Stacking My Abilities - Chapter 40: Greed (3)
Fighting at supernatural-peak physique level, the world was an entirely different place.
Everything looked like they were frozen in air. As Jeff shot towards that minotaur, the snow below Jeff blasted into the air.
Yet, it’s as if these snow were moving in slow motion. Gradually, the snow came to a freezing halt in the air.
It’s a world confined to touch and sight. No smells and no sound.
Moving through the air felt like breaking through a solid all the time.
And this was after activating his wind-type abilities!
Without abilities on… Jeff didn’t want to feel that level of air resistance again.
In a blink, Jeff flew through this standstill world.
The minotaur’s reaction was fast. In this standstill world, it could still move at an average speed.
It managed to move its warhammer handle into Jeff’s strike path.
Jeff’s small staff collided into that giant handle.
A successful block.
However, the handle of that warhammer still slammed into the minotaur’s chest.
That’s not all. The force from that strike carried over into the minotaur’s body.
In an instance, that monster was knocked into the air like a baseball.
The returning force sent Jeff back onto the ground. Squatting a little, Jeff shot into the air, following that Minotaur’s projectile path.
In the eyes of the crowd, the two simply left a boom sound and a wild torrent. Then the two disappeared.
Seeing this result, the sanctuary fell silent.
Some cupped their hands together and murmured prayers.
Some clenched their fists, unreconciled with the situation.
Unable to determine your own life or death… It’s a tough reality to sink in. However…
In the town hall building, standing at the fifth floor balcony, the keyholder turned to Liam. “Initiate the Evacuation protocols.”
No matter how dire the situation may be… Don’t stop fighting…
…
Inside a small park, drinking from a freezing cold pond, a deer-like mist monster suddenly froze in place. Its ears wiggled a little.
The deer suddenly looked up.
A figure had flew by right above its head.
Crack!
Lord Trample’s back collided with a tree. A dump of snow fell onto this monster.
Landing on two hooves, sliding back, this monster plowed two trials onto the frozen grass field.
Sliding some distance down the grass field, the monster gradually came to a halt.
Three rays shot down from the sky. But this monster didn’t bother with it. The rays smashed into its chest and exploded.
Whoosh!
The minotaur held his warhammer horizontally above its head.
Clunk!
A staff slammed down. The minotaur successfully blocked the attack, but it also fell onto the snowy ground on one knee.
The monster gritted its teeth and looked down at Jeff. “That’s all you’ve got?”
Yep. Even though the minotaur kneeled on one knee, Jeff’s height was still lower than the minotaur’s chest.
Jeff jumped back. Based on Liam’s information, and his confirmation, most of his abilities were useless in this battle.
Low mana cost abilities won’t leave a scratch on this thing.
Mana projectiles were basically useless. Couldn’t even be used to knock this thing off balance.
Also, at his level, potions were practically useless now. The potion effects were too mild to do anything.
Most equipments were useless to Jeff as well. This was why Jeff didn’t wear armor. Why would he wear something that’s more fragile and softer than his body?
Jeff quickly observed this monster’s status.
The energy in the fog was still pouring into this monster’s body. No end in sight.
Having supernatural-peaked psychic level, Jeff processed these information in an instance.
He had to go all out. He was the one under time pressure.
This monster would only grow stronger over time.
Jeff poured his mana into his staff. The tip of his staff started to glow with a green light. Like popping out a spring knife, a scythe blade popped into existence.
Yep. It’s a blade entirely made of green mana energy.
In this foggy park at night, this blade was the only light source here. Under its glow, everything in this area became covered in a coat of green radiance.
Sure. This blade could melt through metal like a laser cutter.
But who the heck, in modern day society, knows how to properly use a freaken scythe? As a weapon!
Yeah… This was the glint-tier scythe Jeff submitted to the sanctuary for credit. Then Liam returned this thing to Jeff. It’s the payment Jeff had asked for: a two-handed glow-tier weapon.
How did Jeff know it’s the same scythe? The snath was literally the same!
(Snath: the handle of a scythe)
Nevertheless, Jeff still accepted this payment in the end though.
Jeff shook the scythe.
The energy blade exploded into glowing pixels. The cluster of pixels converged to the tip of the staff.
Nobody knew how to use a scythe.
But plenty of people knew how to use a spear!
Leaving a boom sound, Jeff dashed towards that monster.
‘With stacked abilities, I am much stronger, and much faster.’
‘Unlike its armored upper body, its lower body doesn’t have much defenses.’
Jeff leaned forward in his dash. Lord Trample’s warhammer whistled by above his head. ‘I can go for its legs! And kill its mobility!’
‘After it’s fallen to the ground, unable to turn around, the game would be over!’ Jeff swept his spear at the Lord Trample’s hooves.
DOOoommmm…
Lord Trample stomped the ground.
The ground violently shook upon impact. A blast wave of mana originated from its hooves, exploding into a shockwave.
Jeff pierced right through that wall of expanding air. However, his speed dropped in that collision.
The blast wave continued to brush through the grass field. It shook the trees down the park.
A pair of hooves entered Jeff’s view.
Bam!
Jeff blocked that front kick with his spear.
Even though he looked like a child to that towering monster, Jeff was only knocked three steps back.
With [Living Fortress] toggled on, Jeff was not going anywhere. (Unless he wanted to.)
‘Well. There’s a reason why he’s called Lord Trample.’
Without hesitation, catching this minotaur’s opening, Jeff shot towards this monster.
