Soul For A Girlfriend? - Chapter 287
“Hey, Saishi!” I heard Gaisen call me as I turned towards him and noticed him gesturing to me, “Come here for a moment…”
“What?’ I asked as his tone was rather low and weird, as he pointed his index finger somewhere and asked, “Isn’t that your girlfriend?”
“Which one?” I asked, following the direction he was pointing towards, “That one, across the street… in front of the hotel.”
I gazed into the distance and squinted my eyes to notice Shiraishi’s ginger hair flowing freely behind her as she was talking to some dude on a motorcycle, “Ah shit…”
“And wasn’t she supposed to be with her friends?” I glanced back at Gaisen as he smiled awkwardly and asked, “And what is she doing with a dude?”
“This looks exactly like the worst-case scenario I thought of…” I replied in a nonchalant way
“Sorry dude…” He sighed under his breath, as my gaze shifted towards him, “What are you being sorry for?”
“Everything’s alright,” I said while glancing across the road again and noticing her laughing casually while talking with the dude. My eyes shifted towards the hotel behind her and I smirked, “I actually saw this possibility, so it doesn’t astound me.”
“But still…” Gaisen was dumbfounded by my reaction as I shrugged, “You can’t get hurt if you cease your expectations from people.”
“Damn… how the fuck can you take this so calmly?!” Gaisen expressed himself, as I stepped back and chuckled, “I mean… not that doing anything will change what’s happening, right?”
“Yeah, but if I was you, I would punch the guy square in the face or would’ve broken up with my girlfriend.” He said, running his hands through his hair, as I stared at him and uttered only one word, “Damn…”
“Don’t worry man, we don’t know the situation entirely yet… could be a misunderstanding as well.” He tried to console me, but the thing was I didn’t need to be consoled for something I didn’t give a single damn about.
“I love your optimism but that’s a love hotel, you do understand that right?” I said pointing towards the hotel and continued, “There’s no way to explain this other than what we both are thinking.”
“But… he looks a bit older than us.” I suddenly heard Tsūmen’s voice, as he rested his elbow on my shoulder and looked at Gaisen, “Probably a University student.”
“Woah! Don’t sneak up on us!” Gaisen replied, being caught off guard by his sudden appearance, as he asked, “What’s happening?”
“Isn’t it pretty self-explanatory?”
I glanced back at Shiraishi and a smile formed on my face as I took my mobile and pointed my camera towards them, zooming in to get a better shot of them together.
“Wait… why are you taking a photograph of them?” Gaisen narrowed his eyes and asked with a hint of concern in his voice as I laughed, “This is too great of an opportunity to let go.”
“Oi! Oi! What’s wrong with you?” Tsūmen asked as I checked the photo to make sure her face was visible, “Nothing specific.”
“So your girl basically lied to you about her plans to hang out with another guy…” He said, looking towards me as I nodded, “Pretty much…”
It was great that Shiraishi cleared her path for herself. Otherwise, I would’ve had to remove her by my own methods and that would’ve been a waste of energy as well as time for me.
“And the chance of them already having sex is high…” Tsūmen added, and Gaisen smacked him on the head, “I know that as well.”
“Damn, that’s… um, I don’t know what to say.” He stepped away from me, holding his head and said hesitantly, “It’s alright… I know she is like this.”
Three of us stood there in silence while Gaisen’s eyes shifted across the street again, and he asked in an indifferent tone, “Then why not break up?”
“It’s not like our relationship is serious, to begin with.” I took a deep breath and stared into the night sky, as Gaisen yelled at me, “What the hell are you even doing at this point?”
“I ask myself the same question everyday.”
“Let me get this straight. You’re okay with your girl sleeping around with someone else because you’re not serious about her?” Tsūmen narrowed his eyes at me with a hint of sarcasm in his voice, as I nodded, “Basically…”
“Do you know how this will affect your reputation if this gets out?” He stared into my eyes, as I replied, “I know. I’ll be this guy who can’t keep his girl in check and everyone will condemn me.”
“Then… I think it’ll be better for you to control this situation before it gets out of hand.” Tsūmen said in a rather serious tone, as Gaisen agreed with him, “I’ll suggest the same thing.”
They indeed had a point in that, but the thing was that Shiraishi already lived by the reputation she had created in school. And even if everyone knows she was cheating on me, I would be the person least affected by it.
This was just how the social standing in school was.
The popular students get all the attention despite their actions.
“I don’t understand why you even got yourself involved with her.” Gaisen asked, as Tsūmen stared right at me and said bluntly, “Don’t tell me you just wanted to have sex with her…”
“Of course not…”
“Then?”
“I don’t know…”
Of course, I didn’t go into a relationship because I wanted to smash her. I didn’t even like her in the first place, but my circumstances were rather difficult to explain to them.
“Don’t worry man, you’ll get better girls than her.” Gaisen patted my shoulder with hopeful words, as we started walking back and Tsūmen expressed his rage, “Fucking ruined my mood, I told you she’s a bitch…”
“Tsūmen bruh, come on,”
“My bad…”
Now I wouldn’t have to worry about her being an obstacle in my path.
