Standing Right Next To You - Chapter 361
The Manager, though bewildered by her strange demand, got his men to place a bed in her study.
The overly spacious study room looked cramped now with the addition of the medium-sized bed in it.
The couch on one side, the desk was pushed further to the end of the room and the bed was placed right at the center.
Though the aesthetic of the room was now completely messed up, Lina did not mind it as all she needed was a comfortable space to finish her work in.
“Thank you!” Lina expressed her gratitude for making the arrangements on such short notice.
The Manager lamented the wrecked design of the room but could only smile as he and his workers left the room after arranging everything in an orderly fashion for their guest.
The men whispered among themselves as they left the suite and walked to the elevator to head downstairs.
“That Miss is so weird that she wants a bed while there is such a massive bed in the other room.” One of them snickered when they were far away from the suite.
The Manager who was following after them glared at the blabbermouths with a stern gaze.
‘She is someone you don’t want to mess with!’ He glowered at the employees who were talking too much.
The bank card that the assistant had used was an international one and the only people he had seen using the same cards to book a room in their hotel were the most established and wealthy men in the city.
This gave him the idea that the woman who stayed in that room was not someone that they could talk about recklessly.
“Do your work and remember to keep your mouth shut!” He reprimanded the men who were discussing the absurd requests of the guest.
The stern words from their Manager brought a halt to their meddlesome discussions as they hurried back to their posts while the Manager went back to his office.

Lina showered and changed into her baby blue pajamas after which she picked up her necessities needed for commencing her work and headed to the study.
‘Let’s begin with the couch.’ She decided and dropped the items she had carried over onto the couch.
Plopping down, she glanced at the Tablet which was ready to be used as it sat on the table and then at her side.
She smiled when she was the mountain load of snacks and candies that were now beside her as they were the necessities she had carried over to this room.
Her phone was in her pocket and the Tablet now on her lap.
‘Snacks, check!’ She nodded at the junk on the couch.
‘Water bottles, check! The water bottles on the table were sealed and ready to be consumed at any time.
‘Battery, check and check!’ She tapped the screen of her Tablet and phone and nodded when she saw that both of her gadgets were fully charged.
She had everything that she needed and then took a deep breath in as now she could begin her work.
Benji had already transferred the contents of the USB drive that Steph had handed over to them, onto her Tablet.
All she had to do was fire up the files that he had sent over and begin her creative process.
‘Let’s see how the first design is…’ Lina rubbed her chin as she began looking through Stephen’s designs one after the other.
As she gazed at them and analyzed the details of each design, her mind began conjuring the image of the type of jewelry that would accentuate its beauty.
Stephen Jin had created a total of eight beautiful gowns as a part of his Winter Collection for Obsidia Designs.
These eight gowns were the perfect blend of elegance and trend which captivated her eyes.
Lina had the entire suite to herself and did not have to worry about anyone taking a peek at her work.
Hence, she could draw the rough sketches on paper without any fear of them being seen by someone else.
She began taking notes on what she would want to create and scrutinized each design with a keen eye.
Each gown was the embodiment of a particular trait that a woman could possess.
The designs made her think of an adjective that matched each dress.
Fierce and alluring, red
Gentle and humble, white
Aloof and elegant, grey
Bubbly and mischievous, pink
Calm and captivating, blue
Soothing and level-headed, green
Luxurious and wise, violet
Intoxicating and glamorous, black
He had chosen to go with a monochrome theme this winter and Lina could understand why people called him a genius in the industry.
The designs he had created were bringing up the artistic drive in her which made her hands move faster than before.
The process was time-consuming as she needed to think of every tiny aspect before she could pen down her thoughts.
“Ahh!” She groaned when her hands began to cramp after writing for a long time.
The advent of keyboards had brought about the change in man’s habits and to write after such a long gap was making her fingers and wrists cramp up.
Lina took a short break before getting back to writing down all of the little notes she had in her mind.
Once she was done with making her notes on what each design brought to her mind, she began envisioning which type of jewelry would suit which one better.
With her eyes closed, she laid her head on the backrest of the couch and imagined how the dress and the jewelry would look when worn together.
Her mind began manifesting the images she needed to begin her drawing stage which was soon after this one.
Benji had dropped Lina at the hotel when the sun was right overhead and by now the sun was moving further away from that position.
After a long time, Lina’s eyes opened and the glint of enthusiasm and eagerness in her eyes proved that she had found what she had been looking for.
She did not waste much time as she hopped off the couch and carried her Tablet over to the bed at the center of the study.
Her butt rested on the soft mattress and she let out a loud moan when she felt the cushion sink due to her weight.
The experience of the mattress swallowing her body thanks to how soft it was, was making her feel like she was riding on a cloud.
‘Concentrate!’ She scowled at her wandering mind and tapped on the screen of her gadget.
Her fingers moved across the screen and the personal and customized designing software her big brother Wayne had created for her was launched.
He had worked hard to create this one of a kind software which only she had access to in this entire world.
Her designs would be saved and patented the moment she saved the final copy.
No one could ever steal her designs and call them their own thanks to this software that protected her creative and intellectual property.
However, this was a secret that no one other than the people close to Lina and Wayne knew about.
Even if this was not enough, she also had her personal LY watermark on each design, including the rough drafts which proved her ownership of them.
Thus, Lina began drawing the very first piece of jewelry on the secured software which ensured the safety of her designs until she fell asleep in the same place due to her exhaustion.
