Speed Is King - Chapter 162
“Indeed it’s a human. Fascinating. And he has a very strange dragon aura about him. I wonder what exactly he is?” A masculine voice sounded as well.
“I am a human currently absorbing a Red Dragon Blood Essence.” Elliot replied lazily.
He had sensed their presence a couple hours back, and he was rather surprised that they had stopped a few hundred meters directly above his position and remained there for the whole two hours.
His instincts had blared out loudly, telling him that the two of them would be extremely, extremely dangerous foes to fight with.
However, he also appreciated the fact that they allowed him to finish whatever he was doing first before communicating with him. That gesture alone told him that they were not wild beasts seeking prey to eat. And if they weren’t wild beasts, then they would either be fugitives or Inserts.
He doubted that fugitives would bother waiting up in the air for him for two whole hours. So they could only be Inserts. Inserts with a desire to communicate with a strong being.
Knowing that, Elliot had taken his time to finish absorbing all of the old bones first before exiting the ground calmly and with confidence.
A whole lot of confidence.
Because although his instincts told him that they were dangerous foes, it also told him that they were within his power to deal with.
“Hooo. You are very open with your situation. You’re either a complete idiot, or you’re being very carelessly overconfident.” The female voice said with an amused voice. “And I do not think that idiots can make it to be as strong as you in this situation. What do you think, Khal? Teach him a lesson?”
“Too lazy. You go ahead if you want to.” Khalendros replied.
“Fine. Let me check him out.” Khellendra said and swooped down to the ground at such great speed that it looked like she blinked!
“You have a very strong dragon aura about you too.” Elliot said calmly as he gazed at the transcendentally beautiful woman who had appeared before him like an angel descending upon earth.
She was dressed completely in blue. A pretty and slightly revealing blue dress with white trim, as well as blue accessories. Even her hair had blue highlights all over, giving her a rather wild but still very gorgeous look.
If Elliot had to rate her out of 10, her score would be 100.
Her face was perfect.
The shape of her breasts, and the curve of her hips… More than perfect.
Her entire being screamed of female vitality and even the usually stoic and serious Elliot couldn’t help but be slightly affected.
“As I should have.” Khellendra chuckled. “I am a Blue Dragon.”
Elliot blinked once to clear his head of all the inappropriate thoughts that were starting to form, and focused on the fight that was about to go down.
“Very nice. Well then. Come.” Elliot drew Gilgamar from his sheath and held it very casually with the blade pointing diagonally down. It was as though he was asked to spar with someone he actually couldn’t be bothered to spar with.
But the power that he exuded with such a simple stance betrayed all of the nonchalance that he tried to portray.
Gilgamar shone with muted brilliance, silent and fearsome, but also cold and deadly.
His violet-tinged scales on his right hugged his powerful arm with stunning effect, radiating a draconic aura that was both majestic and awful at the same time.
“Hoo. Interesting. Now even I feel like giving it a go.” Khalendros said as he opened his eyes which were half shut earlier, fully. However, after a second, he closed his eyes once more and remained where he was, standing up high in the sky with his arms folded.
“You’re a strange one. But you’re a thousand years too early if you think you can be overconfident against me.” Khellendra smiled coldly.
And then, she disappeared from her position.
CLANG! CLANG!
Elliot parried both her frightfully quick claw attacks with Gilgamar and instantly countered with a quick thrust of his own.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Khellendra easily blocked his thrust, and unleashed two more quick attacks, which were also easily parried by Elliot!
CL-CL-CL-CL-CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!
Their exchange grew faster and faster until the sound of their fight merged together into one long and indistinguishable CLANG!
“This is great!” Elliot thought as he felt his initially awkward movements grow smoother and smoother, and his transitions from one stance to another become faster and faster. “Truly, no amount of practice can compare to real combat!”
Khellendra who was actually taking him rather lightly quickly became alarmed at his ridiculous growth. She had to exert more and more of her real strength and speed to be able to parry his attacks!
It started from merely utilizing 5% of her real strength to nearly 45% within a couple of minutes! If this went on, she might even lose!
Khellendra narrowed her eyes lightly and began to take Elliot seriously.
“Let’s see how he deals with a full 50% of my power.” Khellendra thought to herself. She began to activate several Runes on her arms and infused her attacks with lightning energy.
CLAAAANG!!!
Their rapid exchange continued at a near blur, this time, each strike from Khellendra sent a sharp burst of lightning energy into Elliot’s arm.
Within a few seconds, Elliot’s arm grew slightly numb.
“Hmm? Lightning energy? You’re not the only one who can do it!” Elliot smirked to himself and began to weave his Purgatory Fire Energy.
“Quit playing and test him seriously.” Khalendros said with slight impatience in his voice.
CLANG!
Elliot parried one final quick strike from Khellendra before she leapt back to disengage.
“You’re pretty good.” Khellendra conceded.
“You too.” Elliot said earnestly. “Your fighting technique is extremely refreshing.”
“Refreshing?” Khellendra said with a laugh.. “I believe that this is the first time I’ve received such a unique praise! You’re definitely a newbie in terms of real combat.”
