Standing Right Next To You - Chapter 351

“What’s on your mind?” Reuben questioned as they walked away from the place where they had been standing all along.

Lina did not answer him for a few seconds after which she looked up at him and gave him a serious reply.

“She is different.” She muttered and went back to her thoughts.

Though he was confused, he let her be and led her towards their private room.

‘She did not openly show her animosity like Talia does and neither did she act like a white lotus like the Rong ladies and Jeanette…’ She compared the women she had encountered to date.

While she knew that Talia had feelings for Reuben and was adamant about getting closer to him, she was still confused about this Helen she had just met.

Lina was still under the impression that Helen was Reuben’s first kiss which was bringing many thoughts in her head.

‘Does she still like Ruby?’ She wondered while continuing to walk with him.

A couple of turns later, Reuben and Lina reached the private room that he had booked for them.

He held the door open for his lady and escorted her inside.

Lina’s eyes scanned the room and they sparkled in awe of the beautiful scenic view she found outside the floor to ceiling window on the other side of the room.

There was a luxurious couch on one end, a dining table at the center, and a drinks bar at the other end of the room.

The place was warm and cozy, not suffocating and constricted like most private rooms would be.

Noticing her impressed face, Reuben smiled as he led her to the table.

They had wasted enough time with the unimportant person who had appeared out of nowhere.

This made him call for the waiters to get their food immediately, worried that his Kitten would be hungry.

Lina watched the waiters entering one after the other as they brought dishes of a large variety and placed them on the table.

‘And I thought that I ordered too much.’ She shook her head as she watched the table that was filled with bowls and plates.

“Eat up, Kitten. We did not have a proper breakfast today.” He reminded her of the simple coffee and cookies she had with him in the morning.

The prompt growl of her stomach that was heard in the silent room was as though her body had given its approval.

Lina lowered her head in shame as she cursed her body for misbehaving today.

Reuben’s hearty chuckle brought her back to her senses as she glared at him for laughing at her.

“Tit for tat, Baby~” He smirked at her.

She had laughed at him when Benji had reminded them of the punch he had received and now, he laughed at her noisy stomach.

Lina pouted her lips but did not argue further as she was glad he did not remain mad at her previous actions.

He also did not mention it any longer and began serving the food that he had ordered for her.

The atmosphere was pleasant as they served each other, speaking and learning their likes and dislikes as the meal progressed.

“I’m full!” Lina declared and rubbed her slightly protruding belly after she had eaten her fill.

Reuben shook his head and chuckled as he observed her actions.

No one would believe that this was the lady from a wealthy noble family, not with the strange behavior and the casual attitude she had at this moment.

However, this attitude of hers was what drew Reuben nearer to her.

Among the women who were prim and proper to the point where they would starve even on a date to appear elegant, there was this woman who ate to her heart’s content.

Neither was she shy nor was she worried about what her boyfriend would think of her.

‘She is becoming comfortable with me.’ He observed and was satisfied with the progress they were making in their relationship.

Even if they were taking baby steps closer to each other, he was happy that the distance between them was diminishing each day.

Their meal soon came to an end and the couple moved to the couch as the waiters brought in a tea set.

‘Such a virtuous wife!’ Lina giggled as she watched Reuben prepare tea for her which brought his attention to her.

However, her eyes were fixated on those long and lean fingers which held the teapot.

Noticing her line of sight, he turned in its direction and found her staring at his fingers.

‘She likes my fingers.’ He recalled their encounter in the plane where she had been staring at them dazedly.

Placing the teacups aside, he raised his hand and ran a finger over her jaw, from the edge to her chin.

Lina awoke from her daze after feeling his touch and looked into his eyes which held mischief in them.

Reuben held onto her chin and rubbed his thumb over her lips, pressing down right at the center.

His actions made her shut her eyes as she parted her lips awaiting his next move.

However, all she received was a chuckle which caused her to open her eyes once again.

This made her come in contact with the man who was now dangerously close to her face as he stared down at her.

“You, my dear, have a finger fetish!” He exclaimed, exposing her inner thoughts without thinking of her embarrassment.

Lina’s face turned bright red after hearing his confident words as she scrambled to find her voice to refute them.

“What!? No way! I… I…” She stuttered in her attempt to salvage her clean reputation he had wiped away with a single sentence.

Her panicking face gave him a sense of satisfaction which was bringing some weird thoughts up in his head.

‘Am I a sadist? Why do I like seeing her flustered face so much that I mess with her on purpose to catch a glimpse of it?’ He pondered about his mean actions but soon shrugged.

That was not what was important right now. The reddening Kitten was the star of today’s show.

“It’s alright, Kitten. I will sacrifice my fingers for your fetish’s sake. You can look at them all you want~” He continued to tease her while granting her this generous offer.

Lina was now red with anger and annoyance instead of earlier when she was red with embarrassment and shame.

“You! What nonsense are you spouting!?” She growled at him but sadly, he was not affected by it.

Instead of stopping, Reuben egged her on as he scooted closer to her.

“Want to touch them?” He inquired while displaying his hands before her, waving them right in front of her face.

Lina’s eyes moved along with the long bony fingers which were being flaunted for her to see.

As she continued to focus on the fingers, she caught a glimpse of their owner’s smirk.

‘He is playing me like a fool!’ She snarled in her head and smacked his hands away from her face.

Reuben did not mind her action as he smiled and winked at the woman who was seething in anger.

“Everyone has something they like more than the others! I am sure that even you have something like that!” She defended her fetishes and glowered at him for mocking her.

Surprisingly, he did not refuse her but nodded in admittance.

“I do have one thing…” He paused and looked into her eyes while his eyes darkened.
