Stalker Husband - Chapter 47:DIANA
‘Beep! Beep! Beep!’
That sickening sound irritates me so much which causes me to wake up in a bad mood. I slowly open my eyes while frowning. I hear a sharp gasp before a metal sound violently smacks against the floor. A ringing sound echoes in my ears, making me moan in displeasure. What the hell is that sound! My ears are really so sensitive.
“Sweetheart! Princess!”
“Graysen?” I gasp in surprise as the man grasps my hand and sobs like a baby. “What happened? Why are you crying?”
“Oh, princess. Don’t you remember anything? I’m so afraid you’d leave me. Oh, no! Don’t get up. You’re still weak and you might hurt yourself.”
“I want…” I stop talking when I feel a sharp pain in my stomach when I force myself from getting up the bed. “What the hell is this?”
I push the blanket off of my body to inspect what’s this heavy thing that’s pressing against my stomach, making it impossible for me to get up immediately. I freeze when I see a bump underneath the hospital gown.
Although my mind already has a clue of what it must be, I gingerly touch it, gasping in shock that it’s my own flesh that’s protruding like a balloon. I glance up at Graysen who’s watching worriedly at me, suspense and anxiety can’t be hidden from his expressive eyes.
Grabbing the loose collar of the hospital gown, I peer underneath my thin clothing and stare at my own bulging stomach. Oh, my God! It’s already so big! With my shock, I stare at it longer, unable to take my eyes away from the impressive baby bump. My heart begins to race, the heart monitor beeps louder and louder.
“Princess… Will you calm down? Your heart…” Graysen’s voice, which is filled with uncertainty, wakes me up from my dazed state. “I… Just let me explain…”
“How long have I been sleeping?” I finally tear my eyes away from my belly and look up at the man that has been filling my mind and heart these past days.
“Six months.”
“Six months?” I gape at him in disbelief. “Is the baby alright? Is he healthy? How could I sleep this long with a baby in my stomach? He should be malnourished! Oh, my God! I’m a terrible, terrible mother!”
“Sweetheart, wait. Hey, no! You’re not terrible.” To stop me from raining Graysen more panicking questions, he starts kissing me repeatedly on my lips, silencing me in his own special and loving way. “You’re not a terrible mother. In fact, you’re the best. Look, even if you’re unconscious within those months, you managed to grow our baby in a perfect health.”
“Hmm, really?” I ask while receiving Graysen’s little kisses. “Graysen, when can I get out of this hospital? I want to marry you already.”
“I…” Graysen stares at me in shock. “In order for us to get married, you should wait for me to propose.”
“Shut up!” I try sitting up but my big baby is on my way and moving is really troublesome. “Six years of stalking and sacrificial love is enough proposal for us to be engaged. Plus, not to mention, you’ve also waited for six months while I’m in coma. I can’t bear to make you wait any longer. Let’s get married already. Oh, wait. How’s Desmond by the way?”
“Desmond has already recovered and is back to work.”
“How… How about her?” I ask with trembling voice, unable to utter my kidnappers name.
“She’s gone including the people that helped her take you.”
I look at my hands and smile bitterly. “The first thing I did after becoming a nurse is to take a life. So ironic.”
Graysen cups my cheeks and stares at me with concern. “Princess, it’s not your fault, ok? None of what happened is your fault.”
“I know.” I breathe out a heavy sigh before smiling at my husband. “So, the coast is clear. We can finally get married!”
Graysen frowns while staring at me intently before he clutches both my hands. “Wait, sweetheart. You mean, you knew me all along? My real identity?”
“Not all along. I found out the day after we spent a night in the beach.” I pause and look at Graysen in amusement. “Jesus! Those people, really? They didn’t bother telling you the truth even if I’m already in a coma?”
“What truth? What people?”
“Everybody! They confessed to me who you are. Your father included. Desmond is now my right hand man and has already betrayed you long ago.”
“They have…” Graysen looks at the space as if he can’t believe his own people have turned their backs on him. “So you’re not angry? I… I lied to you after all.” He looks at me sharply, as if readying himself for a terrible rejection.
“My love, I’ve tasted what death feels like. I don’t want to waste any more time dillydallying our love story. I want to be with you. Whatever you did back then, whatever your reasons are, it all boils down to the fact that you love me. What is there to be mad about?”
“Oh, princess. I love you!” Graysen showers me with more kisses on the lips. “Let’s get married. Let’s get married!”
“Hmm!” I moan into his mouth before pushing him away. “Let me say this to you once and for all.” I cup Graysens cheeks and stare at his teary eyes. “I love you and I will cherish you forever.”
