Stuck In A World Of Magic - Chapter 8 Chapter eigh
I breathed weakly, closing my eyes. Only the sound of shallow breaths invaded my ears as I blocked everything out.
I grasped the sword tightly in my hands, my eyes only see the blade in peripheral vision. Like having tunnel vision, I could only see the sharp edge of the sword.
Something switched in me as I immediately went on autopilot, like a flurry of a thousand Phoenix wings, wind blasted all sides. Similar to which a tornado operates, I left only a trail of destruction in my wake.
I looked back at Elquior as I elbowed a man in the stomach.
Argus-eyed* as ever, Elquior smiled proudly.
My heart picked up pace, a blush spreading across my face as I looked away, continuing to slice through the bandits.
Panting, I looked at the only one left.
“Huh? Wha-!”
Before I could even react, I was on the ground. Something warm trickled down my mouth, as adrenaline wore off.
Pain flooded my senses as I looked at the scenery, trying to distract myself from the ever blooming pain.
Looking down, a knife in my stomach made me nauseous.
Coughing, my eyes landed on Elquior.
Elquior, having noticed my situation, smiled coldly at the last, remaining bandit, and ignored him.
Huh?
“Nice to see a fallen here, isn’t it?”
Voice deadly calm, he surveyed the trees.
A slight rustle came from the trees as a mysterious figure revealed themselves.
“Awe, no fun, El.”
A black blur ran past me as the wind soothed my wound.
A huge slam was heard as I turned towards the sound with breakneck speed.
There he was. Elquior was holding a man by the throat, lifting him up ever so slightly.
Pulling the fallen towards him like a ragdoll, Elquior whispered softly in his ear, as shivers were sent down the fallen’s spine.
My vision went blurry as I saw a sickening grin appear on Elquior as he let the man down.
The last thing I saw before I blacked out was Elquior’s concerned face as he lifted me up.
Argus-eyed: Vigilant.
