Star Wars Legends Untold Force - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: Quarantine
Saber sends her message in the hope that Gailen will receive it in time. She had learned from Lando about I71B, a terrible bioweapon that slowly kills one of the infected victims and turns them into undead monsters, and the Empire plans to use Concorde Dawn. Attempts of the new republic to catch the transport were failed. So Saber shoots for a last-hungry plan. As the last fat on the planet and leader of the Resistance, she will challenge General Cody to a duel that will decide the fate of Concorde Dawn. Saber just hopes that this will happen before the release of the virus. With the challenge set before her message to Gailen, Saber only has to put on her armor and wait to see what happens. Cody is surprised at the similarity of his claimant to herself. The message shows a gorgeous blonde Mandalorian, clearly staring at the iron discipline of a warrior recognizes. He had not seen a single glance since the Clone Wars, and even then only in his face, that of primary clone Jango Fett and his gun brothers. This woman, Saber Fett was actually with him relative. Nervously, he strokes the back of his head, where an inhibitor chip is under the head. Had he done the right thing all those years ago? Yes, Cody is firm conviction. If he could follow his orders without turning ConcordeDawn into a nightmare, it would be worth the death of his niece. But just to be sure, he synchronizes the container contained in the I71B with his inhibitor chip before an officer submits a message. ‘Absolute quarantine is over the planet, sir. Grand Moff Randd awaits the release of Greywing. ” ‘Good. Hiding I71B in the corpse of the resistance leader Cassus Fett. He will join me for a duel. ” Cody answers and leaves the star destroyer center in the direction of Hangar. But he gets more and more nervous when Ed announces that the Imperial Fleet has completely quarantined the planet. The Scimitar lands off of Concorde, Saber says goodbye to her droids. Shortly before she enters the place of the duel Resistance fighters come to her while peasants cheer her. From a nearby hill, Gailen watches as Saber heads for the Concorde through a crowd of Mandalorians and some Resistance fighters join her. In the months of their separation, his Saber had risen to the leader and took over her brother’s position. At this moment, Gailen realizes that he would not be able to influence the outcome of this fight or the vision he had of Saber in the very armor that she now wears had. It would happen. He would not save like a Sith Saber out of selfishness or save targets like a Jedi because of Herer. He would accept what is happening and make the best of it, no matter what that means to him. Saber feels Gailen’s eyes watching her and pursuing her since she left the Scimitar. An unnatural calm begins to climb in and relax her nerves. The Concorde is reached the opposite of the Imperials. General Cody is already awaiting her Stoic mine. ” Ahn. Did not expect that you really face me. ” ” I am Mandalorianer. We do not run away. ” Counters Saber and the clone smiles. “But your Imp. File says something else ….” And with a wave of the hand a bark is led out of the landing craft. ” … I think your followers want to bury their true leader. ” ‘He’s Death, murdered by Imperial Blasterfire and you’ll be ousted for it.’ ‘Saber roars angrily, throws 4 term detectors into the ranks of the stormtroopers and fires her jetpack. Even before she has reached a good 3 meters explode their detectors and a loud bang roars forth as the landing craft explodes. A single blaster shot from Cody drops Saber to the ground again. With a dull thud on the damp earth, she bounces, unrolls, and activates a shield on her left arm, which intercepts the Spwerrampf of Stormtroopers. Her blaster already in the left she can not return the fire and hard. With the Weak Shield she changes her hand, leading her blaster, and creates cover fire. With the ever-thickening smoke from Frag of the DropShip, she circles the stormtroopers in the sprint while firing at her helmets. Saber can only make out the edges of the helmets because of the heat of the Frag’s flames. Suddenly thrown from the legs and lifted high in the air Saber General Cody noticed only when it is late. Sabers spinal cord breaks on the general’s knee with a bone-splitting bang. Ignoring the pain, saber pulls a knife out of her sleeve and sticks out in the direction of her attacker’s skull. Paralyzed by the hip abwert, Saber’s blade dislocates the helmet and lands on the neck, where Saber kills with the last of his strength between helmet and skull. Screaming with pain, Cody pulls his helmet off his head and throws the paralyzed Saber to the ground. With the Vanishing Smoke, Saber sees the victims of the fight. Dead stormtroopers lie scattered in front of Frag. At least Saber would not die alone. Cody feels panicked at the back of his head, looking for his inhibitor chip. To his horror, he feels only destroyed remains, as well as a disturbing gaggle come from the barque, in which the body of cassuses and the I71B virus is kept. Fearless of what’s coming, Cody moves closer and closer to the question. Saber observes that her brother comes out of the bark animalically gurgled. Just sniffing the air, he is already approaching her. Slowly, then quickly, Cassus storms on all fours to storm her. Saber still tries to stop him with her blaster, but the injury has no effect. Stripping off her helmet, the smell of burnt meat is getting stronger, before Cassius’ teeth sink into Sabers neck and a big piece of shoulder travels out. She does not realize from the pain of being alone that Cassus is feeding on the stormtroopers after her. Saber finally loses the consciousness when she hears Gailen’s footsteps on Concorde. Gailen can feel Saber’s life slowly drying up. In an attempt to reach for it, infected stormtroopers and Saber’s brother attack him. With lightning speed, his new lightsaber is pulled open its parry bar lock and the sea blue blade shoots out. With lightness the blade burns through the bodies of the soldiers. Gailen, himself, Saber, and the Infected are trapped in a Machsphere raging with his lightscreen, which is glowing red, occupying the full length of the Parrier rod and about two heads longer, circular. With one last jump, he separates his head from Cassus infected body, which twitches to the ground. He deactivates his lightscreen next to Saber’s unconscious body. Saber in his arms exterminates the anger in him and he takes off her helmet. Her delicate facial contours and her blond mane steal his breath. Power had made him endanger -Saber, would she save Saber? – Gailen asks when a stranger’s voice answers. Ask her to let your power be hers and hers yours. The shapeless voice commands him and Gailen opens his senses and uses power to reach for Saber’s being, her soul. General Cody watches as the power barrier withholds the infected. He had not experienced such an application of power in the Clone Wars, with hundreds of Jedi and Jedi masters. Where his former General Kenobi had shown an elegant use of power was now a concentration of pure, controlled power. No gross use of an inquisitor or demonstration of power to intimidate as Lord Vader had done, but purposeful extended use of power. With the well-known hum of a lightsaber splitting enemies, Cody is glad not to have been too close to the corpse. Even if he deserves it after all he did to the Jedi, Master Kenobi. Now without an inhibitor chip the guilty feelings just boil into him. An unbelievable pain seizes him, which causes him to suddenly end up with a blaster. Blaster bristled, held to the temple, and crushed, General Cody dies as an Imperial Officer on an otherwise insignificant planet.
