Stacking My Abilities - Chapter 39: Greed (2)
A leg popped into Atlas’ view.
Bam!
The crowd couldn’t catch the movements of this battle, but they could see the results.
To the crowd’s disbelief, Atlas flew down the street like a cannonball, quickly disappearing in their sight.
The smite team couldn’t believe this result either.
Slap! Slap! Slap! Slap!
The smite members flew into condo buildings. Their mind blanked out in shock for an instance. And Lord Trample caught this opportunity.
“Now. Archer…” Lord Trample looked down the street. The girl in orange armor was still recovering.
There was only a lone archer in purple who had battle capability now.
The archer glanced past Lord Trample for an instance. It’s the denizens of the sanctuary there…
However…
Without further hesitation, he grabbed the girl in orange and jumped back, making distance, or fleeing.
Lord Trample turned back to the city hall. “And you again…”
Yep. Another receptionist lady had appeared. Once again, she stood in Lord Trample’s way.
“Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.” The crowd stirred up. People were pressing their way out.
Taking a look, it’s a dozen receptionist ladies with identical looks.
“Oohhhmm…” Lord Trample crossed his arms in thought.
Then this monster looked up.
Looking at the dome of this five-stories city hall, the air up there started to swirl, quickly building up to a cyclone.
Suddenly, At the eye of the cyclone, a pillar of light shot down from the sky.
The cyclone exploded into a gust of air, knocking some snow down that dome.
“Oop. Careful.” Jeff held Alice tighter in his arm.
Looking around, he was at the top of the city hall now.
Looking below him, it’s a myriad of people, all packed up into this block. These guys were all looking up at him.
Some were pointing at him. They seemed to have recognized Jeff.
Others just stared at him with clueless gazes. Who the heck is this guy?
Most were just scared. Does that monster’s promises still stand? Should they run away now? To where?
Down the street, some knights and hunters gathered up.
And further down the street, a five-meters tall monster was looking at him. Walking at an even pace, it was moving up the streets.
Jeff’s time was limited, but not that urgent. That monster was still some distance away.
With a few hops, Liam jumped up onto the dome.
“Hope I’m not too late to the party.” Jeff fixated his gaze at that towering monster.
If his guess was correct, this was his opponent.
“Not at all.” Liam shrugged. “You didn’t even need to save anyone at the last second.”
“And here’s the better part. We didn’t even need to explain our Mutually Guaranteed Destruction plan to mister Lord Trample over there.”
“The best part. We didn’t even need to EXECUTE our Mutually Guaranteed Destruction plan.” Liam didn’t hold down his voice. Clearly, his message wasn’t entirely directed towards Jeff.
“Uh huh…” Jeff slowly nodded. “We seriously need to talk about this later.”
Inside his mind, Jeff ranted a little. ‘Bluff or serious. Either way, we had a crazy plan like that? How come I wasn’t informed?’
Ignoring Jeff’s dissatisfied reactions, Liam nodded and tapped his temple.
Liam’s voice popped up inside Jeff’s mind. ‘Here is what we know about this monster…’
In Jeff’s mind, Jeff viewed the entire battle from Liam’s perspective. As the scenes moved forward, Liam narrated the situation and his analysis.
Yep. This was yet another convenient innate abilities of Liam.
In a second, the information overview was all done. There’s a limit to how fast people could speak. But there’s no limit to how fast a person could think.
Liam could send the info quickly. Jeff could digest the info quickly.
“Alright sweetheart. Your man has to go to work now.” Jeff nodded at what he’d heard.
Alice rolled her eyes. “Stay safe.”
The girl jumped off the top of the dome.
With a push forward, Jeff jumped off as well. Drawing a wide arc in the air, Jeff landed on the streets.
Seeing that someone was fearlessly confronting that monster, the crowd stirred up.
“It’s the Mission Machine. He can do it!”
“But what can one man do? Even Atlas lost in one blow.”
“You think he’s stronger than the entire Smite team?”
“Does anyone know what’s going on outside?! Please! Anyone!”
“No. I believe in him. Mission Machine is our strongest hunter. A man with 100% success rate. He won’t let us down this time either!”
“Go Jeff! Enter your Lightbulb mode! And kick his motherfishing ass!”
Yep. This was Everly shouting.
“Yeah! Show that thing what we are made of!”
“Don’t let us down!”
“If you win, I’ll be your fan for my entire life!”
“Please! You have to win!”
Hearing these loud encouragements, Jeff paced his breathing.
The knights in front of Jeff parted to the side. Opening a path for Jeff, these guys didn’t say anything. They just stared at Jeff with trusting gazes and knocked a beat on their armor.
Walking up to that tower warrior, Jeff quickly observed his opponent up and down.
“Ohhmm… So YOU are the final boss.” Lord Trample grabbed his warhammer from his back. “I take my words back. This might be the strongest human settlement after all.”
Jeff locked gazes with this monster. This was the strongest being he’d ever met.
About the same physical strength and mana level as him… Also, looked like it’s capable of detecting enemy threat level as well.
Jeff’s detection abilities were all reporting the same results: This thing was dangerous. Capable of posing lethal threats.
Certainly a worthy opponent.
‘Our attributes are about the same…’
‘But I can stack abilities!’ Jeff squinted and lowered his body.
“Alright. Let’s take it outside.” Jeff shot towards that monster like a cannonball.
While in air, like turning on a light bulb, Jeff suddenly emitted a golden glow. Extending a hand, a staff instantly popped into existence.
Whack!
