Spirit Guardian Summoning - Chapter 82 Juicy Rewards
The group of youth followed the old man for an hour until they reached an entrance to a wood.
Trees as tall as skyscrapers suggested that the place was a wood because a heavy fog covered the entrance and prevented people from being able to perceive its depths.
It seemed that a formidable array covered this place to prevent spies and unwanted people from entering.
“This is one of the three Sacred Lands owned by the Viper Sect, you will have your test inside.”
“The Sacred Land is full of juicy rewards for young people like you, but danger lurks in every corner, as numerous magical beasts have grown over the years in these areas rich in spiritual energy. The Sect eliminates the most powerful magical beasts every couple of years but there is always one that avoids hunting, be careful inside and come back in a week. ” The Elder seemed too exhausted to explain more, he took some jade slips and they landed in the youths hands.
“All you should know is right there, I’ll be back in a week and your next challenge will be decided.”The Elder left these words before he left.
Rainer used his jade slip to gather all the required information.
A lot of information flowed from the jade slip to his consciousness, from the types of beasts he could find here to the spiritual herbs growing in the Sacred Land.
“Unbelievable, this place has such a large amount of spiritual herbs!” Rainer thought with emotion, as the jade slip pointed out, everything one found would be his property!
“This is a great opportunity to gather cultivation resources and temper oneself.” Rainer muttered, wishing to enter as soon as possible.
What he didn’t know was that someone else was just as excited as he was about the test news…
…
“Good luck inside there Rainer, it’s a pity we can’t form groups…we could rob all the other participants!” Said Tyrant as he kicked a rock throwing it away at a distance.
“How will they know if we form groups?” Rainer asked.
“You’re not very smart, are you? Everyone here has their badges on them, if two people stay together for a while, the badge will emit an alarm and the elders will know you were cheating. “Tyrant explained.
“You should not think of throwing your badge unless you know where you have come from, many believed they could deceive the Elders and were never found hehehehe… “Tyrant laughed as he placed his badge on his pendant.
Rainer followed suit and placed his badge on his sword handle so it would always stay with him.
“Junior disciples, we meet again.” The melodious senior Yunli’s voice sounded behind the disciples group.
The scar that crossed her right eye could be ugly for many but the unique charm of this young lady eclipsed any ‘flaw’.
“I have the task today of being on guard over this Sacred Land, I hope there will be no problems,” Yunli said as she looked sharply at the young disciples.
“…”
No one said anything, they were already eager to enter into this magical place and plunder its treasures!
“I wish you luck, this opportunity is unique to each disciple, many of you will never set foot on this land again.” When she saw what no one cared about her, she responded with arrogance as if she were an angry child.
Senior Yunli approached the fog barrier as she pulled out a small paper lantern in which a purple fire burned, after touching the fog, it opened a path large enough for two people to enter.
“Go ahead, and remember that killing fellow Sect members is punished by death.” Yunli said before further expanding the woods entrance.
Many people ran to be the first to enter and have a better chance of getting greater treasures while others quietly walked in.
One could not know what awaited them beyond the fog, the safest course was to be prudent and get an idea of what was out there.
Instead of rushing in like everyone else, Rainer decided to ask someone more experienced than him .
“Senior, which places are the best in this Sacred Land?” Rainer asked Yunli.
“…?”
She looked at him with a smile before answering.
“Since you are the only one who has come to ask, I strongly recommend you to go to the east, it is the most rewarding place…but also the most dangerous! There is a lot of toxic miasma covering the area, if you are not fast enough, you will die from poison…” Said Yunli before urging Rainer to enter into the Sacred Land.
“Thank you for the advice, senior.” Rainer bowed and thanked Yunli for the inconvenience.
Shortly afterwards, Rainer’s figure disappeared after the fog extended back through the entrance.
“I should have told him that besides the toxic miasma there is the most powerful magical beast’s nest of the Sacred Land… well, he’ll find out…” Said Yunli before putting away the paper lantern and informing the elders that her task was fulfilled.
