Splitting the Heavens - Chapter 1100: Killing Yan Wujiu!
Along the way to the Star Beast Nest, Lan Zhengfeng stopped abruptly. He took out the Tracking Compass from his sleeves and some traces of Shang Xia’s aura from when they fought the first time. He quickly discovered Shang Xia’s tracks.
“Indeed… He has been rushing in the direction of the Star Beast Nest the entire time. He didn’t change directions at all and from the looks of it, he’s planning to return to the Spirit Luxuriant World.” Lan Zhengfeng frowned before keeping the Tracking Compass.
He thought that after Shang Xia left the Spirit Faith World, he would wander around to conduct surveillance. After all, he felt that Shang Xia barely managed to gain an understanding of the Spirit Faith World after his short infiltration. There were still the Azure Intellect World and Azure Roaming World beside them…
The high-level experts of the Spirit Faith World weren’t frogs at the bottom of the well. They had a basic understanding of the sea of stars and they understood that their system of ascension by creating Elysium Gates was unique to themselves.
It was especially so after the Spirit Faith World started to integrate the cultivators of the Azure Worlds into themselves. They ignored the costs and maintenance of 3 Elysium Gates, allowing the power of the worlds to interchange freely. That might be why the experts of the Azure Intellect World and Azure Roaming Worlds weren’t affected by the Spirit Faith World’s Will.
No matter which foreign expert encountered them, they would be drawn to look for the reason behind everything.
In the eyes of Lan Zhengfeng, Shang Xia was a very decisive person. He didn’t bother looking for the source of all the strangeness and chose to return to the Star Beast Nest. It seemed as though he was in a rush to return, and that made Lan Zhengfeng all the more anxious.
The other side seemed to ignore the largest secret of the Spirit Faith World and it made it clear that their ambitions were way larger than getting to the bottom of the matter itself. He might be going back to call for more people!
Lan Zhengfeng knew that he had to intercept the other party, or prayed that Yan Wujiu and True Immortal Zhu would be vigilant enough to hold their enemy back from returning to his world.
However…
Lan Zhengfeng felt that the person he was chasing was just flying far too quickly! No matter how hard he pushed himself, he failed to catch up to his target!
With Lan Zhengfeng praying that the others would be able to stop Shang Xia, Shang Xia had already returned to the space around the Star Beast Nest without anyone noticing him.
When he arrived, Yan Wujiu was still complaining to True Immortal Zhu about something. With the news of Shang Xia’s disappearance from the Spirit Faith World, he finally stopped and thought of destroying the Star Beast Nest.
Regardless of Yan Huayi or Lan Zhengfeng, everyone seemed to have realized that Yan Wujiu would go crazy and try to destroy the Star Beast Nest when he received the news of Shang Xia infiltrating their world back then, and they specially informed him not to make any rash moves.
True Immortal Zhu was helpless, but he could guess what Yan Huayi and Lan Zhengfeng’s intentions were when they warned them not to attack the Star Beast Nest recklessly. They had their plans for trying to keep the connection to another world!
He could only try to persuade Yan Wujiu to remain patient… After all, even though the Spirit Faith World didn’t know too much about other worlds, they discovered several Earth Stars, broken continents, and things of the like around the Three Worlds. However, they didn’t manage to find any power worthy of notice.
That was precisely why the Spirit Faith World wanted to maintain the connection with the Spirit Luxuriant World!
Moreover, the other party had already infiltrated them. Even if they destroyed the Star Beast Nest out of spite, they wouldn’t gain anything! However, the other side could lock on to them.
Back then, the Stargazers of the Spirit Emptiness World discovered their presence, bringing disaster upon them.
As such, after the 3 worlds managed to turn the tables around and destroy the Spirit Emptiness World, their hatred got the better of them and they killed every last Stargazer. As a result, they were unable to restore the shattered bits of the Stargazer inheritance they managed to find even after so long.
Otherwise… As long as they produced a single Stargazer, they would have been able to reverse calculate the direction of the spatial tunnel created by the Spirit Luxuriant World and locate the other party.
If that were to happen, they would be able to threaten each other at the very least and form some sort of mutual restraint. They wouldn’t be stuck in a passive state.
However… In the eyes of a maniac like Yan Wujiu, he was feeling extremely annoyed by the fact that he couldn’t do anything to the enemy. He even overlooked the fact that True Immortal Zhu beside him seemed to be deep in thought.
One fine day, Yan Wujiu was bored out of his mind and got too annoyed again. He went to mess around with the Star Beast Nest. The moment Huang Jinghan appeared, Yan Wujiu launched an attack without warning.
