Spartan In Star Wars - Chapter 72
Aboard the Mandalorian Flagship Trinity
Sitting in the Admiral Chair overlooking some of the crew. Diesel looked out into the endless darkness of space. His gaze never leaves the direction of the new Mandalorian “Rebellion.” Thinking back to a few years after his arrival to this apparent galaxy his thinking slowly changed. From a just Super Soldier, to the leader of the Mandalorian. Although, it was never his purpose to be Mandalorian. He now had another goal. The protection of his “people.”
However, his thoughts kept lingering into the past taking another look at some of the crew of Trinity. Diesel sat in his chair leaning back closing his eyes behind his helmet. He was supposed to be a Spartan that UNSC made behind Dr. Halsey’s back. Similar to Black Team. However, even unlike Black Team who served directly under the UNSC. Valkyrie served in special operations under the woman called The Doctor. Apparently, she started the ORION Project Generation II with Dr. Halsey but during the selection process, they didn’t see eye to eye.
Dr. Halsey selected seventy-five kids out of the one hundred and fifty that met her personal standards. The Doctor, however, had her own standards and she wanted to select fifteen others. A fight happened and the two doctors split ways. In the end The Doctor convinced the UNSC that she would take fifteen of her own kids and raise them as soldiers herself.
In the end, both doctors’ way of thinking was completely different and both wanted to accomplish different things. Dr. Halsey wished for the advancement of the human species as a whole. While the doctor, although brutal with the training, treated us, like family. In the end, only three of the fifteen lived.
During the next few years after the augmentation, they began receiving all sorts of brutal training. But no matter how dangerous the training was, The Doctor would always treat the three of them as her own kids. The four of them began closer after augmentation because they were constantly “checked” on. The longer they were together the closer they became. Eventually, Diesel became the favorite of the three and naturally became the leader of the group.
Diesel and Dom were extremely close like how brothers would be. Sophia on the other hand was still more of a loner of the three. More often than not she was studying computer things off on her own when they had some rare time off. Advancing her knowledge as much as possible. She really became the brains of the group through her efforts. Later on in training you could tell things were becoming different from her. She kept pushing all the credit onto Diesel. While Diesel wanted to share the credit, she kept saying things like “You’re our leader, our priority is following your orders.” It was like her thought process was changing as she grew older.
When on a mission she was like another person, and would do anything to complete the mission to the point of almost losing her life a couple times. She understood that they served the UNSC first and everything else was second. But for Diesel he considered the Spartans as family and would do what any family member should do. “Protect one’s family above all else.” Looking back on things is a prime example of thatwould be Samuel from Blue Team. In order to allow Kelly and John to escape he stayed behind so they could escape. This catapulted John in being a much better leader as a result of Samuels sacrifice.
When Samuel died in the beginning of the Human-Covenant war the doctor learned that Dr. Halsey created the Mjolnir Armor. After learning of the designs from ONI it was agreed if the three Spartans performed heavily dangerous OPs they would be allowed to the new designs for the new armor..
Soon three sets of Customized Mjolnir Armor were created by The Doctor. Diesel’s “Siege Weapon”, Dom’s “Assault Weapon”, and Sophia’s “Cyber Weapon”. The three variants were created to be the perfect Sieging team. They were finally ready to be deployed when they were called to Reach to defend it from the oncoming invasion.
Author’s Note: The death of my step father took a much bigger hit on the family then we expected. Although, I’m unsure how much this will affect the story I at least want to give a warning. Money may become a issue and I might have to look for a new job. As some of you may know I mainly write in my free time at work. SO, the obvious thing is a new job could mean no more free time. Of course I’ll give a proper heads up at the time but I want everyone to be aware if anything changes in the near future.
