Spider Prince - Chapter 2
I, Li Qi, woke up in a slightly fancy bed. The pain from last night was completely gone, and I felt much better. However, this was still kind of hard to accept.
I died from a mere accident that was really ridiculous, yet reincarnated in another really ridiculous world. I guess I’ll just have to treat it as a game or something until I get used to it, ’cause, girl, THIS IS OUT OF THIS WORRRRLLLDDDDD!!!!
I have to learn to stop thinking to myself like I’m narrating a story that’s meant to have some funny parts in it but really fails to do so.
Looking around, the room looked quite nice. The nightstand next to the bed didn’t have anything but a red mirror on it. The mirror was heart shaped and appeared to have been polished beforehand. The other nightstand on the oposite side of the bed was identical.
I was laying under two thick, warm, and soft blankets. The bottom one was a creamy white, while the top was blood red. Thinking of blood, I can still smell the blood coming from the wounds on my arms and legs. They seem to have been bandaged up though.
Looking out the window, I got out of bed and headed for the door. I really wanted to find out why I woke up in a bed in such a luxurious room.
Before I could open the door though, it swung open itself to reveal the girl from last night. Her green robes mixed well with her sea blue eyes and her unruly smile and dark black hair seemed unlike that girl he had once saw. This one… seemed like a troublemaker.
“Trying to leave already? You have to be responsible, you know.” She mocked. I raised my eyebrows. “Be responsible?” I asked, confused by what she said.
Her arrogant expression shifted slightly as she fiddled around with her hair. She was blushing hard and she mumbled, “You stole my first kiss so… y-you have to be my servant!” She raised her head to look at me.
I stepped back. “Uhm… can I not, miss?” I refuted timidly. She unsheathed the sword at her waist and glared, “If you don’t, you’ll have to compensate me with your death! I don’t care if you were a spider, you still kissed me! And… and… If people find out I kissed a man before I got married, what would people think? Therefore, you have to become my servant!”
“Uhhh… please calm down, miss… uhm… What’s your name? And if you threaten me with my life, all I can do is say yes!” Seemingly satisfied with my answer, she sheathed her sword. She wasn’t as mad and unruly as before as it was replaced with a girl as gentle as water yet still unemotional.
“My name is Shi Man, I apologize for earlier. Though, it is quite a weird phenomenon for a human male to transform into a spider, but not impossible. The only person that has turned from spider to human at will is the rumored Spider Prince. However, being able to become a big spider requires you to be stronger than normal cultivators, perhaps having to become stronger than most of them. I’m not sure how it works for you as I am unfamiliar with this type of stuff. Don’t misunderstand.” Her unemotional appearance and gentle voice struck a string in his heart.
He coughed and looked at her slightly. “Your a… great actor by the way.” Her face darkened as she reached for her sword. “I mean umm, thanks for the information!” She nodded, folding her arms at her chest.
“Since you’ve agreed to be my servant, I suppose I’ll have to help you in your cultivation.” Her eyes closed, she opened one. The drastic changes in her personality keep on giving me heart attacks.
“Really?” He questioned. Having searched his memories, he was quite curious about this cultivation thing. However, the previous owner was constantly on the verge of dying from hunger nearly everyday due to him being so poor and unable to find resources with his cultivation in this large life. Being him, I felt sadness.
The poor guy, he has the same name as me, watched his family die in front of his eyes. Afterwards, he couldn’t live on his own but managed to live a meager existence, on the verge of dying everyday. It seems that he finally died from hunger in the spot where I woke up. I couldn’t move, so I guess that’s why I was in such an embarrassing spot at such a time.
At this moment, I winced. The pain had increased by ten folds in a few seconds. I’m so hungry I feel like I’m dying, and a growl came from my stomach. Seeing this, the girl named Shi Man knitted her brows as she moved her slender lips, “It seems we will have to feed you first, considering how your reacting. You must not have eaten for a very long time, I feel sorry for you.”
He looked at her. This new “master” of his seemed cool for some reason…
