves his personal gains, it was only normal for Schoolmaster Yin not to want anyone from learning about that mission. Besides, we also benefitted from it. Because we needed Schoolmaster Yin’s knowledge in soul arts to speed up Luna’s recovery.”
“Exactly! Won’t it only make it look bad for the schoolmaster’s image if it would be made known to many that he used to order around some student warlocks into getting an item for him, for his own disposal?? Some might even suspect him from overusing his influence as the schoolmaster if news leaked out.”
Before Mu Lingxi and Long Yue could even give their friends the actual reason why they choose not to tell Teacher Nana about the thing that they saw in the Jar of Misfortune, Chan Gu and the others already engaged themselves into discourse
“Guys, the thing is we have not told you everything, yet. There was more to the image that we saw in the water inside the Jar of Misfortune.
Long Tue confessed guiltily.
“Right. We do tell you that we saw the lady escaped the ancient chalice as well as the fact that there was someone else’s body lying on the ground motionlessly beside it. But more than that, we also deliberately left out the part that there was also another silhouette that we saw inside the image. It was a silhouette of a man and a cat. It was quite blurred and it was if they were standing and watching from afar.”
“A man and a cat, you say?? Then would that mean that it could be any of you two??? So once the day of misfortune comes, either the two of you will be present there at the scene to witness it”
Asked Chan Gu.
They all know that both Long Yue and Su Yan (Mu Lingxi) had a cat of their own.
So if they did saw a silhouette of a man and cat together in the image, then would that mean that it was either the two of them???
“Hey, you nut job! What are you even thinking?! Why?!!! Is Long Yue and Su Yan the only person in the world that owns a cat??? It could be someone else. Why does it have to be one of our friends automatically? Do you think this world just revolved around our group???”
Yun Xue berated Chan Gu.
“Well, yeah.. ahhhmmm. You must be right. But, I am just saying though. Why are you even more affected than them???”
“TSK!”
“Anyways, I also think that we need Teacher Nana’s help. Let’s just leave out the part about the silhouette of a man and cat once we told her about what you two saw in the water.”
Before their attention could even continue to drift farther away, Fan Lei already decided to cut his friends nonsense bickerings and talked about their next course of action.
With that being said, the group change route heading first to the Teacher Hall to meet Teacher Nana before going to Schoolmaster Yin’s office.
