Stalker Husband - Chapter 26:DIANA
I return inside the house after spending the morning touring around the villa. Come to think of it, it’s my first time knowing there’s actually a stable at the back of the huge house. I also found out that the personnel in the villa have separate bungalows for women and gentlemen.
Damari household is indeed so generous towards their people. Only Amy stays in the villa since it’s practical for her to easily attend to Lucio. Speaking of that woman, I found her sitting in the living room, thumbing through her phone but something tells me she’s actually sitting there to wait for me.
She quickly puts her phone down when I close the door. “About what Mr. Damari said of your meeting with the couturier next week. He’s told me that I’ll be your maid of honor since you have no close relative to pose for it. Inform me with the schedule once youve finalized it so I can also have my measurements taken for my gown.”
The way she says it, it’s like an order to someone below her. Plus, she makes it sound as if she’s forced and doesn’t really want to stand as my maid of honor. I frown a little at her cold attitude. I don’t know what her problem in the world is but I sure as hell won’t allow her to vent it on me.
I don’t give her an answer but just walk across the living room and climb the stairs. I can practically feel my back freezing at the cold gaze she’s throwing at me.
“Excuse me, Miss Coleman! I was talking to you, didn’t you hear me?”
“I heard you perfectly.” I look over my shoulder and regard her with my piercing glare. “Since I’m the bride, I have the right to select who I want to be in my wedding entourage and you aren’t one of them.”
Amy’s eyes widen in surprise and anger as she clenches her hands as if controlling her temper. If I were her, I won’t hold back. If she really hates me, why not make a move for it? I don’t know why she hates me so much. Does my being a nurse poses a threat to her long-guarded career as the Damaris healthcare assistant? Pfft!
I haven’t even practiced my license yet, why would she feel threatened by me? Besides, I don’t wish to take care of Lucio. It’s not being selfish. In fact, its the opposite. I want to work in a hospital where my knowledge will develop and the scope of help I can extend is broad.
I continue climbing up the stairs and enter my room, locking it up before diving into the bed. God! When I was at the back of the villa earlier, I was so relaxed and happy spending the time with Julius, Desmond and some of the housemaids. Yet, just a second being exposed to Amy drains all of that happy vibe away.
I grab my phone and open my social media account, scrolling through them without thinking. Ah! Screw her! My mood is really destroyed. That poisonous bitch! What is wrong with her? Still frowning, I click onto my phonebook and search for an ambiguous name I just recently saved and typed in a message.
Diana: “Hi, handsome. Are you busy?”
Not even a minute later, my phone chimes for a reply which brings a sudden smile on my face.
Graysen: “No. But even if I were, I’ll drop everything to give my time to you.”
Diana: “Stop it or I’ll have tooth ache or diabetes.”
Graysen: “Too sweet? Perhaps you want a taste of me?”
Diana: “Don’t tempt me.”
The double check marks say he’s read it but the triple dots that indicate he’s typing a reply doesn’t appear. I’m being antsy. It’s not even ten seconds yet I’m already feeling neglected. The feeling this man inspires in me is really getting ridiculous! Just as my heart grows weary, my phone buzzes for a video call.
My hands practically shake as I fumble with the button. Jesus! It’s just a call, why am I being flustered? After blowing a deep calming breath, I finally swipe my thumb over the screen to accept the call.