Huang Jinghan was also very wary. He was a mere first tier True Immortal, and he couldn’t be compared to Yan Wujiu. What was more, there was another second tier True Immortal from the Spirit Faith World who hadn’t showed up.
Even though he knew that Yan Wujiu was merely venting his frustrations, he didn’t dare to get too far away from the Star Beast Nest. He was prepared to turn around and flee the moment things didn’t look right.
Also, the reason he went to fight every time Yan Wujiu was because he understood that Yan Wujiu was merely venting his frustrations and didn’t intend to kill him. Also, he wanted to hone himself by fighting a stranger opponent.
Yan Wujiu released his domain and covered the space around the Star Beast Nest, leaving only Huang Jinghan to struggle with the support of the Star Beast Nest behind him.
The next moment, True Immortal Zhu, who had been watching Yan Wujiu go crazy, received a transmission from the Spirit Faith World.
When he noticed the contents of the transmission, his expression changed instantly and became a little unsteady.
By the time he finally managed to calm himself, True Immortal Zhu turned to look in the direction of the Star Beast Nest that had been dyed completely red by Yan Wujiu’s domain. A trace of guilt appeared in his eyes but it was quickly replaced by a resolute gaze. A hint of killing intent emerged, but it was quickly covered up.
The next moment, True Immortal Zhu’s state of mind became slightly affected. Even though he already released his divine soul to the limit, he couldn’t help but glance in the direction of the Spirit Faith World from time to time.
Not too long later, Huang Jinghan was forced back into the Star Beast Nest and Yan Wujiu finally returned after venting his frustrations. He quickly located True Immortal Zhu.
“Brother Zhu, did you receive any transmission recently? I wonder if they managed to find that outsider and drive him out of our world yet…”
Actually, Yan Wujiu asked similar questions many times already..
True Immortal Zhu’s expression was a little strange, but he quickly restrained himself. He mumbled in response, “True Immortal Yan personally took charge of our world. He’s a fourth tier True Immortal and if he managed to find the foreign expert, they wouldn’t be able to leave!”
Yan Wujiu sighed softly in response, “I understand… So you’re saying that they hadn’t discovered that foreign expert!”
True Immortal Zhu continued, “It’s said that the foreign expert has a secret art that allows him to change his aura. He was able to disguise himself as an expert of our world and wasn’t rejected by the World’s Will. Even the Tracking Compass failed to catch his tracks. However, according to True Immortal Yun Hu’s deductions, the foreign expert wouldn’t be able to fight after disguising himself. At the very least, he can’t fight experts at the same level as himself. Otherwise, he would reveal himself immediately.”
Yan Wujiu shook his head and sighed, “Even if that’s the case, all he wouldn’t be able to do in our world is to infiltrate the great powers. Everything else has basically been revealed…”
After a short discussion about the situation in the Spirit Faith World, they quickly changed the topic seeing as there weren’t any more reports.
According to what they did normally after Yan Wujiu picked a fight with the expert of the Spirit Luxuriant World, they would retreat and look for a spot to maintain surveillance before continuing to cultivate.
However, they didn’t leave immediately. Instead, they noticed a strange fluctuation in the distance before another transmission arrived. This time, it fell straight into Yan Wujiu’s hands.
Yan Wujiu couldn’t help but read its contents immediately. His expression changed instantly.
As True Immortal Zhu started at Yan Wujiu with a frosty expression from the side, Yan Wujiu roared angrily, “How Preposterous?!”
Perhaps it was because of his rage, but Yan Wujiu seemed to fail to control his Void Origin for the moment. Intense fluctuations filled the area around him and seemed to want to burn through the void.
True Immortal Zhu quickly retreated after feeling the fluctuations, and he immediately raised his guard. He even entered battle preparations.
Seeing True Immortal Zhu’s strong reaction, Yan Wujiu gasped in shock, “Brother Zhu, what are you doing?”
Yan Wujiu nearly forgot to respond and a look of unease flashed across his face.
Glancing at the transmission in his hand, Yan Wujiu raised an eyebrow and handed it over while shooting True Immortal Zhu a curious glance. “Brother Zhu, take a look!”
Looking at him hesitantly, True Immortal Zhu lowered his guard. He quickly read the contents of the transmission before revealing a face full of shock. Soon after, it was replaced by a complicated expression.
As it turned out, the transmission only informed Yan Wujiu of the destruction of the Guyuan Elysium. It didn’t say anything about the Ascendant Faction breaking off from the Native Faction.
