Standing Right Next To You - Chapter 383
CEO Ming had been expecting to hear her coquettish moans but in its place, he heard loud peals of laughter bursting out her mouth.
His lips which had been stuck to the woman’s neck after giving her a dark hickey paused, twitching when he noticed the odd reaction coming from her.
“What is it?” He let out a low grumble and moved to a different spot on her neck to leave his mark over her skin.
The man left a wet kiss over this new spot before he began sucking to create a second hickey on her neck.
He smiled against her skin when he heard her laughter morph into an abrupt moan which he had brought out of her.
Recalling something, his eyes brightened and he whispered while still remaining in the same position with his lips stuck to her neck.
“I hear no resistance… Looks like you were just playing hard to get, weren’t you?” His arrogant voice was heard amidst her moans.
“Time for you to be useful to your boss.” He announced while lifting his body off of hers.
His hand reached out to help her sit up which she accepted without any hesitation.
However, when she heard his choice of words, her laughter returned with a vengeance as she held her stomach and continued to laugh.
“Pfft…” She chortled without restraint or considering the feelings of the man sitting beside her.
“What’s so funny, Kitten!?” CEO Reuben Ming pouted as he investigated the cause of her uncontrollable laughter.
Lina Yang, the woman who had been pressed under him on the couch shook her head while waving away his apprehensions about what was causing her to laugh.
“You were the one who suggested it so you cannot laugh!” He scoffed at his mischievous Kitten who was laughing at his expense.
Lina covered her mouth with her palm and nodded in acceptance of his accusations as she was truly the one who had forced him to do what she had asked earlier.
___
About half an hour earlier,
Reuben returned to Lina’s hotel room after his day at work and found that she was laying on the couch with her feet waving in the air as she had her entire attention focused on her phone.
‘What has gotten her so engrossed that she did not notice my arrival?’ He wondered and tiptoed towards the couch on which she lied.
The key card of this room had been acquired from the Manager thanks to which Reuben would not have to knock on the door and disturb her every time he returned.
This gave him a sneaky advantage as he inched closer towards his girlfriend whose back was towards the door and thus had not caught sight of his arrival.
His intentions of surprising her came to a halt when he heard her voice.
“Welcome back, Ruby!” Lina’s sudden greeting startled him and he froze in the same spot.
He was about to scare her but it appears as though, the one to be surprised was none other than him.
“How did you…” He muttered after a brief pause and stared at her as though she had eyes at the back of her head as well.
‘I’m sure that she did not make any movements when I entered the room!’ He recalled and was also convinced that he had made any noise to alert her of his presence.
‘Men are so dumb sometimes.’ Lina rolled her eyes as she finally turned around.
She had heard the key entering the slot before he had even stepped into the room hence she had not bothered to turn around.
Now looking at her man dressed in the suit and tie, her eyes glittered in appreciation of his glorious physique.
Even after a tiresome day at work, it did not appear as though he was weary and exhausted, instead, he had the same vigor present on his face with which she had bid him goodbye in the morning.
‘I would look like some wretched hag with my hair scattered everywhere but look at him!’ She exclaimed, jealous of how flawless he looked even after a tough day at work.
‘Why is God so partial towards men!?’ She lamented her sad life when compared to his.
Reuben was amused with the plethora of expressions that were passing through her face.
One moment she was excited and pleased while in the next she had become gloomy and disheartened.
“You should become an actor, you know that right, Kitten?” He blurted out what was on his mind.
Realizing what he had just said out loud, he fixed his gaze on her face to deduce whether he had spoken something that might make her mad at him.
However, what he had said was a true compliment for Lina and she blushed before nodding at him.
“Compared to the white lotuses and green teas out there, I am not worthy of this praise, CEO Ming.” She uttered in a coquettish voice which elicited a loud round of laughter from him.
Taking off his coat and tie, he sat next to her and pulled her into his arms.
Lina took the lead and placed a chaste and heartwarming peck on his cheeks following which he turned his face, giving her another peck but this time on the lips.
‘He doesn’t play fair!’ She complained but the blush on her cheeks implied that she was happy with his actions.
Reuben was happy with the reaction he had received and leaned closer to continue to kiss that she had denied him earlier this morning.
Remembering something, Lina leaned away from him and stared at him with suspicion evident in her eyes.
“What is it? Something on my face?” He inquired while patting his cheek using his free hand.
Lina rolled her eyes at his actions and even snorted in anger at his unnecessary worries.
“No, your face is amazing as always.” She scoffed begrudgingly that he appeared flawless even without bothering to maintain himself and his appearance.
