Struggle Of Love - Chapter 8 My Fiancee
POV: Kai
After sometime since my little brother left I walked into the living.
“Now then, what are all the secrets you boys keep from me?” Hana asked from behind.
“Nothing,” I simply told her.
“Why? I promise I won’t do anything with it. It’s just..” she trailed off.
“Just about how I didn’t want him to leave me all alone. But you are here now, so I’m good and he’s good.” She gave me a poker face at that. In knew she isn’t someone to be sweet talked into. But that was also a small truth.
“You know what I’m asking. About that girl.” She knew about that epic fight. She also told me that I should not be so baby to not let my brother out, not when it has to do with studies. I wish she gets scared of me like Sai and would not have called me a kid. But no, it’s like all the faces I do in front of her are transparent. I am not usually harsh with people but I tend to pretend. The control I get with that really does me favours. One of those looks and hell calms down. I never acted like that with Sai and now that I have sometimes recently, I know how scared he will be because of the sudden change. I have tried it with her, I am doing it now too but it doesn’t work the same.
“Seriously Hana, it’s not even seven in the morning and you are being so impossible, stubborn.” When I look at her she gave me a pleasing smile. I don’t know if she is pretending. What’s even the fun in knowing when she cannot gossip on it anywhere?
“I want to know. I’m not an outsider.” God she will be my death some day.
“Look, you don’t have to know every single thing about us. Especially about my brother. He won’t be happy to know that I told you.”
“That’s nonsense. He is more free with me than he has been with you since I’m here. I am an equal family to him as you are.”
“What the hell? Are you out of your mind or are you seeing your dreams. In your dreams that happens Hana. So shut up.
“How long have you even known him? For god’s sake we are not even married. So stop counting yourself with us. You are far from being a family yet. Especially to him.
“And tell me. If you are just as much as I am to him, why did he turn a deaf ear to you when you asked him?” That got her. She took a minute before talking meaningless things again.
“He is just shy to tell me. And I bet that’s because I’m a girl.” Oh please, does she even hear how lame that excuse sounds?
“Just tell me you have realized you are wrong Hana. It was right in your face, eh?”
“Are you this egotistical, Kai?”
What? Wasn’t she the one that started all of this?
“Excuse me lady, I had to speak and because of whom?”
“At least now I know how you really are. Oh, and thanks for reminding me that we don’t have to be together for the whole rest of our lives.” With a weird kind of smile she left the place.
