Stalker Husband - Chapter 34:DIANA
“Hello, Miss Diana? I’m really wondering how you keep disappearing from my sight. It’s alright if you want to go somewhere but please understand that you’re under my care. You have to at least inform me where you’re going.” Desmond’s pained voice rings at the other side.
“I’m sorry, Desmond.” I wince at the insincerity of my voice. “I saw an old friend earlier and decided to go grab some coffee together. I didn’t notice the time and just remembered informing you now.”
“Alright then, just call me when and where I’ll be picking you up.”
“Thank you, Desmond.” I breathe out a relieved sigh after ending the call.
“Your driver?” Graysen arches a brow while setting up a tent near the fire pit.
“Hmm.” I nod my answer and put the phone away.
I scratch my head, suddenly troubled. Will Desmond be like Amy who’ll rat me to Lucio if I’m found out having an affair with Graysen? Great! All because of a short-lived passion with Graysen. I look up at my lover and quickly change my mind. Even how short the time is, it’s all worth being with him.
“What’s the matter?”
“Who told you to be so handsome?” I point an accusing finger at him. “Look at me lying to people just so I could sneak out and meet with you.”
“Why do you sneak out anyway? Is there something wrong with our relationship?”
“What relationship?” I glare up at him.
Graysen suddenly grins evilly at me. “What do you mean? So we’re just like, what, fuck buddies? And here I thought I’m your boyfriend.”
“Quit joking around.” I turn and sit on the sand, poking the fire to hide my expression.
Are we already in that level to Graysen’s perspective? Boyfriend and girlfriend? But we never discuss anything. ‘Dummy, how can you discuss anything when all you do is get naked together and burn the sheets.’ I bite my lip to suppress a helpless groan.
Graysen comes and sits behind me, draping a blanket over my shoulders before pulling me into his arms. This… This familiar gesture. I close my eyes as a memory flashes in my head. The man at the cemetery. My heart skips a beat that I instantly open my eyes in bewilderment. What the…
“Are you ok?” Graysen asks worriedly while leaning his chin over my shoulder. “Are you tired already?”
“No.” I smile to hide my real feelings as I continue poking the fire, making it ablaze higher up the skies.
“Quit playing with it or someone might think we’re calling for an SOS.” Graysen takes the poke from my hand and pulls me tighter into his arms.
I lean back and take in a deep breath as I watch the rippling sea water shining at the distance by the moon’s reflection. Graysen brought me in a private beach for a picnic this afternoon and watched the sunset together. As darkness sets in, we skinny dipped into the water and made love on the sand.
