Spiderweb - 141 Blame
“Sigh… it looks like the night sky is going to be especially beautiful today too,” She smiled.
The secretary looked up at the sky and at the clouds. Her eyes widened and squinted. She looked at Mrs. Cloud and then looked at the same area that she was staring at. Her eyes squinted and widened again. She must’ve been blind or not seeing correctly.
She couldn’t see what Mrs. Cloud was staring at so so intently
“It looks like it would be a good night for you to sneak out with that security boyfriend of yours to watch the stars, doesn’t it?” Mrs. Cloud chuckled.
The secretary blushed. “You know everything that goes on in these walls, don’t you?”
Mrs. Cloud simply smiled and continued to stare up at the clouds.
The secretary watched her for a moment before clearing her throat, “How can you tell?” The secretary asked as she stared up at the sky.
“The clouds,” Mrs. Cloud grinned.
The secretary stared at her blankly for a moment before a puff of air left her lips in an attempt to keep herself from laughing.
Mrs. Cloud thought about it for a moment before chuckling. Her smile disappeared in seconds. “I did not mean that as a joke. Don’t take it as one.”
The secretary wiped the smile off her face immediately. “Yes ma’am.”
Mrs. Cloud looked up at the sky once again, her hand twitching. She wanted to reach up and catch one. ‘Would that be unprofessional?’ she thought to herself.
It didn’t matter after what her answer to that question was, because in the end, her hands raised up immediately and she reached for a cloud and quickly closed her hand, pretending she had caught a cloud.
The secretary stared at Mrs. Cloud in confusion as she stared up at the sky in happiness. The secretary cocked her head to the side as she watched her secretary before looking up at the sky. ‘Are we looking up at the same sky?’ the secretary thought to herself. ‘Why is she looking at the clouds so gently? It’s just the sky.’
Mrs. Cloud smiled and turned around and looked at her employee, her smile returning to a thin line when she spotted a figure behind them. She lets out a sigh as she sees a patient running down the halls with a firelighter and some gasoline in their hands.
The prisoner ran out of the door and stood in front of Mrs. Cloud and her bodyguards.
They flinched when her bodyguards made a step towards them. “S-stay in PLACE!” they yelled, tears forming at the edges of their eyes.
Mrs. Cloud sighed, turning away from the patient and continuing her way to the parking lot past the first high gate of the building. She turned back to her secretary and her bodyguards. “Are you coming along or gonna stay behind with the idiot and play tag with the fire holder? What is this, avatar?”
She was different. In her way of thinking, acting, and just overall living. An odd, emotionless woman is after all the best leader for a big company.
The secretary ushered the bodyguard to Mrs. Cloud. They protected all sides of her as she walked to the parking lot, the prisoner staring at them in disbelief.
“I thought I said DON’T MOVE?!” the prisoner yelled.
“I swear if I lose my hearing over this-” Mrs. Cloud sighed in annoyance. She kept walking. “And I said to remain in your jail cell and serve your time but look where we are now.”
They almost reached the gate.
“STOP WALKING DAMMIT!” the prisoner yelled, his hand trembling. “I WILL BURN THIS ENTIRE PLACE DOWN.”
“Does it look like I care?” Mrs. Cloud chuckled, “it’s already hell, what difference does it make if there’s fire on it, Juan.”
The prisoner chucked, her head cocking to the side. “Wanna see?”
“Hell yes, go the fuck ahead,” Mrs. Cloud smiled. “I’m leaving afterall. If you burn it down, the only one who dies is you with the rest of them.
The prisoner stared at her in confusion. “Do you not care about us? Bout’ your family?”
Mrs. Cloud paused, turning to face the prisoner. Her eyes locked with theirs. “Family? What family?”
The prisoner stared at her with blank eyes. “Vixen? Vixen Cloud? Your son?! W-what about your husband? Mr. Cloud?! The one behind bars for all the crimes he committed! The one who created this hell and trapped me in it for years now! I haven’t seen my daughter since she was 5, she’s 15 now. How dare you?! HOW DARE YOU NOT EVEN REMEMBER THE CRIMES YOU COMMITTED AT THE FAMILY YOU SEPARATED ME FROM?!”
