Stalker Husband - Chapter 21:GRAYSEN
Right. I’m not supposed to meet her this early. I can’t be with her while she’s too young and vulnerable to take up anything serious. She needs to be a whole person first before I can share my life with her. She needs to experience life.
My presence will only hinder her growth because I know with my domineering personality, I’ll only be suppressing her for the sake of protecting her. And that’s not growing up. Growing up is to endure the pain and experience both the good side and the bad side.
I wonder what her reason for breaking up with him. She might look sad but she doesn’t look remorseful at all. Didn’t she love Vince? They’ve been dating for five months, what have they been doing for their attraction not to develop into love within that span of time? If it were me, I would’ve gotten Diana to elope with me already.
A sinister smile suddenly spreads across my lips. Just a little bit more and Diana will be turning eighteen. By then, she’ll be legal enough. She won’t be a forbidden fruit I keep longing to taste anymore. By then, I can have her for myself.
My phone suddenly buzzes and I click the Bluetooth to receive the call. “Hello?”
“Graysen, it’s Amy. Can you come by the villa?”
Amy’s serious voice makes my heart pound. I quickly disconnect the call and drive faster into the superhighway going straight to our villa. It’s a damn five-hour long drive but I manage to arrive within three. I quickly knock at my father’s designated bedroom behind the staircase which was previously our library.
“What happened?”
“It’s just a minor relapse.” Amy’s exhausted face registers relief at my presence before she stands and suddenly hugs me around my torso. “I was really worried, Graysen. I don’t know what I’ll do if Mr. Damari will…” She sobs, unable to continue her words.
I dont know what words to say to reassure her. After all, she’s my father’s personal nurse and knows his condition better. Isn’t she supposed to be the one consoling me that everything will be ok? Even with a frown, I pat her back before gently pushing her away so I can see my father closely.
He’s asleep. So I carefully place a kiss on his forehead so as not to wake him up. I just sit there and stare at my father, feeling numb. I also don’t know how I’d feel if dad leaves me all alone. I don’t even want to acknowledge the horrible thought.
“Mr. Damari has been feeling lonely recently, Graysen. He’s even hinted for grandchildren.” Amy starts and sits at the edge of my father’s bed. “Dont you think you should start considering about giving your father his wishes before he… you know… Perhaps it’ll improve his health if he can see and play with his grandchild.”
“I’m working on it. But its not yet time.” I answer absent mindedly.
Diana is too young to be a mother yet. Besides, father already knows about my plans for Diana so I don’t get his point now getting suddenly anxious having grandchildren. I’m abruptly pulled from my thoughts when Amy picks up my hand and clasps it inside her hold.
“I’ve been Mr. Damari’s nurse for three years now and he’s been so nice to me. He’s almost like a father to me, Graysen. So… I…” Amy hesitates and licks her lips. “I was thinking that maybe it’s not so selfish to give back to him for what he’s done to me. I want…” She looks away as if embarrassed. “I’m willing to have your children, Graysen, if it makes your father happy.”
“What?” I’m astounded at her audacity that I swiftly slap her hands away from my touch, feeling disgusted at her suspicious offer. “Dont start making ideas in your head, Amy. You’re my father’s nurse and that’s all you’ll ever be.” I stand to my feet and straighten my coat. “The woman I’m going to marry, her name’s Diana. She’ll be the only woman to mother my children.”
I instantly leave the villa with a deep unpleasant frown on my face. What the hell. Amy?
