Standing Right Next To You - Chapter 357
There was a time when he loved his elder brother and looked up to him as an idol but those days were a thing of the past.
Now, all he wanted was to make him feel the same pain he once felt and still experienced.
Mason’s menacing thoughts made the woman who was closest to him, stop as she looked up at him.
“Baby?” She called out to him when she noticed that he was lost in his thoughts.
‘Maybe we spoke too much about Reuben.’ She surmised and hugged him tighter.
Mason glanced down upon feeling her arm around his waist tighten which brought a smile over his face, dispersing the gloomy aura around him.
‘My love is the only one who truly cares for me.’ He leaned and kissed her forehead, pleasing the woman who gave him a coquettish giggle.
Priscilla was one of the few people who knew of the incidents of his past and the troubles he had to go through.
She was well aware of the reason for his deep-rooted hatred for his brother.
“Ah, look at the time! I must head back to work!” She clamored as she pointed at the watch.
Mason raised his brows as he knew that she was doing this for him and smiled at her with a nod.
“We shall meet again at my office, Miss Gu. Let us have a pleasant cooperation.” He greeted the other woman who nodded at him.
Helen then watched the couple leave right before her eyes as she stood in the same place.
‘Both the brothers have girls in their lives.’ She commented and felt distressed that Reuben was drifting further away from her.
Since she could not grab an opportunity to be close to Reuben, she had decided to use this business deal with Mason to inch closer to his cousin.
Sadly, she did not know that Mason would rather stay miles away from Reuben than trying to take a step closer to him.

Lina and Benji entered the hotel room that had been booked for her stay during the closed-door cultivation period.
“Hmm…” Lina nodded as she scanned the room after entering it.
A presidential suite on the topmost floor of a prestigious hotel in the city was where they were right at this instant.
The place was built to give the guests the experience and comfort of living in their own house while staying in this room.
A living room with a large flatscreen TV, a couch large enough to seat five grown men at once, and a drinks bar at the far end of the room was what met her eyes.
“This place looks great!” She exclaimed, satisfied with the first room she had seen.
Lina had the habit of taking up a suite that had two bedrooms.
The bigger room would be for her to sleep in while the second bedroom would be her workspace.
As she stepped further inside the suite, she saw two doors.
At the end of the room were two doors and Lina chose to take the one on the right.
The moment she opened it, she found a small corridor which had two doors inside.
‘Eh? Why two?’ She was confused as she pushed the first door open.
The first door on the right had a cozy and well-lit office spare prepared for her.
Lina’s stuff she used for her designing, her snack bag, and her Tablet was already placed inside this room.
Sheh gave Benji an appreciative nod and glanced at the office room before exiting it.
Now, she moved to the second room and found that this one was a large room that held a hot tub, a steam room, and a large TV to watch while relaxing in the tub.
Lina’s eyes widened in surprise when she noticed that this room had no walls to shield her from the outside world.
Instead, they only had floor to ceiling glass windows which gave her the perfect view of everything that was outside these windows.
“No one can see you from the outside.” Benji added to help ease her worried heart.
‘Thank God! I would never step in this room if it wasn’t a one-sided window!’ She sighed as well as scowled at the designer who had made the blueprint of this hotel.
Shy as she was, she left this room and exited the corridor to move to the other door which was on the left.
After pushing the door open, Lina fell in love with the sight that met her eyes.
A huge room held an equally huge bed at the center of the room.
There were wardrobes next to the door which most probably already had all of her clothes arranged in them.
Lina stepped inside and jumped onto the bed which bounced her body a couple of times before she laid flat on it.
‘Damn, this feels good!’ She let out a satisfied groan as she rolled on the bed.
Benji scoffed at her childish actions as he left her in the room to speak to the hotel staff.
For the next few days, Lina would not step outside this suite which meant that food needed to be sent over to her room.
‘If the menu was left in her hand then she will only order for junk food and fill her stomach with that nonsense.’ He scowled and had asked the manager to arrange proper and healthy meals for her.
Being a distinguished guest who had opted for the best room in their hotel, the manager did not have any issues with following the instructions that were given by the big man.
Inside the room, Lina stepped out to the balcony which was attached to her room and breathed in the clean and cold breeze that was coming her way.
“This place makes me feel like I am on a vacation!” She chuckled while stretching her arms out.
“But you are not on a vacation.” Benji’s deadpan voice startled her as she let out a loud yelp.
‘He’s like a big stupid ninja cat!’ She glared at her assistant who walked with padded feet, surprising her with his sudden presence.
The big assistant had finished reiterating his orders to the manager and had returned only to hear his boss spouting nonsense.
“You are here to work so make sure you work and not laze around all day!” He lectured her like a nagging mother which he believed that he was at times.
Lina groaned in annoyance at his repeated lectures of how she should work hard, not waste time, eat well and finally not spend all of her time reading the novels she loved.
‘I had forgotten about him until he reminded me.’ She snickered at the man who had helped her in this aspect.
Benji leered at her after noticing the mischievous look on her face.
‘I can only lure her with one method now…’ He rolled his eyes and felt annoyed that he had to use this foul play.
“If you waste too much time then you won’t be able to meet Reuben for a long time.” He baited her by using her boyfriend’s name.
Benji sneered when he noticed that his trick had worked like a charm as Lina’s eyes were wide open.
“I will be sure to work hard and finish my work ahead of schedule!” She promised him just as she had promised Ruby to be back soon.
Benji patted her head in approval and left the suite after making sure that she was settled in.
