Star Wars New Order - Volume 1 Chapter 8 Wildness

Feeling the crystal in his hand Vaner let out a sigh in relief before becoming tense as he had no idea for how long he was in meditation. Clenching his hand holding the crystal Vaner decide to go out first as even if he wanted, he wouldn’t be able to see his crystal with the lack of light.

Here came another difficulty which was quite obvious how did he get out as he didn’t even know where he was in the cave, a moment after he questioned himself he felt as if he voice was speaking to him, it wasn’t really a voice but the spirit of the crystal he was holding that indicating him the way out.

On his way out of crystal cavern, Vaner didn’t see any other padawan, which made him think that they had already all return to the hall of the temple and that he was probably late but as master Yoda was there he knew after calming down that even the ice wall was back he could still go out.

Arriving near the exit Vaner decide to observe his crystal.

Opening his hand Vaner saw a purple crystal, purple was a possible color for Jedi as master Mace Windu had one, however, looking at his crystal Vaner frown. You see master Yoda explain before they entered that when a Jedi searching for a kyber crystal on Ilum found one, the originally uncolored crystal would glow generally in blue or green while synchronizing itself with the force of the Jedi then the crystal would lose his glowing color only conserving a small hue of the originally glowing color.

But here Vaner could clearly see that his crystal had not just a small hue, it was clearly purple and it had some crack not anything major just small one causing him to hold the crystal more gently as he was wondering if he would still work fine.

As he was starting to think of a way to repair his crystal the crystal spirit act again clearly telling him that he would work better than any other. Hearing his crystal proudly claiming his superiority Vaner started to understand why he succeeds in finding a crystal, there was some rebelling crystal too causing him to let out a small laugh.

Finally arriving at the entrance of the cave Vaner saw that the ice wall had not totally reformed and if he squatted down and walk like a duck he would be able to go to the other side easily. However, seeing the wall not full and quite thin at the end the wild spirit inside him refused to shame himself like this and his standpoint was back up by the crystal causing Vaner to stop as a wild smile appeared on his face.

Letting his instinct guide him, Vaner put his crystal in his left hand and start to walk toward the wall. As he was walking toward the wall pressure start increase around him as the Force flowing trough his body start to acc.u.mulate in his right arm. Arriving at the wall the Force around Vaner cause the dust on the ground to fly as if the wind was flowing around Vaner.

Standing in front of the wall the smile on Vaner face had changed while his wildness was still here it was tamer and calmer. Vaner then brought his right shoulder and arm back then as if it was on a launcher the arm head straight at the wall while his lower body twist to increase the punching force.

As his punch touched the wall all the Force he had gathered around and in him was released causing a burst of force, the impact was strong as more than half of the ten-meter ice wall burst open sending ice fragments to fly in the hall room. Stepping in the hall Vaner made few steps before falling on the ground unconscious and totally drained out.

While Vaner was preparing his punch master Yoda who was in the hall with the other padawan felt the movement of the force and felt that Vaner was on the other side of the wall. Feeling the acc.u.mulation of the force Yoda decides to see what Vaner was up too and wait for him to finish.

Once the force was released and the wall burst in countless ice shards Yoda made his move and stop all of them before sending them out of the temple. Having saved the younglings master Yoda turn around ready to give this wild apprentice some common sense about making an ice wall burst on his friend but he saw him falling on the ground and stop his fall right before he hit the ground.

Seeing this Yoda let out a sigh calming the other apprentice which were frightened by the explosion of the wall. Then Yoda told them to take their fellow apprentice before heading with them to board the ship.

Once in the ship, Yoda said to the pilot to send them back to the Jedi Order on Coruscant before going to Vaner compartment to see how he was doing. Entering the room Yoda saw Raskta taking care of Vaner while Bhak was sitting on a chair not fair letting out a sigh thinking that Vaner couldn’t stop himself from causing trouble during the padawan tests. God even when he didn’t participate, he still succeeds in falling in deep meditation after having a panic crisis.

Hearing the door open both Raskta and Bhak greeted Master Yoda after seeing him to which Yoda nod before coming next to the bed of Vaner and start examining his body. After examination, Vaner had just his right arm broken and some muscles torn but besides this, he was fine just totally exhausted, Master Yoda used the Force to accelerate his healing so he would be fine by the time they came back to Coruscant

This revelation made both Bhak and Raskta happy however unknown to them it caused Yoda to frown.

The use of the Force Vaner used in the cave was known to the Jedi it was called Force Burst, it was an advance technique which consists of releasing a burst of force that acc.u.mulates by the Jedi however this technique did not use the body of the Jedi as a conductor as it would need a really strong body first but more importantly because such thing would concentrate the burst making it even more lethal. Guiding the Force trough one own body was a Sith technique known as force destruction and what Vaner did was a mix of the two technique which Yoda didn’t found until now as he thought it was only a Force Burst.

While the technique Vaner use in the cave was neither of them as it was way to rough it frightened Yoda to see the talent Vaner displayed in both sides of the Force making him doubt his first decision of continuing the teaching of the young man.

What everyone forgot however was about the crystal, everyone assumed Vaner had found it but none checked and none saw it as the left hand of Vaner was still strongly clenched with his crystal being safe from any harm in it.
