Stalker Husband - Chapter 40:GRAYSEN
I put my phone back inside my jacket pocket before rubbing my throbbing temple. She’s not picking up. It’s been two days since my wife has ignored my calls and texts. Just what the hell went wrong all of a sudden? As far as I know, we’re perfectly alright.
My seduction methods haven’t totally rusted out. What else? I’ve also finally claimed her body after waiting for damn long years. I honestly wanted to wait until our wedding night but the night at the cruise ship was just too damn perfect for loving. Besides, she’s the one who seduced me first, and I can no longer hold on from responding to my urges.
However, after our night together at the beach, Diana hasn’t contacted me nor returned any of my messages and calls. What’s going on? Did I miss something? The last expression I saw from her was that of longing. The very same feeling I felt those years when I’m only contented to watching her from afar. So how did things end up suddenly cold?
I’ve also called my father but he said that Diana is busy. She frequently goes out of the villa to arrange the upcoming wedding. I’ve also told my father to not involve Amy at the wedding anymore. After receiving my wife’s complaint about her, I can’t help but want to replace her as my father’s nurse right away. Dad only stopped me because he’s been ok with Amy’s performance.
I look out of the glass wall and frown towards the street across from where I sit. It’s not paranoia but I’m certain someone is watching me from afar. I can practically feel the hairs on my nape standing on end. My attention drifts to the approaching person at the restaurant. I quickly stand to greet the guests.
“Mr. Damari. I’m very sorry to have you waiting.” Marvin Queen extends his arm for a handshake before gesturing to his side. “This is my secretary by the way. Althea Martin.”
“Hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Damari.” The blushing young woman shakes my hand and I nod in return, ignoring her odd expression.
“Please, both of you, take a seat.” I tell them before sliding back to my own chair. “I didn’t wait that long. Let’s make our orders first?”
“Alright, Mr. Damari.”
I signal for the waiter and give her my order before the other two also order the same dish together. I take a sip from my coffee and place a folder on the table.
“I’ve read through the Portello proposal and I have to be blatantly honest about it. The project isn’t feasible.” I raise my hand to stop the man from interrupting before I continue my speech. “However, I have a few suggestions to better create a win-win agreement to both of us. Here is the revised proposal. If you see that you can meet my requirements, then we can happily sign the contract and safely jump start the project right away.”
Marvin Queen quickly grabs the folder from the table and smiles happily at me before giving the document to his assistant. “We’ll make sure to review the revision right away, Mr. Damari. I’m sure we will reach an agreement for a good collaboration.”
“That’s good.” I nod and thank the waiter that places my order down in front of me. “Then let’s eat and toast for that. Shall we?”
The meeting quickly ends and I’m now going down the path towards the darkened parking lot. I stop my walk and turn around. There’s no one else around but I’m sure I’m being followed. I pull my phone out and dial Albert. It’s best to be safe.
“Mr. Damari?”
“I’ll wait for you at the entrance, come pick me up from there.” I end the call and return to the restaurants entrance.
“Mr. Damari! Mr. Damari, please wait!”
