Stronghold In The Apocalypse - Chapter 225
“Lightning Blast!”
Bzzzt~!
A streak of lightning suddenly appeared on Min’s fingers as she pointed at a zombie in the distance and killed it, and then the lightning jumped to a nearby zombie, then to another before disappearing, killing the two zombies it jumped onto.
“Whoa, that’s kinda cool” Soldier One couldn’t help but feel amazed at the scene he had just witnessed.
“I’ve always been curious, are ability users chuunis or something? Why do they always utter words like Windblade or Fireball everytime they use their abilities? Do you have to be a chuuni to become an ability user because they are not embarrassed saying those words?” said Soldier Two while rubbing his chin with a thoughtful look on his face.
Min, who understood the meaning behind the word chuuni couldn’t help but get embarrassed when she heard what he said.
“Th..this, w-when you awaken as an ability user like you said. Information about your skill would appear in your mind, and you can only activate your ability by uttering its name” explained Min while looking down as her foot fidgeted, still feeling quite embarrassed.
And the kids, who’re seeing this side of her for the first time couldn’t help but laugh in silence.
But Min noticed them, and gave them a glare, the older kids quickly shut their mouths, but the younger ones stuck out their tongue towards her while pulling down their eyelids with their fingers while laughing.
‘Ughh..these kids!’
“Let’s continue on, we’re almost there” Alex just gave her a nod before saying those words.
Min looked at Alex’s back before running after him with the kids.
‘Is he not even amazed? Well, must be because he’s an ability user too’
Min had the misunderstanding that Alex is also an ability user the first she witnessed his actions on dealing with the zombies.
In fact, everyone except for Leo who had seen Alex in action had mistaken him as an ability user because of how superb his skills are, not knowing that the man himself was actually a cyborg to begin with, whose combat skills and reflexes are just a little below that of the strengthened Leo.
Meanwhile.
Just ten minutes after Alex and the crew had rescued the kids.
A group of five people can be seen approaching from the opposite direction of the street, and when they reached the front of the building where the kids were hiding before, they stopped in their tracks.
“Let’s go, it’s time to teach this group of arrogant kids a lesson,” one of them said before taking the lead through the stairs.
“Yeah! Teach them and take all of their belongings!”
“And boss, are we gonna capture them and sell them to Tartarus Survivor Camp?” one of the women couldn’t help but voiced out her thoughts as the group reached the third floor of the apartment building.
The leader of the group with long hair laughed and said, “Of course, we’re gonna sell them. Especially that kid Min, she’ll sell a lot as she’s an ability user”
“We can really take them, right?”
“Of course, we can’t take them head on. That’s the reason why we would quickly bust through the door and get one of the kids hostage so that Min and her two sidekick brats would be forced to give up”
The long haired man laughed maliciously as he’s already imagining the riches they’ll get if they manage to sell Min to the Tartarus Survivor Camp, and at the same time, they would also be able to live in the survivor camp if everything went smoothly.
“But isn’t it weird? There’s barely any zombies in the street”
“It’s probably those people on the ship who cleared them up as there have been continouos gunshot in the past couple of hours”
But when they reached the fifth floor, all of them were startled to see the door open of the former hideout of the kids.
The group run towards the room, and all they saw inside are abandoned garbage and furniture but no kids in sight.
“Boss, they’re not here”
The leader gritted his teeth in anger, and snapped at them, “Quick! To the rooftop! They must be hiding there”
This group seemed to have forgotten the rule of not making too much noise, as all of them kept talking in raised voices.
It’s either they are confident in their skills or that they’re just too dumb to noticed that they’ve a stalker watching them because of how rowdy they are.
The group passed through the door and arrived at the rooftop, but even there, they didn’t see any signs of the kids, and on top of that, they didn’t even notice the Hunter Zombie that followed after them and leapt on top of the small building behind them, watching them.
“Dammit, where the hell are those damn kids!?”
Their leader gritted his teeth and kicked a nearby can out of anger.
“Heok!”
“Bo..boss!”
“What!?”
“Th…there!
One of the goons pointed at the Hunter Zombie with trembling hands, and when all of them saw it, all of their faces became pale as they started trembling!
“D..don’t panic! G..get in formation! Quick!”
All of them quickly pulled out their weapons and went into a triangular formation, and while that was happening, the Hunter Zombie just stood still and watched them, not moving at all.
Their earlier panic had already disappeared. After all, it’s not like they had never faced a mutated zombie before, but the one thing that worries them is if it’s not alone and might have brought a companion with it, and that would really complicate things as some of them would really die if there’s two mutated zombies.
“Why is it not moving?”
All of them are feeling creeped out because the zombie is just standing there on all fours, watching them, seemingly with no intention to attack them at all.
Meanwhile.
“Oh right, I forgot to do something”
Soldier one suddenly stopped in his tracks, and took out something from his chest pocket.
“What’s that mishter?” asked the curious little girl when she saw the thing in his hand.
“Oh, this one? This is a detonator girly” said Soldier One with a laugh.
“Ohhh…what does it do mishter?” asked the little girl with eyes filled with curiosity.
Soldier One laughed while the other kids were also curiously looking at it, while Art who happened to overhear the conversation was looking at the scene nervously, especially the detonator on Soldier One’s hands.
‘Is he planning to bomb something?’
Soldier One suddenly laughed mischievously and leaned towards the little girl and presented the detonator before her.
“Why don’t you press the red button there and see what happens?”
‘No..’ Art thought wide eyed as he can’t believe what the man is trying to make the little girl do.
“Okay!” replied the little girl in excitement and slowly pressed the button.
BOOOM!!!
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!
And a distance behind them, their former hideout, the apartment building, exploded to pieces!
“Wow, it sounds like thunder! Mishter! Can we do it again!?”
The little girl pulled at the hemp of Soldier One’s clothes, her eyes shining with desire and excitement.
“Eh? W-what?”
