Stronghold In The Apocalypse - Chapter 243
“Who are you!? How did you two do that!?”
He had just arrived there when Leo was greeted by an angry group of survivors ferociously glaring at the two of them.
“Hmm?”
Leo couldn’t help but open his eyes wide when he saw a familiar face among the survivors living inside this building.
“Whoa! I didn’t expect to see a friendly face here” said Leo as he walked over beside Alex while wearing a playful smile on his face.
“Who are you? Do we know each other?”
When the black haired woman realized that those words were directed at her, she couldn’t help but frown while looking at Leo directly in his eyes.
Looking at the woman who’s somewhat attractive and cute at the same time, whose height is probably just around five feet and three inches, the small smile on Leo’s face couldn’t help but widen more because he wasn’t expecting to meet this woman under these circumstances.
“You might have forgotten about me, but I didn’t forget you”
“I’m Leo, and it’s a pleasure to finally meet you once again, Bella”
Leo smiled and gave her a gentlemanly bow.
The eyebrows of the woman called Bella jumped when she heard that.
“Just who the f*ck are you?”
“Well, we met once when I came to Hawaii for a vacation, and why are you here? Aren’t you in the Navy?” Leo just laughed.
“Did we hook up?”
Ignoring Leo’s question, Bella instead threw her own question at him while she slowly lowered her weapon, but still pretty guarded towards the two strangers.
“Hahaha!”
This time, Leo truly laughed out loudly.
“No, but you did slap me in the face when you finally realized my advances towards you” said Leo while wiping off the tears in his eyes from laughing so hard.
Bella’s eyes widened as a certain memory quickly surfaced inside her mind.
“You! You’re that as*hole from a few months ago who thought that I was an easy woman!” she said, angrily pointing at Leo.
“Why are you here!? No, should I instead say, why is a bastard like you still alive!?””
Leo just waved his hand to dismiss her while laughing at her reaction and instead changed the subject at hand, “Anyway, don’t mind us. We’re just getting a few things here, and in ex-”
“And why the hell would we allow you two to do what you want?”
Seeing that the small talk is finally over, the man who seems to be the oldest among them just from his appearance quickly cuts off Leo.
Leo helplessly raised his hands in the air and replied, “Just let me finish, before you say anything, yeah?”
“And in exchange, we’ll give you guys food, yeah?”
Bella and the others looked at each other, and they could see the eyes of the others shining just at the mention of food.
After all, they’ve been starving for almost five days now because they got stuck here when they were trying to escape from the zombie horde and worst of all, they weren’t able to go out because of the swarm of zombies surrounding the building before.
And they only survived this far by rationing their remaining food that they had left behind in this place when they escaped here.
“Why don’t you let us discuss this first?” said Bella, suddenly no more scared of Leo and Alex, probably because Leo could still be considered as a friend even though their first meeting didn’t really go that well.
“No worries, take your time” answered Leo with a smile.
Bella nodded and their group quickly distanced themselves from the two as they quickly started talking while glancing at the two men from time to time.
“So what do you guys think? Should we accept it?” Bella asked.
“We should, our food will only last us until tonight, and even when the zombies surrounding us have been cleared up, we wouldn’t have the required energy for a supply run” the woman with short blue hair quickly raised the problems they are facing.
“No, what if they have another motive in mind and they are just using the excuse of taking some items here?”said the second guy among the group whose long hair is almost reaching his shoulders, and when he said those words, he couldn’t help but glance at Bella with deep meaning.
“I agree with what Mina had said, we should agree with them. After all, we’re not really losing out on this deal as we don’t even own the things here. In fact, we don’t even have any use for most of them” interjected a woman around early thirties, with one of her hands intertwined together with the man who cut off Leo earlier.
“But-”
“Shut up, Grif! Have you seen what they did outside? You saw it, right? So let’s just say we don’t agree to their deal, and they get angry and decide to kill us instead. Can you fight them off then?”
Seeing that Grif seems to be hell bent on refusing the deal, Mina coldly cuts him off. She had never liked this guy ever since day one when he started trying to pursue Bella, her best friend.
Who seems to not understand that her friend had already told him that she doesn’t like him at all, and he was even so thick skinned that he had even followed them all the way to Hawaii!
And when chaos broke out, he was literally useless and had endangered their group a couple of times because of his arrogance and ego!
If it wasn’t for Bella and the old veteran couple, who had been leading the group, then they would have died multiple times by now if it wasn’t for them.
At least for her, she knows her place and knows what she can or cannot do.
And when she finally has the chance to put him into his place, she certainly wouldn’t miss it!
“This..I..”
Griff stuttered in embarrassment as he didn’t know what to say to that.
It’s because he knows he probably wouldn’t even know how he died if he angered the other group.
“Then shut it, can’t you see that you’re the only one who doesn’t want to agree to this?” Mina laughed coldly, a little satisfied that she’s at least able to slap his annoying ego to the ground.
She didn’t even care that he’s angrily glaring at her, because she is already hatching a plan ever since she witnessed what Leo and Alex could do.
