Struggle Of Love - Chapter 2 Kai
POV: May
Today, like any other, I am in my bed reluctant to get ready for college. I have an exam today and my eyes are paining. Can I tell that to my mom or dad? No. Whose fault? Mine. Yesterday night it was 2:56 AM, oh that’s today morning I mean, by the time I finished the first season of Code geass. And it was nice!
I wanted to start with season 2. But I had to stop. If I skip today, I will fail this semester, no doubt. If I do attempt the test I will get some marks. At least, enough to pass. Again, I told myself that I wouldn’t be staying past 12 from now on. If only I had a determination like those shonen heroes, I thought to myself.
I got ready for the day and realized I had a freaking half an hour before the test starts as I reached college. I hurried to the exam hall and flipped the pages of my notes written in the ugliest handwritings because I am half the time sleepy in the class. Life of an anime lover, I guess.
The exam started. And ended. If someone’s going to ask me how it went, I will slap that face. But hey, I am going to pass for now. Semester exams are going to be my death though.
And after waiting for some more hours I’m happy at home with my phone. At last, season 2, here I come! All the while during the exam, I prayed for Lelou to be alive even though Suzaku is my favourite. Once again, who wants to chose between Naruto and Sasuke or Viktor and Yuri? This is called fangirling. I am a fangirl. Since long!
When I checked the time again, it was 1:10 AM. I had my dinner sometime between and now I should sleep. Four more episodes and this season is done. But still I shut off my phone. Too much in a day isn’t so good. And sleep came before my phone slipped off my hands and onto my bed.
POV: Sai
“Hey,” I greeted my brother. I would be staying with him for two or three days. Somehow, I feel lonely staying at my hostel which is not far away from my university.
“Hi Kai,” I said as I stood up. Though I call him by name, which, by the way started a few months ago, I really do respect him and I want to be a good younger brother to him. I maybe fearful of him a little, but not too much. He just came back from work. He is a research scholar in medicine and he made that his job. Research on one hand and being a learner for life.
“Is she home?” He asked about his fiancee, Hana.
“No.”I answered.
“I’ll be back in ten,” he said and went to freshen up. I sat back on the sofa. Sometime with him will make me feel lively again. He is an amazing person no matter how things are between us.
“So,” he started and that startled me. I stood up.
“Sit down,” he said lazyly. Things are really going good between us recently. It was strained for a year, when I had to choose my college three years ago. It’s been a while, but still, I do feel guilty. He really didn’t want me to go to a hostel, away from him. Probably, he misses me more that I do. Very recently, I have started being with him too much. Hostel is suffocating. There’s a girl after me. As simple as that. Every weekend I am home. Or, the girl and her gang of predators would force me and some othet targeted guys to go out to some night club with them. This time, however, I am home for the whole week. Everytime I plan on a maximum of three-day stay, it turns out to become a week’s happy time unless it’s a two-days time of a weekend.
I took two steps and sat across from him. “So a voluntary week off again? Will you be going to her as well?” My brother is one of those very few souls that knew of May and me.
“No, I’m fine here.” The thought of meeting her is a complex mix of hope and regret.
“It’ll be fine. If you want a suggestion, try.”
“Yes, just after sometime.”
The door bell rang. Kai walked to open, “Must be her.”
POV: General
As soon as the door was opened, the pretty lady was greeted by her beloved. “What’s with the sad face?”
“I don’t want to cook today,” she says as she enters.
“And why?” he asked as she put her shoes away.
“I’m sad. Had a fight with Yaga.” Yaga was her close friend and collegue at work.
“You two fight a lot.”
“Hi,” the couple was interrupted by a peaceful smiling face..
“Hey! When did you get here?”
“Three hours ago.” Sai had the last and third set of keys, even if he would only come once in a fortnight or some times, especially like past few months, every weekend.
“I will cook,” he offered.
“And I will overlook,” Kai siad and winked at her. Afterall, he was his brother’s teacher in the subject.
With that the two guys were off to kitchen. Hana went to take a quick bath. Yaga was her bestfriend, they fought for the millionth time this day and went homes without being fine at the end. She hoped they will be back tomorrow.
Dinner was cooked. The two brothers were passionate about cooking since they knew they had to do it for themselves. Time made both great cooks. Hana was better though.
After dinner and some chit chat which included mostly Hana teasing Sai about being afraid of the girl from the uni. What could he tell? There was pressure on him from his roommates too once they knew he turned down the girl. Then sometimes his brother would interrupt asking about May without voicing her name. With Hana getting all curious about who this ‘her’ was every time he came here, and not getting the answer, she silently listens. Sai wouldn’t answer her either. Kai was anyway difficult when it comes to a request from his brother. But hey, was she an outsider still? She knew better than to get depressed over this.
After talking for an hour after dinner they go to sleep. Sai slept in one room and the couple in the other.
