Standing Right Next To You - Chapter 367
Lina had just stepped out of her bathroom when she heard the doorbell ringing once again.
Patting her face dry, she left the room and her eyes fell on Reuben who was staying by the door.
He had taken off his coat which she noticed was neatly folded and placed on the couch.
As she walked out of her room, the Manager and two of his staff members entered the suite.
While Manager Lang led the way, the two men pushed a trolley each filled with plates covered with cloches.
The Manager had been given strict instructions about maintaining the nutritional balance in the meal prepared for their guest.
Therefore, special meals were prepared for them and were already kept ready.
When he had received a call for the Presidential suite ordering for more food, he was worried that the meal prepared by the chef would not be sufficient to serve two.
Thankfully, the chef was able to whip up another batch as the ingredients used were already prepared and ready to be cooked.
Hence, it only took them a few extra minutes to bring the meal over to the suite.
He and his waiters then rushed to the suite to not let their guests wait for long.
He pressed the doorbell and waited on the other side of the door for it to be opened.
‘I will know who that man was whom I had spoken to.’ He moderated his curiosity as the identity would soon be exposed.
As the door was pulled open, Manager Lang’s eyes widened in surprise.
Curious and confused, he bowed and took a step back.
“I apologize, Mr. Ming! I have knocked on the wrong door!” He expressed his wrongdoing with a perfect bow.
Reuben blinked at the man whose back was perpendicular to him as he bowed to the Mighty Emperor to ask for forgiveness.
‘How could I knock on the wrong door!’ He cursed himself for this insolence and felt like hitting his face in repentance.
“You are in the right place.” The Emperor answered to clear the confusion in the manager’s head.
‘That can’t be right! Why would Mr. Ming be here?’ He doubted the words he heard and then glanced at the number on the door.
{802}
This was the correct suite so why was the person inside different from his expectations?
Reuben was feeling lazy to explain things to this man and he rubbed the bridge of his nose while stepping aside.
“Bring it in.” He commanded and shot a glance at the two men standing behind the manager.
As puzzled as he was, he did not dare to disobey the words from this man and signaled his employees to follow him.
Just as they had entered, they noticed the woman whom they had met before was slowly emerging from the bedroom.
‘So this was the correct room… What was the Emperor doing here?’ The Manager’s doubts only kept increasing.
“The food is here.” Reuben announced when he saw Lina stepping out of the room.
She was wearing the same blue pajamas as before but her hair and face were fresh and clean now.
Nodding at him, she smiled at the hotel staff that had entered the room.
Reuben did not act too comfortable with her but the gentle smile on his face when he saw her, gave his inner feelings away.
‘Emperor Ming and this guest….’ Manager Lang widened his eyes as he alternated his gaze.
He then realized that he was behaving in an unbecoming manner for a Manager and lowered his head to avoid looking at them.
He glanced at his staff members who also averted their eyes and placed the trolleys in the corner before stepping out of the room.
“Have a pleasant meal, Mister Ming and Madam.” He wished as he did not know who Lina was.
Lina smiled at the helpful man who had acquiesced to her odd requests earlier and watched as the three men left soon after.
Once Reuben had shut the door, the three men who were walking towards the elevator in silence were mulling over this grand discovery they had made.
‘The Ice Emperor was in that Miss’ room…’
‘Looks like they are familiar with each other.’
‘Emperor Ming had such a gentle smile on his face when he saw that Miss!’
Three men had different thoughts about the incident they had just witnessed.
However, they were professionals and knew that discussing this topic would be harmful to their future in this hotel and decided to keep their lips sealed.
Manager Lang was proud that he had done the right thing when he had suspected the Miss to be someone with a powerful background.
‘She had Reuben Ming open the door for her, just who is she!?’ He wondered and vowed to treat her to the best of his abilities.
A thought came to his mind which cleared this doubt in his mind and a light of understanding flashed through his eyes.
‘Is that why he…’ He nodded that he had figured everything out.
This was the juiciest gossip he had discovered but the sad part was that he could never let a second soul hear about this to ensure the security of his position as the Manager of this prestigious hotel.

Inside the suite, Lina sat on the couch as her boyfriend began serving her their meal.
There was a mini dining table at the end of the room but Lina refused to sit there as she wanted to watch TV and eat her dinner.
The indulgent boyfriend did not refuse her wishes and let her do as she pleased.
“How did you know everything that I like to eat?” Lina inquired when she saw the food on her plate.
From the starters to the side dishes, everything present on those trolleys to the food on her plate was filled with dishes she liked.
Reuben heard her question and took a quick scan of the food present before them.
‘I’ll keep them in mind.’ He made a mental note of the dishes she liked.
“Benji ordered for them.” He answered truthfully, not willing to take credit for something that he had not done.
Lina’s confused face made him explain what he had found out from the manager.
“Such a nagging mother he is!” She scoffed at her assistant which elicited a chuckle from her boyfriend.
‘That is why I do not mind that guy sticking close to you.’ He shook his head at her childish behavior and patted her head.
“Eat up.” He reminded her and pointed to the plate.
Lina did not object to his words and began gobbling up her food while watching TV.
The dinner was silent as they watched the news in the business industry followed by the current affairs of the city they stayed in.
Once dinner was completed, Reuben called the staff and got the plates cleared which took less than five minutes.
Lina was not bothered about the staff who entered and soon exited as her attention was on the international news that was being read at the moment.
‘I want days like this to last forever.’ Reuben wished as he wrapped his arms around the woman who was seated next to him.
With her head resting on his chest, his little Kitten snuggled up to him as her attention was on the TV.
Reuben kissed her head then he too turned his eyes to the TV.
