Splitting the Heavens - Chapter 1264: Fifth Tier True Immortal!
With Hua Yu using his divine weapon to take the strike, he managed to prevent the sneak attack from reaching Shang Xia.
However, the person who arrived was clearly no fool. Even though his attack was stopped, he didn’t expose his position and remained hiding in the void.
A soft grunt rang in everyone’s ears the next second as a ray of starlight illuminated the murky dark region of space they were in and revealed the figure of the hidden True Immortal.
The second he discovered his position was revealed, the True Immortal waved the fan-like treasure in his hand and scattered the starlight that lit up his position like a powerful beacon.
Yin Jingxu was also sent flying by the powerful wave.
Even though Yin Jingxu was blown away, Hua Yu felt that a great opportunity had arrived. He tossed his silver bowl at the revealed True Immortal.
Hummm… Buzz…
The silver bowl tore through the void rapidly and the soundwaves it emitted could affect one’s divine soul.
The revealed True Immortal was caught off guard by the beam of starlight summoned by Yin Jingxu, and he was a little flustered when faced with Hua Yu’s sudden offensive.
With his divine soul affected by the strange sounds emitted by the silver bowl, he failed to raise his fan-like treasure to unleash his powerful martial arts.
Helpless, he could only raise his treasure to slam it directly into the silver bowl.
His weapon was able to create the strange black line that damaged the silver bowl earlier, but it didn’t look too sturdy.
Normally, Hua Yu’s weapon had a proper use and he wouldn’t be using it like a rock to be thrown at his enemies all the time. However, in this instance, it was much stronger than the fan-like treasure and it was more than appropriate for him to use it to smash his opponent’s weapon.
Swish…
At the very last second, the fan-wielding True Immortal parried the silver bowl and sent it flying into the distance. He was fortunate it didn’t smash directly into each other, but the recoil struck him hard and he was forced to stumble backwards.
Shang Xia, who had been waiting for an opportunity all while fighting his opponent, made his move.
Even though his opponent was Yu Liantai, a fourth tier True Immortal who was one step away from the fifth tier and had gained his reputation more than a hundred years ago, Shang Xia completely suppressed him.
Fortunately, thanks to his deep foundations and vast experience, Yu Liantai was able to prevent Shang Xia from obtaining a quick victory. He defended with all his might to drag the battle out to create openings for his fellow comrades.
Under such circumstances, Shang Xia could only try a new method if he wished to turn the situation around.
After being in so many battles, Shang Xia was clear that even though he held the absolute advantage in strength, the other side had way more True Immortals!
If he was unable to quickly deal with the situation, the True Immortals from the Spirit Abundance World would only continue to arrive to assist Yu Liantai.
Actually, Shang Xia suppressed Yu Liantai the moment the battle started. He had also been storing excess energy to deal with anyone who would appear, of which Hua Jianlou was the first to appear.
However, he was swiftly intercepted by Kou Chongxue and due to the astonishing level of their sword art, Shang Xia was unable to find an opening to deal a decisive blow to end Hua Jianlou.
Moreover, Hua Jianlou was no weakling. Coupled with his craftiness, Shang Xia knew that he would only be wasting his energy if he tried to take Hua Jianlou down.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, the True Immortals of the Spirit Abundance World were aplenty. Even after Kou Chongxue held Hua Jianlou back, another third tier True Immortal quickly arrived and tried to launch a sneak attack.
Hua Yu was helping Shang Xia due to their alliance, and Yin Jingxu also displayed his loyalty to the Spirit Luxuriant World by facing their common enemy. Even though he knew that he was far from capable of stopping the other party and didn’t know if Hua Yu would help him, he made his move without hesitation.
With Hua Yu’s sudden entry, they worked pretty well together and flustered a third tier True Immortal. Because of that, Shang Xia also managed to find an opportunity.
Shang Xia, who had been storing up his energy for some time, slapped a complex hand seal into the void. He unleashed one of the 2 sixth rank martial arts he knew, the Twin Fusion Palm!
Even though the limit of the Twin Fusion Palm was the third tier of the Martial Void Realm and it was clearly weaker than most attacks Shang Xia could unleash, it was perfect due to how difficult it was to detect.
When Shang Xia unleashed the Twin Fusion Palm, the third tier True Immortal felt a wave of weakness as 30 to 40 percent of the inner qi in his dantian disappeared. He couldn’t even resist the counterattack of Yin Jingxu and Hua Yu.
Yin Jingxu might be a first tier True Immortal, but he was no incompetent fool. Even though he didn’t know why the third tier True Immortal in front of him would suddenly turn weaker, he wouldn’t let up and give up a chance to beat a weakened opponent.
