Stacking My Abilities - Chapter 62: All In (2)
“Jeff Norman. The strongest man in Berrystone. At least, that’s what most people believe.” This mid-aged dude walked up to Jeff.
Shooting an expressionless glance at Daylor, this dude continued to walk forward. Understanding something, Daylor left this dome.
“At the moment, I must admit, I agree to this claim as well.”
Jeff took a better look at the mid-aged dude.
This guy was an older version of Daylor Anas. Just as classy. Just as proud. Wearing a crisp formal suit. Having a thin sword tied to his waist.
But unlike Daylor’s frivolous behaviour, this guy looked calm and steady.
(Frivolous (of a person): carefree, not serious, lighthearted)
Standing tall and strong, this guy emitted a strong aura of confidence. It’s as if he’s been in high stature for a number of years.
This guy was only an S-rank. Yet, facing Jeff, a sage-tier, this guy still looked relaxed.
Jeff liked this guy as much as he liked Daylor Anas. (Not at all)
Especially this dude’s gaze.
It’s like Jeff was his subordinate, or his child, or something.
Nevertheless, Jeff had to admit, in terms of looks and presentation, this guy looked more like a leader. Reliable. Trustworthy. Strong.
Subconsciously, Jeff stood a little taller. ‘I’m getting a better suit after this…’
“I am Tyler Finn Anas. The current head of the North American branch of the Anas family.”
“You have defeated Daylor in a fair battle. It is your right to take a spoil of battle from him. This is no big matter.”
“I do not sense any void energy on you, child. That’s why we are willing to talk to you.”
“We have to admit, considering that you are a wild mage, reaching SSS-rank without our aid is rather impressive.”
“But to the Anas family, this talent can only be considered, good.”
“In the past, many of our ancestors have demonstrated far greater talent than you.” Taylor Anas stated this like a matter of fact. Standing a little taller, Taylor looked like he was proud of his heritage.
“Your additional to our bloodline is preferred, but not necessary.”
“Since you have turned down our offer, we will not offer this invite to you again.” Taylor squinted and humphed.
“Good.” Jeff nodded.
Tyler Anas’ gaze turned colder. “Now that we have came to a conclusion in this matter, let’s move onto the next topic.”
“Even though you are not currently corrupted by the void, we cannot take any risks.”
“Hand over the Void Key child. This is not something you can handle.”
“Void key?”
“That black sword you took.”
“Uh huh…” Jeff slowly nodded.
“I killed a den of void people.” Jeff raised a brow at the mid-aged fella.
“Servants of the void.” Taylor Anas corrected.
“Right. And what did you guys do? Just because you say some words, I’m supposed to fully believe you? How do I know you are not on the void’s side?”
“You…” Taylor Anas took in a deep breath and grumbled.
“Boy. Listen. If our ancestors sided with the void, you would not exist now. Do you understand?”
“Our family has been protecting this planet against the mythical forces, for 12,500 years. And you are doubting us?!”
“If you’d like, you can come pay us a visit, and see for yourself, our trophies, our glory, and our sacrifices!” Taylor Anas snapped at Jeff.
“Alright… Sure.” Jeff raised his brows. “And I am a 1,000 years old high elf.”
PAUSE: True. Jeff was mocking this guy. But in reality, Jeff was 90% certain that this guy was telling the truth. The staff from Daylor Anas was the best proof. That artifact heavily targeted against the void.
But still, Jeff refused to give away his loot for free.
… Ok. Fine. In reality, Jeff just didn’t like these guys’ attitude.
They were treating him like an inferior being. And that ticked Jeff off.
“I’m a superior guardian. Therefore, the void key is safe and secure in my hands.” Jeff looked down at Tyler Anas.
Two can play this game.
Tyler Anas closed his eyes and sighed. “Your greed will cause your down fall. You may be the strongest being in this city, but in the face of the Anas family, you are nothing.”
“Child. Let today be a lesson to you.”
“The glory of the protector families shall not be stained!” Tyler Anas withdrew his thin sword.
The body of that sword emitted a crimson color. Regarding what that sword was made of… Jeff couldn’t tell. Wood? Metal? Rock?
It could be any of them. At the same time, it didn’t look like any of them. Jeff had never seen anything alike before.
Without further hesitation, Taylor Anas jumped back, making some distance from Jeff.
Jeff took a look around him. Three A-ranks jumped into this dome. They grabbed a sword in one hand, and a white-jade block in the other.
These guys got into the dome without any resistance.
People just watched this upcoming battle with anticipation. Entertained looks. Casual chatting. Some even started to take bets!
And this included Jeff’s buddies!
Most people were curious of the Anas’ capabilities. After all, these guys did spew out some big words.
Some SS-ranks looked at Jeff though. Before, they had only seen Jeff throw out his glow-tier dagger. And that was it. They were curious of what SSS-rank power looked like.
Sure. It’s a 4 vs. 1. But nobody expected Jeff to lose.
Waiting for these guys to get into position, Jeff looked up. One radiant-tier artifact up there. Four radiant-tier swords. Jeff took a look at his radiant-tier staff.
These guys were filthy rich…
One after another, the jade blocks in these guys’ hands bursted with light. One after another, these guys’ mana levels elevated to S-ranks.
Those jade blocks quickly disintegrated into a handful of dust.
The next moment, those four swords started glowing.
In front of Jeff, Tyler Anas held a crimson thin sword.
Based on instincts, Jeff felt that this thing was dangerous. Even in the hands of an S-rank, it’s still enough to injure him.
By his left, it’s a cyan broad sword.
Behind him, it’s a magenta thorn sword.
By his right, it’s a purple curved sword.
These swordsmen smiled in excitement. They were eager to defend their family’s honor!
