Standing Right Next To You - Chapter 421
Benji had already called for the hotel staff to come to pick their luggage up and transfer it to the car which was waiting for them downstairs.
“I’m happy to see that you are alright, Manager Lang.” Lina chirped when she saw the familiar face walking through the door with the hotel staff.
Manager Lang bowed to her, grateful that she cared for his health and revealed that he had recovered which allowed him to resume his duties.
‘Now is the time!’ She decided when something came to her mind.
“Manager, I have a complaint.” Lina whispered, leaning close to his ear which made the poor manager shiver.
The cause of this was the two men who were glaring at him for he was too close to the woman right now.
‘Step away.’ Reuben’s eyes were boring holes into the manager while Benji too was leering at him with menacing eyes.
Pretending that he was pulling his phone out of his pocket, Manager Lang succeeded in creating distance between them without letting Lina discover his actions.
“Yes, Miss.” He nodded while tapping something on the screen.
Manager Lang sighed when he felt the deadly glares subsiding after he had stepped away from this Miss.
Lina had no clue about what he had just experienced so she took a deep breath in before revealing what had been on her mind.
“There was a maid who…” She paused and then glanced at Reuben who had a cocky smile on his face when he realized what she was about to say.
‘Stop that!’ She glared at him which managed to wipe that smug grin off his face.
Manager Lang looked up when he heard her words and noticed that her attention was elsewhere.
Lina turned back to the manager after sensing his gaze and smiled awkwardly that she had just ignored him.
However, he did not mind while putting his phone away which brought a frown on her face.
“Miss, Mr. Ming has already informed me about this incident and I will be taking strict action against the person who has ignored the rules and regulations of our establishment.” He declared while disclosing that he was already aware of what had happened.
Reuben had called the Manager the very same day and had given him an earful about how his staff behaved which further increased his fever after that phone call.
Thankfully, his anxiety for what might happen to his Hotel while he was away made the Manager’s body work in overdrive to recover which allowed him to be able to return today.
He had asked his men to find out what had happened and in the meantime, he had heard that the Miss and Mr. Ming were about to check out of their room.
Therefore, he set that matter aside to come to greet them before they left.
“Miss, rest assured that such an incident will not occur again.” He announced in a confident voice and was sure that he would stand firm by his words.
Lina was surprised to hear that it was Reuben who had made a move before her.
‘Not bad.’ She sent an appreciative nod his way which amused him once again.
Now that Manager Lang had assured that he would look into this matter, she had no more reason to stick around and poke her nose in their way of dealing with things.
So, she nodded her head and thanked him and his staff who had done a stellar job at catering to their needs during their stay here.
Manager Lang and the men who were assisting him were then given red pockets by the bulky assistant who they had seen on the first day and then again today.
“I hope that my Boss’s stay here remains confidential.” He glanced at the two staff and Manager Lang who nodded immediately in acceptance.
They would have done the same even if he had not asked them to but with the addition of the tip that they had just received, they were more motivated to keep things a secret.
Lina then glanced at the room one last time while the luggage was being taken away by the staff.
Right now, only Lina, Reuben, and Benji were in the room, waiting for her to finish so that they might make a move.
“Nana, we need to meet your Uncle before we head to Obsidia.” Benji reminded her which brought her out of her reminiscing thoughts.
Lina nodded and then turned to Reuben who had stretched his hand out towards her.
“Shall we?” He inquired and she smiled while placing her hand in his.
While the happy couple walked out hand-in-hand, Benji rolled his eyes while following them.
When the three exited the room, they met another man who had just exited the elevator.
Noticing these three, the man pressed the button to hold the elevator until they arrived.
“Good morning, Master, Madam.” Trigger greeted with a bow as the two nodded at him before entering the elevator.
His eyes then turned towards the other assistant who had been following them and sparks flew when they made eye contact.
“Conflict?” Lina whispered in Reuben’s ear after witnessing how the two had glared at each other before they entered the elevator.
Reuben shook his head, refusing the inference that she had made.
However, it seemed that the two assistants had now become rivals after they met at his office.
‘I miss that fool at times like this.’ He sighed while alternating his eyes between the two tall and muscular men who were shielding them inside the elevator.
Reuben then shuddered that he had just thought that he missed that fool, Assistant Mathew Kim who had taken a long leave.
Shaking such a scary thought out of his head, he decided to focus his attention on the beautiful lady standing next to him.
“I will come to meet you when you get back home.” He whispered while playing with her fingers.
‘He still remembers.’ Lina smiled and nodded as she had already given her consent for this.
As the elevator reached the ground floor, Reuben knew that they could not be seen leaving the hotel together as that might spark a lot of unrest in the media.
Lina too was aware of this fact so she looked at her boyfriend with sad eyes which made him lean in to steal a kiss just before the doors opened.
“You leave first.” He added while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
Nodding, Lina gave him one last look before walking out of the elevator with Benji following her.
Benji had already completed all the procedures of payments and checking-out so they could leave right away.
The guests in the hotel who were entering and exiting the hotel and some others who were in the lobby had their attention fixed on the woman who was walking in the front with a tall man who appeared to be a bodyguard followed after her.
If it wasn’t enough that they had seen such a tremendous beauty this early in the morning, their eyes widened in surprise when just after a few seconds, they saw another rare sight.
Emperor Reuben Ming was also seen walking out of the hotel with his new assistant which strengthened the rumors that he had come over to sign a new deal with one of the guests here.
None of them had associated that Lina and Reuben’s appearance in subsequent order were connected to each other.
However, they were curious to know who that businessman was who had the great fortune of having the Emperor come over to a hotel for them.
Reuben watched as Lina sat in her car with Benji riding shotgun with the driver.
His lips curved into a gentle smile when he saw how Lina blew him a kiss as the black tinted windows rolled up to block the interior of the car from everyone’s sight.
The car then moved out of the driveway at a slow speed and the next car that arrived was his.
Reuben boarded his car with Trigger riding shotgun after which they began their journey to Ming Enterprises to start their new business day.
{I’ll see you soon, Kitten.}
A text was sent to the woman who was always on his mind as he began reading through the files that needed to be reviewed before the meetings for the day.

Lina smiled and decided to send a reply to her boyfriend along with a selfie she clicked after entering her car.
{I miss you already, Ruby!}
Attached to the text was a selfie of Lina sporting a pout while looking straight into the camera.
‘Let’s see how he replies.’ She giggled as she checked out her adorable face shown on the screen before pressing the send button.

While the two lovebirds were exchanging texts while they traveled to their respective destinations, there was someone who was seething in anger.
Back at the hotel, Manager Lang was glaring at his deputy manager who had assigned that maid to serve the room where Master Ming had been staying.
‘It’s partially my fault for not informing him about who was staying in that room.’ He then sighed but still felt indignant that such a shameful incident had occurred in their hotel.
“Sir, I did not know that she would try such a stupid thing with someone residing on the top floor.” The Deputy Manager felt guilty that their hotel’s reputation had been tainted after this.
The people who could book a room on the top floor were not people to be trifled with.
He thought that the maid whom he had assigned to that room would have that small amount of rationality but now it appeared that he was wrong to assume so.
“Where is she right now?” Manager Lang interrogated as he needed to see her right now.