Mrs. Cloud tilted her head to the side, a confused expression forming on her face. “What do you mean the crime we committed? We didn’t do any of this to you.”
The prisoner’s hand trembled as she looked up to Mrs. Cloud. “You… you what?”
“God I hate repeating myself for people,” Mrs. Cloud sighed.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDN’T DO THIS?! WHO SEPARATED ME FROM MY DAUGHTER?! WHO KEPT ME LOCKED IN THERE FOR LONGER THAN MY SENTENCE?! WHO IS THE ONE THAT BROKE APART MY FAMILY?!” The prisoner yelled.
Mrs. Cloud’s eyes narrowed as she stared at the prisoner. “I’m going to have to start burning the tongues off people like you. Such a loud sound is so disruptive to the company. ” She pushed past her bodyguards and stood in front of the prisoner. “Not even burning her tongue will do it. I’ll just crush her vocal cords.”
The prisoner shivered, her eyes finally making contact with Mrs. Cloud’s. She trembled, her hands immediately starting to shudder and her eyes shaking.
“W-what are you doing?” Juan muttered, stepping away from Mrs. Cloud. “W-why are you coming closer to me?”
Mrs. Cloud didn’t even mutter a word and Juan felt oppressed. Like she placed directly under Mrs. Cloud’s fingers and being played with.
“Why’re you backing away now?” Mrs. Cloud chuckled her violet eyes running up and down Juan. “who was the one talking up all the shit just a second ago? The ground? Cuz’ it’s looking a lot more steady than you do right now.”
“Shut up,” Juan spat, stopping her walk backward.
“Pfft, no,” Mrs. Cloud chuckled. She looked at Juan, a smile forming on her face. “Should I tell you something?” she asked.
Juan didn’t flinch. She was using everything in her to not tremble as she stayed in eye contact with Mrs. Cloud. “What is it now? Are you going to make excuses as to why you didn’t do all this? Gonna act as if you didn’t bring hell to my family?”
“Today has been a long day, and it hasn’t even started yet. I’ve already met one person who makes my blood boil so hot and before I could even fully calm down, another pest comes to step in my way,” Mrs. Cloud sighed. She began to roll up her white sleeves and took off her jacket, tossing it to the secretary behind her. “I’ve been on fucking edge this entire time, trying to keep my anger down but now you came right in time to push me off the edge.”
Juan trembled when she caught the glare in Mrs. Cloud’s eyes. It was dark. It was just depth behind her violet eyes. There was no light in her eyes but just the blankest stare that peered straight at her, reducing her entirety with just a glare.
“So, with that in mind,” Mrs. Cloud smiled, pulling her hair up into a ponytail. She let out a sigh when she was done and rolled up her sleeves another level. Her head tilted to the side and she smiled. “You won’t mind letting me get off some steam right?”
“Steam? Do I look like some punching bag,” Juan snapped, her jaw clenching.
“You act like one. They are extremely dumb you know. Made for the only reason to subdue harsh emotions on a human’s mind. They stand there and hang, holding grudges against the people that punch them when that’s their purpose in the first place,” Mrs. Cloud smiled.
Juan’s lips quivered, Mrs. Clou’d violet eyes digging into her mind. “You’re fucking crazy,”
“Thank you,” Mrs. Cloud smiled. “I pride myself in being a madwoman you know? You become like that after you deal with pests that only know how to bite back at the hands that saved them.”
“Bite back at the hand that feeds me?” Juan chuckled. “Feeding me what? Poison.”
“No. Feeding you a life,” Mrs. Cloud’s smile reduced to a thin line. “Since it doesn’t look like you want it, I’ll take it right back.”
Juan grinned, holding the firelighter in her hand like a weapon. “Knock yourself out, barbie.”
