Spirit Guardian Summoning - Chapter 88 Against The Sword And The Wall
“Aahhhg!”
Rainer was able to hear Kirios’ cry of pain from afar, he couldn’t help but think he deserved it.
“Try not to get into so many problems in your next life…” Rainer muttered as he walked through the dark woods without any guidance or direction.
After a few minutes of fleeing, Rainer arrived at a swamp covered with toxic ponds and miasma, of course, it could not compare to the zombie’s toxicity level.
“This is probably the spot senior Yunli told me about.” Rainer thought as he looked around.
In the toxic ponds huge bubbles formed and burst after reaching a certain size, the withered trees and the thick miasma fog would make anyone sane think twice before entering this place.
“I can’t go back, the safest way is across this toxic swamp…” Rainer thought as he entered such a lifeless environment.
Although his body was more resistant than normal humans, Rainer was surprised because miasma didn’t inconvenience him, he was glad he didn’t have to waste his spiritual energy to form a coat around his body and avoid any contact with it.
Noting that his body was not suffering from any anomalies, Rainer sighed happily, but could not help thinking how his resistance to poisons had increased in just a single day.
“…!”
Remembering something, Rainer searched his bag for a few minutes without much success, the corpse fungus had disappeared!
“This is the reason I could handle the poisoning so easily…” Rainer thought while regretting the fact of having wasted such a precious spiritual herb, if he had collected a dark vine and the core of a poisonous magical beast, its effects would have been even greater.
“I can’t cry over spilled milk, the most important thing now is to survive!”
…
After Rainer’s arrival in the toxic swamp, a pair of sharp, yellow eyes watched as the young man entered its territory without any concern from the surface of one of several ponds.
The owner of the eyes frowned as it plunged into the green waters, its long tail covered with thorns resembling vertebrae whipped the water’s surface before disappearing into the bottom of the swamp.
…
“This place is a gold mine!”Said Rainer as he picked a Rose of Death, a spiritual herb capable of paralyzing anyone who was pricked by its thorns, without exception!
If you touched one of its thorns without protecting yourself with your spiritual energy, you would be paralyzed for hours depending on your cultivation level and resistance.
This was a perfect murder tool, too bad it only had 3 thorns, indicating that it was less than twelve years old as it would grow a thorn every three years after it blossoms.
On his way through this lifeless swamp, Rainer collected numerous spiritual herbs that he had never seen nor would recognize if it were not for the guidance the Sect gave him before entering.
Not all the herbs he collected were poisonous, after all, poison can also be a medicine.
Rainer enjoyed it like a child who had just received his pay in a candy store, there were so many colors and flavors that was impossible for him to choose!
While Rainer enjoyed the ‘sweets’, he didn’t notice that some ponds beyond him, a pair of cold eyes looked at him with murderous intentions.
…
That brat was ransacking all its property!
So many years of caring and protection for a young human to take away its harvest! Many of these herbs would allow him to breakthrough the next cultivation stage!
The magical beast decided to go out and split this disrespectful brat in two pieces with its powerful jaw!
Splash!
The stagnant water splashed around, alerting Rainer who witnessed an alligator as big as an adult coming out of a pond.
“Fuck, I was so distracted picking up spiritual herbs that I forgot this was the territory of a powerful magical beast!”
Without further ado, Rainer turned to run as he had done during the last night, but further on, walking through the miasma, a pale figure covered with sharp bones was quickly approaching!
“Damn it, I’m surrounded!” Rainer thought as he looked for an alternative to this dead end, he was done running!
…
