Storm I: DanMachi - Chapter 23
Looking around the hidden library inside a hidden library. Once again, looking for things that will help him to get stronger for no reason at all. He already finished reading the “First Force: Void of Endless Possibilities from Nothingness” which gave him a lot of information about Void Magic and the omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient Void that were entered by both Broly and Gogeta due to the power of their concentrated blows.
At the 42nd row of shelves at section C, on the fourth floor. There, he looked around and read through the books and their ideas and the effects of what seems to be magic tools of some kind. Some can increase magic power in exchange for your physical body that will slowly rot, to decay, whatever you want to call it. Some grants infinite boosts on physical power in exchange for the person’s lifespan. Some even increases both, but you need to trade your soul to the devil to do that. And yes, Devils exists, but on another plane as they don’t really care about humans, mortals, or even angels and gods unless something piqued their interest.
In a nutshell, not all devils are evil. Some of them even give things freely without any exchange. Among the books Silver had read, books about devils got his interest. After all, they are much better than Gods as long as there’s contracts. Yes, Devils do what the contract says, but you need to be careful because they can find loopholes to their contracts. They’re devious, but not as petty as gods, not as liar as gods, and they are much civilized.
The only reason why there are history of them being summoned and causing havoc is because the summoning ritual is very, very wrong. The magic circles are done incorrectly that causes them to lose their IQ and just trust on their instinct on causing problems to any race, even other devils. They don’t discriminate. The most notable ones are the Gremlins. They might look like playful little devils, but they are much more intellectual than what they looked.
“I guess, I’ll try summoning a devil. I’ll try summoning a spirit too.” He muttered to himself.
[A/N: This is Laplace ❴when talking❵, this is Od ❨when talking❩, and this is Bahamut [when talking]. That’s all.]
❴You should try to learn Mnemonic chants while you’re at it.❵
‘Laplace?’
‘Od?’

‘Bahamut? And you used coffers for saying capacity?’

They turned silent.
‘Well, it’s not like I’m desperate to need their help.’
He continued to look into the library more until he saw a book with theories and blueprints. Well, not exactly a blueprint, but it was drawn in the book along with the parts and how to make each of them. However, the effect of the magic tool is only theorized to be able to produce an infinite amount of energy injected into it. Right now, it can only be used as an infinite Mana tank since it is made for magic. It’s called…

The Akashic Engine. It’s ability is to multiply Mana infinitely without losing the quality.
‘Who the hell would make something like this? If this fell into the wrong hands, it will only cause destruction. It’s a good thing that it wasn’t made yet and it is still a theory. Whoever thought of this, has a few screw loose.’

*Achoo!* “Who’s talking bad behind my back?!” Kane asked literally no one.
——————————–
All in all, he found absolutely over a thousand ideas on how to improve it, and then reduced it to 600s as some design of the engine can’t or is not designed to be able to do some things. And then he broke them down to two hundreds of possible things to add. Another second later, he reduced it down to hundred, to 50, to 20, and then stopped at 13. 13 ideas that are very useful to create and improved the theorized Akashic Engine even though it hasn’t been created yet. However, with the information on each parts on what is their purpose, their flaws, and what they can’t support are all in the book and he easily found 13 ideas on improving it drastically.
However, he’s not going to do it right now as he is busy looking at some possible useful things in the Forbidden section of the library where most knowledge that are store there are too powerful, have too much drawback, some are heaven defying, and some are in there because of how they were created. And the amount of them is like 2 floors of a building in one floor. It’s like comparing the size of the whole Korea to Japan.
He stayed there for three days without eating, sleeping, or even drinking water. He persisted, even if his huge pit of a stomach complained, he didn’t stopped.
After three days, he got out of there and he cooked himself a feast. Yes, a feast, as he can eat more than people can and he haven’t eaten in three days, so it’s expected of him to do so.
Almost all of the food in the fridge, that looked like a huge ice cavern, has been used to cook himself and eat until he’s full. He managed to finished all the food he cooked and not even a single piece is wasted.
After learning in the Forbidden section, he found and learned a lot of things, he even tried them in there. Of course, what he used are the ones that guaranteed him that it won’t cause any trouble or explosion. Well, except mnemonic chants. Because if he said “Explosion” in reverse, a magic circle will appear in front of him and will fire a blast of explosion.
He even saw on how to permanently fuse something inside a human body. Some of the experiments are about fusing the body with water to gain water body that will grant some kind of immortality for unknown reason. Of course, Silver knew why. Water particles is everywhere, and if a person obtained a water body, they are literally made of water and cannot be hurt or killed with ordinary means. The only ways to do so is to use the opposite element, or freeze it with its own branched element, or use null elements such as Space, Time, and Void.
He also saw how to store something inside a human body without needing a surgeon for a transplant. This kind of thing have some disadvantages as expected. There’s 99% chance of dying. But that is in the mages’ minds since most of them, if not all, have weak body even though it is better than normal average humans. And him being physically strong, he will surely survive it, and he will also get a bonus if he ever did so. For now, he’s not a fool to risk his own life without any reason at all.
Why does he want power? No reasons at all. Why does he keep training? To protect himself? To protect others? No. He’s training without any reason. Why did he liked crafting? Because it is fun? Because it gives a sense of achievement? No. It’s because he just want to. Why did he wish for a rival? To feel the heat of the battle? No. It’s to make sure that there will be someone to stop him if he ever become crazy, or evil. The only thing he cares about is the consequences of his decisions, not the people affected by them, he doesn’t care even a bit. He only cared for his family, and the rest of the people in different worlds can burn for all he care.
After he finished eating, he decided to get his status updated. He knew that he will get a huge jump on his status since he can literally increase his power by up to thrice his power by enhancing his body with Mana and boost his Ki. And no, it’s not Mana Burst or Power Buff of some sort. He have no real technique or control to do it, but he’s planning to develop one. And by him going further than floor 20 in just a few weeks is way too impressive and astonishing to the gods as he’s just a level 1.
‘Time to upgrade my status.’

[Vault of Information]
Silver doesn’t like to get attached to people who can’t even change their own destiny paved by other people for them.. Keyword, “doesn’t like to get attached”.
