Spartan In Star Wars - Chapter 35
One-hundred and fifty clones were gathered to meet their new trainers. The only one who had an idea of what was happening was Rex. When two black armored individuals walked into the room, most of the clones were confused. They’ve seen the two roaming the facility but didn’t think they would ever be involved with them.
“Rex front and center.” Rex moves to the front of the group of clones and takes a place next to Captain Waltz. “From now on you’re promoted to Captain. Captain Waltz Captain Rex split the unit into two immediately and when you’re done come see me.”
Both clones Captains did what they were told without question, assuming that these two were much higher ranks then they were. When they finished they returned to Dom and in sync. “It’s been done Sir.”
Dom walks back to the now two units of seventy-five and takes place in the front. “Good Job, I’m Dom and I’ll be your Acting Commander and trainer and this is Sophia also your Acting Commander. Captain Waltz will be under her command.”
Captain Waltz steps forward and asks to speak. “Sir, May we know what’s happening.”
“We will be training you to be elite units known in the future as Phalanx. You’ll undergo the most intense training you’ve seen in a while. But first, you’ll use these modified rifles” The Kaminoans enter the room with a bunch of rifles all containing paint bullets. The Spartan used these when they were doing mock battles on Reach. “The kickback is gonna be stronger than what you’re used to so make sure you adapt.”
After the clones all grab their new training rifles. They returned there units. “Now, we are gonna have a mock battle, if you get hit your dead and you’ll be moved off the battlefield. If caught firing when dead, let’s just say your entire unit will suffer.
–Sophia to Dom–
“Dom I discovered information about Diesel, we should be able to connect to him soon. I was able to hack into Jango’s ship and intercept a transmission to Tyranus.”
“What kind of information did we get?”
“He’s usually in the Naboo Sector so that’ll be our best bet. But I believe they feel threatened by him. They mentioned that he’s interfering with their plans, not to mention he has worked with the Jedi in the past.”
“Alright, we should edit Order 66 again. What do you mean by them?”
“Well, I’m not exactly sure yet. I’m still digging into that.”
–Clones Captains–
“Captain Waltz what do you think of our Acting Commanders?”
“They are Big but that’s it but Orders are Orders.”
“Wait till you actually see them in action.”
–Training Field–
Both units lined up across each other. The battlefield was a long and wide open area with a bunch of covered platforms. Walls were scattered throughout the course. This would be the very first mock battle of many for these future Phalanx clones.
Dom sat in the viewing booth very disappointed in the clones. They were good, they had tactics but they were so by the book it was extremely predictable. Not one side out performed the other. Other than a select few clones like Rex. The rest were just above average soldiers. In the end the winner of the battle was Captain Rex because of his overall personal skill. After the short battle Dom pulled everyone together.
“I thought you all would at least meet my expectations. But I’m utterly disappointed, you have the training to be good but you all limited yourself. If it wasn’t for Captain Rex individual skill, this would be a total waste of time. You step forward, what is your name.”
A random clone was selected from inside Captain Waltz unit steps forward. “Clone CR.-.1.873 Riptide.”
“Why do you think your unit lost?”
“Sir, we lost because we weren’t able to adapt to the individual skill that Captain Rex displayed.”
“Incorrect you lost, because your only plan was to defeat the opposing team. Both sides figured this was to just defeat the other team and win and exercise your all wrong. Normally, I’d run you to death but this is your first learning experience. Now take a seat. Let me show you why one of the reasons Rex was the best one out there.”
Again, Dom plays the video of Diesel for the clones. He stops at certain parts explaining some of the choices that Diesel made mid fight. The Advantages, disadvantages the use of terrain, anything that one could normally think of. That video training session went on for an extremely long time. The skills and knowledge he displayed mid fight encouraged the clones.
“Let me remind you all. He can do most of these things because he is a Spartan. You are not him. What you need to do is understand your strengths and weaknesses. Use them to turn an unfavorable fight into a winnable one.”
(Give me individual names for the Phalanx units!)
