Stronghold In The Apocalypse - Chapter 242
Alex and Leo charged through the ranks of zombies as they decapitated every zombie around them into two.
A hunter zombie appeared on top of the building mall and watched the chaos happening below it while softly growling.
Then it quickly charged down the wall of the building, and halfway through, it suddenly leapt with a powerful strength towards Leo and Alex who had just killed almost all of the zombies and were already just a few meters away from the entrance of the hardware store.
Alex’s right eye flashed red as his left hand suddenly flashed like a shadow whip as he pulled his handgun from the holster on his waist.
Swoosh!
The hunter was just a meter away from pouncing at them when the barrel of a handgun was already on its face as a bullet ejected from the barrel.
In that moment, everything felt like it was moving in slow motion as the bullet launched towards the hunter’s head.
Bang!
The bullet pierced through the hunter dead in the head as the light in its eyes dimmed and slammed towards Alex whom the latter just slapped it to the side as it lay there on the ground lifelessly.
Leo, on the other hand, blasted a zombie’s head like a watermelon with his fist.
“Dammit, look at what you’ve done. You just had to sneak up on me” Leo cursed in anger as he tried to get rid of the mangled mess on his hand by shaking it furiously while wearing a disgusted face.
“You done?”
Leo had just turned around and saw Alex beheading a zombie with his hand like a blade.
“Just now, sir” answered Alex as the headless body of the zombie fell on the ground before him.
Leo just rolled his eyes at him before looking at the mess around them of sprawled zombies on the ground.
“Sir”
“Hmm?”
When Leo turned around, he saw Alex gesturing at something with his chin towards the direction of the hardware store.
Leo quickly turned his head around and was just in time to see someone ducking his or her head behind a shelf inside the building, who was probably watching them earlier through the glass wall.
From how the person quickly hid, the person must have realized that they had already discovered him or her.
“There’s a survivor here?”
Leo couldn’t help but get a little flabbergasted as the hardware store was clearly not an ideal place for a hideout with how many zombies were surrounding the place earlier, and there was even a Hunter zombie lurking around!
“Let’s go meet them then”
Leo smiled as he led the way towards the entrance of the building.
When the two got there, they quickly noticed that the entrance is barricaded with heavy things like shelves, and especially, there’s a small freaking car!
“Wow, that’s genius”
He couldn’t help but be amazed at the ingenuity of the survivors living inside this place.
“Go back! There’s nothing here! If you force your way in! We will shoot you!”
“G-go away!”
There was a sudden yell of a woman coming from inside the building, followed by other people who started threatening Leo and Alex, probably hoping to scare them away.
Leo scrunched up his face and looked at Alex weirdly, “Are they threatening us?”
“I think they do sir” nodded Alex, seeming not understanding why Leo is asking him something so obvious.
“Ha!” Leo snorted as he chuckled.
“That’s not how you threaten someone, your voice should be domineering, not cute and stuttering!” yelled back Leo while laughing, it was because the voice of the first woman who yelled at them earlier sounded a little cute.
“Shut up! Go away or we will f*cking kill you, you two bastards!”
The same voice of the woman earlier sounded again, but this time, she was clearly angry.
“That’s more like it!” yelled back Leo with a smile, feeling quite amused.
Then he turned his head to Alex and said, “Seems like the main entrance is not available. How about up?”
Alex saw Leo pointing at the glass wall on the second floor, and he nodded at him.
Meanwhile, inside the hardware store.
Five armed people, three women and two men around mid twenties and early thirties are huddled together as they watch the two scary strangers outside through a peephole between the shelves.
“What are they doing?” asked aloud a blue haired girl.
“Hopefully leaving, we won’t be able to handle them if they decide to force their way in. You guys saw how they easily dispatched those zombies outside, especially that scary fast zombie” said another woman with slick long black hair with parts of her arms and legs covered in somewhat beautiful tattoos.
“Wait…what is that guy doing?”
They quickly turned their attention back outside when they heard that and saw the man with an army cut hairstyle positioning himself into a running stance.
“Holy crap!”
Bang!
At first, they were confused when they saw the man lightly run for a couple of steps, and then the man suddenly disappeared like a flash, then soon after, they heard the glass breaking at the second floor!
“What just happened!?”
“Stop panicking and let’s quickly head upstairs”
They panicked at first before the black haired woman angrily yelled at them before she took off towards the stairs that leads towards the second floor, and the others looked at each other for a second before they hurriedly followed after her with guns blazing!
Nope, they were just armed with machetes, a small chainsaw and fire axes.
Outside.
“Huh? I was clearly pointing at the rooftop earlier. Why did he jump to the second floor?”
Slightly shaking his head, Leo leapt towards the now existing hole at the second floor, knowing that Alex had clearly misunderstood his intentions earlier when he pointed upwards.
“Offt! Dammit, I still can’t use to this”
Cursed Leo as he almost slipped on the floor when his feet landed inside the building through the hole that Alex had carelessly destroyed.