The only other thing it spoke about was how Lan Zhengfeng was rushing over at the moment and hoped they would be able to continue locking down the space around the Star Beast Nest to prevent the foreign expert from returning to his world.
At the same time, they were to work together with Lan Zhengfeng when he arrived to destroy the Star Beast Nest.
“Brother Zhu, you seem really weird right now…” Yan Wujiu mumbled at the side.
Understanding that he had already startled Yan Wujiu, True Immortal Zhu could only force a laugh, “You have been extremely irritable these few days and your inner qi would leak from time to time. I was afraid you would suffer from cultivation deviation and acted a little too intensely.”
“Is that so?” Yan Wujiu mumbled. “My emotions are in a real mess these days… Brother Zhu, even you could tell that I was about to lose control?”
Before True Immortal Zhu could respond, he felt a familiar aura entering the range of his divine soul.
Yan Wujiu’s voice soon followed, “Brother Zhu, did you discover something?!”
Seeing as True Immortal Zhu wasn’t replying, Yan Wujiu also released his divine soul and quickly caught the aura that was rushing their way.
“Huh? He’s moving really quickly towards us!”
Ignoring how strange True Immortal Zhu was acting, Yan Wujiu turned to rush at Shang Xia.
A vicious light flashed through True Immoral Zhu’s eyes as he stood behind Yan Wujiu. Looking at Yan Wujiu’s back, he slowly retrieved a Lightning Bell.
“Brother Zhu, help me out here! That foreign expert has combat abilities similar to True Immortal Lan. We can’t allow him to enter the Star Beast Nest no matter what! True Immortal Lan is also on his way here to help us!” Yan Wujiu’s voice rang in True Immortal Zhu’s mind.
“Relax, I’m coming!” True Immortal Zhu grunted once before following behind Yan Wujiu.
As Shang Xia closed in on them, he started waving his Stone Rod when he was still some distance away. He drew on the power of the world and when they were still hundreds of miles apart, he slammed his Stone Rod down at Yan Wujiu.
A strange cry escaped Yan Wujiu’s lips and he released his domain instantly. Before Shang Xia’s Stone Rod arrived, his domain had already slammed into Yan Wujiu’s. A powerful burst of light emerged when their domains clashed, and it was as though a mini sun was created.
Yan Wujiu’s instantaneous burst was powerful and it even managed to slow Shang Xia down slightly.
However, the Stone Rod arrived all the same and the shattered space was immediately swallowed by a sea of flames. From afar, it was as though the sun had been blown apart.
That might not be a sun, but it was Yan Wujiu’s domain.
Even though that was the case and Yan Wujiu was spitting out mouthfuls of blood, he wasn’t actually too seriously injured. He still maintained a portion of his combat strength.
Also, he wasn’t fighting alone anyway! All he had to do was to withstand Shang Xia’s first strike before his companion would take over so that he could recover a bit of energy… After all, there was a second tier True Immortal Zhu fighting alongside him, or so he thought…
After stopping the strike, Yan Wujiu intentionally stepped aside to let True Immortal Zhu take over his position to counterattack, but a sudden burst of killing intent from behind him caused the hair on his neck to stand erect.
“Brother Zhu, you…” Yan Wujiu forced himself to turn around and noticed the twisted expression on True Immortal Zhu’s face. There was a trace of shame hidden somewhere in there, but that didn’t change what was happening.
“Brother Yan… I’m sorry!”
The Lightning Bell tore through Yan Wujiu’s hastily reconstructed domain. Just as it was about to slam into him, Yan Wujiu tossed out a talisman and along with a loud scraping sound, a formless wall that appeared started to crack.
It bought enough time for Yan Wujiu to escape before shattering completely.
“Brother Zhu, why…?” Yan Wujiu wanted to flee the moment he avoided death, but he was unresigned to his fate. He wanted to get to the bottom of True Immortal Zhu’s betrayal.
True Immortal Zhu remained indifferent to Yan Wujiu’s questioning despite his feelings and he quickly reminded Shang Xia who was quickly approaching, “True Immortal Shang, please remember to seal off this space lest he sends out a transmission! Lan Zhengfeng is already on his way!”
Shang Xia received the reminder but did whatever he felt like anyway. He didn’t seem to be in a rush as the Stone Rod in his hand shot out again.
Through the void, a powerful streak of lightning emerged. Along with a loud blast that reverberated through space, the tip of the Stone Rod that was covered in reddish-gold lightning bolts poked out from the space before Yan Wujiu. At the same time, Shang Xia’s powerful energy emerged and turned everything around the tip of the Stone Rod into a region of chaos.
