Stalker Husband - Chapter 20:GRAYSEN
I roll the car’s window open and look at the bright, sunny skies. I remember the song about how unfair for the sun to be looking so bright and cheerful while my heart feels like the world’s ending. Even though I told Albert to lay low from following Diana, I can’t stop myself from driving to her place from time to time just to check on her.
Not hearing anything about Diana even a single day hurts my work. I can’t seem to function better. I’m missing her terribly. It’s been five months since my princess has been dating Vince and so far, according to Albert, nothing much happened to the couple. They go out on a date regularly, mostly to movies.
I’m sure by now, my sweetheart’s lips have been kissed. I smile bitterly because I was wishing to be her first to everything. Her first and only. I don’t even know I’m a jealous type of guy. Only after knowing my princess did I discover that I actually have a little greedy side of me. It’s because I don’t want to share her.
Right now, I’m watching Diana as she sits on one of the benches in the public park. She seems to be waiting for her boyfriend, Vince. I frown in displeasure because if it’s me, I won’t let my princess to ever wait for me even for a second.
She’s been sitting there for about ten minutes now but instead of getting annoyed, I’m mesmerized at her frequent smiles and giggles as she stares at her phone. I wonder if Vince is good with words. Diana seems to be really enjoying the messages she reads from the device.
I squint my eyes when Albert suddenly comes into view. He first walks around the park before he finally sits beside the bench where Diana is sitting. I chuckle at the man’s loyalty to me. I know what he’s planning. He knows I’ll be wondering what Diana’s reason of laughter that’s why he’s investigating closely.
However, Albert only manages to sit about a couple of minutes before Vince finally arrives. Albert pulls his phone as if someone is calling him and subtly stands to leave the scene. Vince replaces Albert’s vacated seat and greets Diana on the bench.
Diana puts her phone away just as her smile slowly vanishes from her face. I frown in confusion. Isn’t Vince the reason of her laughter? Why does my princess looks suddenly troubled now? My phone vibrates in my pocket and see it’s Albert. I answer the call without taking my eyes away from the couple.
“Hello Al.”
“Mr. Damari, Miss Diana was only reading an electronic novel on her phone. She’s switching screens from time to time though. The other one I saw was a manga. That cartoon comics she’s reading must be really funny because she can’t stop laughing over it.”
“Really?” My heart blossoms in happiness. “Did you happen to get the title of the story?”
‘I’m sorry, Mr. Damari, I didn’t.”
“It’s alright and thanks.” I end the call and put my phone away.
So Vince wasn’t texting her messages at all. She’s merely reading funny stories. I smile as I continue watching the couple interact at the park. They really look so serious as they sit stiffly on the bench. What could’ve been their conversation be?
My curiosity intensifies when I watch as Vince suddenly stands to his feet and leaves hastily. He accidentally bumps into Albert before he staggers away with his head down. My eyes quickly return to Diana. Did they have a fight?
The longer our eyes are fuse together, the harder my heart beats wildly in my chest. Diana blinks but she’s still staring at me. Her frown slowly shows before she stands to her feet and approaches my car. Jesus! She’s not daydreaming. She’s actually staring at me!
“Excuse me…”
I slam my fist on the button to quickly raise the window up and floor the gas. Hah! What am I doing? Why am I reacting like a scared cat? I glance at my side mirror and see Diana watches my departing car.
