Spartan In Star Wars - Chapter 52
Rex stared at the turrets at the end of the tunnel he knew they had to get past them or find another way. The clones quickly debated on how they wished to handle it. Rex took a moment and remembered what Dom’s and Sophia displayed back on the first day they met. Completely crushing course, he steps forward looking at his fellow brothers with a grim look but confident look.
“If I die here today, know that everything I did was for our brothers and our future.”
With those words he took off towards the turrets with his dual DC-17 pistol. He knew he couldn’t slow down and aim. He had to use his training to perfectly time the shots. A moment of hesitation would be the end of his life.
“I just can’t catch a break.” Rex whispers under his break as the lasers bolt fire down the hallway towards him. He skillfully dodges the oncoming fire, it was then Rex began to realize everything seemed to move at a much slower pace. Or maybe he was faster. Ever since he was forced to return from his injuries from the previous battle. His senses seemed to have sharpened.
These lasers were nothing, then he remembered the words Diesel spoke when he awoke from the Bacta tank. “It’s the injuries healed nicely, oh and it looks like the enhancements don’t even show. Congratulations.” At the time I didn’t understand what he was saying. So Rec just assumed it had something to do with the recovery process.
Rex’s progress down the tunnel stunned his fellow clones. They all looked at him in awe wondering how he managed to keep dodging the laser bolts. If it was any of them they would have 100% already been killed. He made it look so simple. Eventually Rex reached the turrets, sidestepping and spinning he fired both of his DC-17s into the first turret quickly disabling it. Right after Rex takes out the first one he turns into a barrel roll, and flips onto his knee, firing another two rounds right into the barrels of the second. He stands up and begins walking deeper into the tunnel, waving the men forward.
“We are falling behind. When did Rex become so good.” Lantern says at the nameless clone who asked the question.
“Captain Rex although might be the 2nd Captain of the 300th. He is the one closest to the Spartan’s. It’s because of Rex that we are standing here today as the 300th. According to Captain Waltz, Rex will become the forefront of the clones in the years to come.”
“Forefront? What does that mean.” Jack quickly stepped forward from behind the group of clones. Taking over the conversation. from the nameless clone.
“Meaning he will become the Leader of the clones. Or in similar terms, the highest ranked clone. One of the reasons the Captains are being sent to the front lines was to build support for them when the ch.i.p.s get removed from the others.”
All the nameless clones looked toward the back of Captain Rex in awe. They will be witnessing the birth of history with the 300th and they were the ones taking a part of it. Captain Titan stopped and turned around wacking all the clones back into shape.
“Stop daydreaming we have a job to do. If we fail those dreams won’t come true.”
–Naboo Academy–
“Diesel do you think it was a good idea to give the clone the basic enhancements?”
“Of course Dom, I’m betting on Captain Rex becoming an icon of the clones. Beside they are the same enhancements the Clan has received it’s not like they are game breaking. I don’t wish to kill anyone. Ril’ah how are the projects coming along?”
“Mainly, we are missing the money to forgo the projects. Between the two star systems, we are still ending up relatively short.”
“I see, get some of our men to run bounty hunter missions. On Naboo, how is the shield production going? Will the Republic buy some? The ones we sell make sure you add an anti-theft option to them. This will slow down the chances of it being stolen. Also, increase the food production, these are times of war we will need every advantage we can get even if we sell the extra’s”
