Stuck In A World Of Magic - Chapter 1 Chapter One
“Where… Where am I?”
“Welcome, O chosen one, to the judgement hall.”
“Judgement hall? ‘The chosen one’? Who are you?”
The sound bounced off the walls as I heard my voice playing over and over again, like a broken record player, of which each recording’s sound started to weaken, like the shine of a dying star. Greeted with silence, fear momentarily entered my body, slipping smoothly through my brave facade and travelling through my veins. Once having realised my mistake, I reactivated my multiple walls of defense.
I asked the same question once again, reassuring myself again and again that I was not afraid, that the person behind this wouldn’t hurt me. Or, at least, I think so. I pushed the last thought aside, managing to calm down and save the, only remaining, microscopic sliver of logic I had left in me. I asked the question once more, and, as expected, the same answer of calm, precious silence was bestowed upon me once more.
“I am Parvizal.”
Well, that was definitely not what I anticipated.
“Well, am I dead?” My timid, almost weak, voice, called out, not surviving long in the eerie darkness.
“Well, no. You’re actually in your subconscious.” The voice- Parvizal, replied. Somehow, I had the feeling that it was true.
“Do you remember the silver bracelet you bought?”
“Yeah… I wore it before I went to sleep and got here. It’s… Not on me now, somehow?”
“It was made to transport people into another world.”
“Ah, well… Is there any way to… Go back from that world into my own?” Desperation could be heard in my, now, cracking voice.
“Yes. However, you must find the silver bracelet that you lost. I’m sorry, miss.” He muttered. I looked down, disappointed by the answer. I expected it, but I was still in denial.
“However, I will help you survive in that magical world.” He continued. Hope flickered in my heart like a luminous flame, giving me light and guiding me out of my misery.
“Fate has lots in store for you.”
I smiled.
“Whatever it is, I’m ready.”
Booming laughter was heard from beyond the void, as my legs numbed and my ears seemed to be unblocked, hearing muffled sounds as I awakened into a new world.
