Standing Right Next To You - Chapter 428
Soon it was time for Patrick Yang to also head to work which left the youngsters alone in the dining hall.
“I should leave too.” Aya announced that she would have to get changed and arrive at Obsidia’s headquarters with her Grandpa and the rest.
Stacy went out to bid her goodbye and when she returned, she found her cousins looking at something on the laptop placed on the table.
“What are you watching?” She whispered while leaning over their heads to peek at the screen.
Lina’s head on which Stacy had rested her chin felt heavy but she did not move and allowed her sister to take a look at the screen.
“That… Looks great!” She squealed after taking a look at the design on the screen.
The image on the screen was the first rough draft of the sketch that Lina had drawn during her cultivation period.
Since she never allowed anyone to view the final sketches before they could be sent to the Hitoshi family to be made into jewelry, she could only show them the initial drafts.
However, Wade just wanted to make sure that she had completed her work before the meeting could be held in a couple of hours and was satisfied with just the sneak peek she had shown just now.
Stacy’s eyes were glittering after glancing at the jewelry that Lina had designed.
“I want a seat for the fashion show as well!” She demanded while grinning at the thought of seeing the beautiful designs being displayed.
Wade rolled his eyes at her but before he could say a word, Lina nodded her head which resulted in Stacy’s head moving as well.
“Aya will be getting passes for the show so why don’t you join as her plus one?” She giggled which made Stacy blush as she moved her chin away from Lina’s head.
Stacy had never been a girl’s plus one before but the thought of attending the show with Aya made her cheeks burn with excitement.
‘Look at her blushing like a schoolgirl.’ Lina chuckled as the two men, Benji and Wade also smiled while looking at Stacy’s bashful appearance.
“Nana, go get changed.” Benji reminded her as they needed to head to Obsidia soon and her outfit was not appropriate for work.
When Lina heard this, she looked down and nodded as her black leggings were most certainly not fit for work.
Nodding her head, she shut the laptop and handed it to her assistant for safekeeping before she rose from her seat.
Wade and the rest watched as she dawdled her way up the stairs and in the direction of her room in the Luo Residence.
Once she was out of sight, Wade turned to Benji with stern eyes.
“Did she really behave or did as she pleased?” He interrogated him because, in Lina’s presence, Benji would only say what she wanted him to say.
Therefore, Wade decided to question the muscular assistant about this matter once she was out of hearing range.
‘Now she cannot threaten him to speak in her favor.’ He smirked as he knew his little sister all too well.
Hearing the inquiry that the VP of Obsidia had just made, Benji gulped in silence.
“Yes, she behaved.” He answered without breaking eye contact or acting shifty.
‘She behaved because that man was with her the entire time.’ He swallowed the rest of the explanation as he would be the first to get washed away in the tsunami that would follow once those words left his mouth.
Wade leered at him suspiciously but Benji did not flinch nor did he appear nervous.
This made Wade wonder whether Lina had spoken the truth earlier which came as a shock to him.
‘My baby sister is growing up…’ He sniffled as she was maturing so quickly and had understood that her closed-door period was not healthy.
‘Pretty sure you are misunderstanding something but that works in my favor.’ Benji smiled at this sight without trying to correct him.
Lina indeed was maturing but in her relationship with Reuben Ming with whom she had also cohabited for the last many days.
Stacy shook her head at these overprotective pair of brothers who would always watch their backs even when they were already old enough to handle things on their own.
Though she sighed at how Wayne and Wade treated her and Lina, she was still grateful that they had someone to watch over their safety.

In her room, Lina opened her wardrobe and picked out a new business suit which she had asked Mrs. Ping to send over to the Luo Residence the last time she had stayed here.
Half her clothes were in Yang Manor and the other half in Luo Residence so she did not have any issues with choosing an appropriate outfit for work.
Thinking of something else, Lina blushed while putting on her clothes for the day.
‘I have clothes in Ruby’s penthouse as well.’ She remembered the room that he had assigned for her where she had left a few pairs of clothes as well.
Shaking her head, she snapped out of her sweet thoughts and glanced at her reflection in the mirror.
A black side-split pencil skirt paired with a violet inverted-pleat top and a fitted jacket.
To round off her look, she opted for black stilettos which made her appear taller than what she already was.
Satisfied with her outfit of the day, she posed before the mirror and clicked numerous pictures.
Selecting the best one, she sent it to numerous people as well as posted it on her personal social networking profile as well.
{My baby looks great!} – Simon Yang
{Gorgeous as ever~} – TheOneAndOnlyGwen
{Meh} – Ren
Lina smiled at her father’s comment which took the first spot followed by her best friend in the whole wide world, Gwen, and finally came the annoying comment from Ren, another one of her best friends.
While Gwen was her #1 fan, Ren took the position of always teasing and squabbling with her.
Her two best friends were both goofy and fun people and she loved them with all her heart.
Scrolling below, Lina read other comments which had soon begun to flood in.
Each of the comments below the picture she had posted was sent in through official, verified accounts of popular people.
The likes she gained within minutes of posting were also from famous personalities with who she was close or had a connection with either for work or personal purposes.
However, the rest of the world would never know about this as Lina’s social media account was set to ‘Private’ just like how she liked her life to be.
Unlike the other socialites who liked the fame and attention from their followers, Lina wished to share her memories with the people she knew and trusted.
Therefore, only a limited number of people knew of the existence of Lina Yang’s personal social media account.
After all, the pictures she had in this account were anything but ordinary.
Her vacation at luxurious island resorts, her dining with famous people, her closet treasures which others could only dream of were all showcased in the pictures she had posted throughout the years.
‘I forgot about the time!’ Lina grimaced after realizing that she had been scrolling down memory lane on her social media account for many minutes now.
Putting her phone away in a haste, she glanced at the mirror one last time and nodded in satisfaction.
Her hair was left loose today, her clothes were proper and her face looked clean with her skin supple and glowing.
‘Just the way I like it~’ She giggled as she picked up a matching black handbag and walked out of the door.
When she reached the bottom of the staircase, she found Butler Mo standing while Stacy and the two men were seated as they waited for her return.
“Miss, for work hours.” The Butler handed her a small box which she knew held snacks for her to munch on while she worked.
“Butler Mo is the best!” She praised him without hesitation and saw the old man blush as he bowed to her.
Wade rolled his eyes while Benji shook his head.
Only Stacy was grinning widely as her sister would never stop teasing this old man whose face she liked immensely.
“Shall we?” Wade inquired while getting to his feet and buttoning his jacket.
Stacy would not have to leave with them so she watched from her seat as Lina and Benji nodded in acceptance.
“You and I have a lot to talk about.” She mouthed when Lina looked her way and saw her blush before striding out of the Luo Residence.
