Stacking My Abilities - Chapter 31: The Golden Plate (8)
Up the hill, there was a small fortress made from logs. 3 walls. Got a cliff as the fourth wall at the back.
[Eagle Sight]
[Aura Vision]
[Threat Detection]
[Beast Instinct]
…
…
Jeff’s vision zoomed once… twice…
He could clearly see glowing human figure inside that fortress now. “Just a B-rank huh…”
In this short period of time, moving like a blur to the watchmen, Jeff had already reached the front gates.
Rising his foot, Jeff kicked onto those gates.
Bam!
The gates blew right open.
“Intruder!” The watchmen finally shouted out their alert.
Looking inside, the bandits were just doing everyday activities.
Inside the fortress, some bandits were relaxing. Drinking alcohol. Playing cards,. Eating snacks.
In the open court, six of them were training for combat. It was a 3 vs 3 match.
There was about 30 of them in total.
The bandits in the court froze in shock for a moment. But in a snap, they had understood the situation. Holding their training weapons, they charged at Jeff.
Yet, they were sent back into the air at an even faster speed.
“Freeze!” A bandit stumbled through a door and stepped into this open court.
A girl was held hostage before this bandit. Hazel colored hair. She had a pretty face. Her shirt was half torn-open, revealing her shoulder and half her bra.
The bandit held the girl by her jaw. That dude also pressed a blade against the girl’s neck, leaving a thin trail of blood oozing down.
The girl trembled in fear and cold.
“Freeeeze… Freeze?” Jeff chuckled. “Look. I’m just a volunteer who’s not getting paid, and forced into this situation.”
Jeff took a step forward. “So I think I’ll go with the Russian method.”
“Alright. Alright. I yield.” The bandit let go of the girl.
That girl stumbled forward. Quickly gaining balance, she ran towards Jeff as if she was trying to flee from that bandit.
A trail of metallic reflections was drawn into the air.
Jeff stopped the girl’s blade with two fingers.
“Impossible…” The girl widened her eyes.
“Well. Your energy level sold you off.” Jeff shrugged. “And there is no other hostages around.”
Yep. This girl was the only B-rank in the house. Others were C-ranks and mostly D-ranks.
“Who are you?!” The girl tried to yank her dagger out of Jeff’s fingers. To her disbelief, she failed.
“I am,” Jeff squinted. “Jeff.”
Twisting his fingers, that blade snapped in half.
The girl let go of her broken dagger and jumped back. While still in air, the girl threw a cloud of pink dust at Jeff.
It landed!
Seeing this result, the girl snickered with a victorious smile.
Yet, a blade shot right through the pink cloud. It stabbed right into her shoulder.
The pink cloud quickly settled. Jeff had been coated with a layer of pink dust now. He kind of looked like a sugar-coated donut.
Holding the blade in her shoulder, the girl chuckled. “Good. Very good. Looks like we have a strong one here.”
The girl licked her lips. “Do you feel the tingling burning sensation now?”
“If you kneel down and swear allegiance to me, maybe I’ll-”
“Nope. Not at all.” Jeff looked around. “I kind of happened to have poison immunity.”
“And your poison never got to me.” The mana in Jeff’s mana shield exploded.
The mana surrounding Jeff exploded into a torrent. Standing there with a stick resting on his shoulder, Jeff was crisp clean again.
“How?!” The girl widened her eyes in disbelief. It’s as if her worldview had been shuttered.
Some bandits held up their weapons with shaking hands, panting for breath in fear, ready for a final charge.
Others turned around and fled already.
“Alright. That’s enough.” With an open palm, Jeff raised a hand as if he was lifting a plate.
There’s no fun in this. It’s more of a chore than a fight. Yep. Jeff got bored.
As Jeff raised his hand, streams of snow slowly flowed into the air, forming blobs.
Jeff made a grasping gesture. Those blobs of snow instantly tightened up.
Jeff pointed forward.
A series of popping in the air could be heard.
Some bandits were hiding indoors. Some took cover behind crates.
Yet, in a blink, snow-like ice balls had all landed on their targets.
*Thump* *Thump* *Thump*
Knocked out bandits started hitting the snowy ground.
What could Jeff say. Telekinesis sure made his life convenient.
Extending his hand at a pile of snow. Jeff made a sweeping motion. That pile of snow slid out of the way, revealing hidden metal doors.
Jeff pointed his hand at that metal door and yanked.
That metal door instantly popped out of its frames.
“Well. You are all safe and free now.” Jeff looked past the door. A group of people stared at Jeff with clueless eyes.
By the looks of it, the sound of battle had gathered these curious folks to the door.
Jeff’s words took a moment to sink in.
Some broke into tears.
“Thank you for saving us.” Some whimpered.
“YEEESSS!” Some shouted and threw punches into the air.
Some ran out, greedily breathing in fresh air.
Like an endless stream, people started to leave that entrance.
Some children came up to John, holding food in their cupped hands.
Purplish berries that resembled strawberries. Kinda.
Some hairy and grey vegetable leaves.
Some arm-sized mushrooms.
‘So this is a black food mine.’ Jeff smiled at the children and shook his head.
Finally, everyone had gotten out.
Looking at the fainted bandits on the ground, the eyes of those poor survivors became bloodshot.
“These guys are cold-blooded murderers!”
“They killed my mom!”
“Please sentence them to death!”
“Kill them!”
“Hey.” Jeff raised his hands and shrugged. “You guys are the ones who have beef with these bandits. You guys don’t need to consult with me on what to do.”
“Also.” Jeff clapped loudly. “The battle is over. You guys can come in now.”
Red Fang jumped into the court. Wearing a humbled expression, this guy threw two fainted bandit scouts onto the ground. After witnessing Jeff in battle, this dude’s gaze became even more reverent, even hot.
Jeff: ‘… Ok…?’
‘So I got yet another fan boy?’
Jeff looked down the hill with [Aura Vision]. Yep. Spellbreaker decided to stay behind, just in case.
Jimmy, the tour guide dragged that half-naked warrior by his ankle. With a heave, Jimmy threw that warrior into this court as well.
“Looks like we are safe now. Thank you so much for removing the bandit threat for us.”
“Uh huh… Now that’s over…” Jeff’s expression towards Jimmy turned cold. “Why?”