With his body as an intermediary, Yin Jingxu drew over dense starlight and locked the third tier True Immortal’s weapon for a split second. Hua Yu tossed his silver bowl that returned and pierced through the third tier True Immortal’s domain before slamming into his body.
“Argh… Pffttt…”
The third tier True Immortal spat out mouthfuls of blood and lost all combat strength as soon as Hua Yu’s weapon slammed into him.
Even though he was injured, he still knew what he was doing. He used the force to retreat, running away as quickly as possible.
Yin Jingxu and Hua Yu wanted to give chase, but Hua Jianlou released several powerful rays of sword qi that stopped them.
“Hmph, I’m your opponent!” Another powerful sword qi emerged from the side and sundered the rays Hua Jianlou sent to stop them. Kou Chongxue’s voice came soon after. “True Immortal Hua, are you really in a position to be distracted even though you’re fighting me?”
In order to help the third tier True Immortal of his world get away, Hua Jianlou had to turn away and allow Kou Chongxue to snatch the initiative of the battle.
Kou Chongxue’s sword qi might not look as flashy and even looked a little clumsy, but it contained the essence of the sword.
His moves that looked like it was executed by cultivators who just started on the way of the sword were executed with his extreme mastery. Even Hua Jianlou would reveal shocked expressions from time to time.
With Kou Chongxue starting his counterattack, Hua Jianlou wasn’t able to find any weaknesses or openings. It was as though he was fighting a massive mountain that was growing by the second and the pressure he was feeling made it hard to breathe.
Even with Kou Chongxue quickly dragging Hua Jianlou back into battle, Hua Yu and Yin Jingxu lost their best chance to kill the third tier True Immortal of the Spirit Abundance World.
Before they had another chance to join hands against him after their failed attempt to kill his companion, Hua Jianlou quickly shifted the battlefield to prevent himself from becoming the next target.
Hua Yu and Yin Jingxu didn’t know what to do next.
Eventually, Kou Chongxue’s voice rang in Yin Jingxu’s mind. “Bring True Immortal Hua Yu to meet up with the True Immortals of the Spirit Thistle World!”
Yin Jingxu was surprised at first, but he quickly nodded with a simple gesture to Hua Yu who wasn’t far away. They quickly passed through the battlefield before disappearing into the void.
At the same time, Shang Xia, who had been suppressing Yu Liantai the entire time, increased the intensity of his attacks once again, pushing his opponent into the pits of despair.
While he was unleashing his Six Harmony Rod Technique, he suddenly reached out to toss an Ice Ruins Talisman into the void. As soon as it was activated, a frosty domain descended. Yu Liantai, who had already been forced to his limit, was nearly unable to maintain his domain from all the pressure he faced.
At the very last second, Yu Liantai shattered the void beside him with a powerful punch before wrapping his cape around him. The next second, he appeared thousands of miles away, without his cape. The only thing left in his original spot was the treasure that allowed him to escape, but the cape was rotting away very quickly.
When he reappeared thousands of miles away, his face was pale and he was taking quick and shallow breaths. It was clear his escape technique wasn’t without repercussions, and the pained look on his face, when he stared at his cape, showed that the treasure was far from ordinary.
Shang Xia’s final attack struck nothing. Even though he was disappointed, he wasn’t surprised. Yu Liantai was a high-level True Immortal of the Spirit Abundance World. If he didn’t have a few life-saving treasures on him, that would truly come as a surprise.
With Yu Liantai escaping, Hua Jianlou who was locked in an intense battle with Kou Chongxue disengaged to flee.
Kou Chongxue wanted to stop him from letting Shang Xia enter the battlefield to end the annoying fellow once and for all, and to weaken the Spirit Abundance World by killing a strong expert, but it seemed as though the difference between Kou Chongxue and Hua Jianlou didn’t allow either side to do as they wished. If any of them planned to leave, the other would have a hard time trying to stop them.
Seeing as he couldn’t stop Hua Jianlou, Kou Chongxue no longer bothered with him and quickly returned to regroup with Shang Xia. The moment they met, he spoke in a low voice, “We have to go now. They have more than a single fifth tier True Immortal here…”
Shang Xia might not have shown a change in emotions, but he quickly followed Kou Chongxue to rush in the direction Yin Jingxu had left earlier.
Behind them, the void that had been blown to pieces with many spatial cracks all over the place due to the battle from before froze. It was as though a new ruler of the space had arrived as the disturbances disappeared.
Kou Chongxue felt the hair on the back of his neck rising and he growled, “It really is a fifth tier True Immortal!”
