Struggle Of Love - Chapter 33 Closed Eyes
Finally, after sometime, he said, “People our age don’t even get married yet here we are already having kids. . .”
“What?” Really, I wonder where this part of his mind ran off to in the bed. No, what he said is definitely not the truth.
He fidgeted before saying, “I mean, are you fine with all of this?” He asked unsurely.
“I am. You don’t seem to be fine enough though, why are you trying to persuade me in the other direction?”
“I’m not,” his low voice defended as he turned around to end the conversation.
That night, I didn’t sleep. I couldn’t sleep. That was when I first discovered his early morning routine.
In fact, I had once woken up the week before to find him going out of our room. I didn’t give it much thought. He could have needed water perhaps, I thought.
But ever since I saw him put on a track suit and walk out, I have been seeing the same day after day.
I didn’t realize I started crying again. Crying has become a habit recently. I decided that I should talk to mom and dad about him, getting anything from May was too time-consuming, and Sai just can’t be very helpful in dealing with her. As much as I don’t want our parents to worry, they are my best hope. When I had told them I was pregnant the morning the day after I had told James, they were ecstatic.
I then realized that he could be back any moment and lied down on the bed. I knew it wasn’t time the right time to confront him. He would simply lie. I had asked him if anything was wrong a lot of times but he mentioned nothing.
The door clicked open and I continued to close my eyes.
After he came out o the bathroom, I went in and then we went downstairs. He proceeded to the living room where dad was and I went to help mom; she was starting to make breakfast.
“Good morning Jessy!” She greets. “Good morning mom,” I greet back.
In an hour, we were arranging the breakfast on the table. The morning breakfast was nothing unusual. Afterwards, James was ready for his job quiet fast and left after a quick goodbye while I was just on the sofa lazily watching the news on the TV.
“Are you not going to get the shop, today?” Dad asked as he joined to watch the TV.
I had thought about how to tell them ever since I woke up. Though, I don’t have a clear idea, I just wanted to tell them everything. “I have something important to tell you and mom,” I said as I stood up to call mom.
The three of us sat on the sofa; I sat in between the two. Somehow, when mom put her arm around my shoulder pulled me in a hug and asked what was wrong, I suddenly cried. They were shocked. Perhaps this was the first time that I cried ever since this became my home.
I was born into an average family. My family had my mother, father, my younger sister and me.
When I joined the preschool, my younger sister, Jenny was born. Life was very happy then. I had made a friend at that school within a week and his name was James, now my husband. He was quite amused when he saw my sister for the first time that she very much like me. We were indeed too similar, certain features like our short but pointed noses and a bit bigger than average mouths were easily identifiable. His home was nearer to the school and so he would wait a little longer every time my mother brought Jenny along to pick me up from school. Due to James’s insistence on playing with little Jenny, our mothers got to know each other. There was even a time when he dragged me, Jenny and my mother to his house to show some new toys. He was soon my best friend.
