Subscriber of the Gods - Chapter 113: Choosing Merchandise
Hang Woo crossed his arms and looked at the number of his subscribers and likes.
“It’s stagnated.”
There was a time when Hang Woo was chosen by numerous subscribers as the antithesis of Heracles.
It was because he was the most straightforward among the gods known for their power.
Although the difficulty was high, if you could thoroughly understand it, you could exert power that was superior to other gods in that it was more definitive. This made him stand out.
However, that was only for a while. At some point, the growth of Hang Woo’s channel stagnated.
Hang Woo soon realized why.
“Is it because I can’t teach various abilities?”
There were so many gods that could replace Hang Woo’s abilities. There were plenty of gods who appealed with power. There were Heracles, and above Hang Woo’s rank was a god called Chuck, known as the swordmaster of the Orient. (+)[1]TLN: For now, I’m not sure if the god called Chuck here is a known god/mythological figure. We’ll just have to wait for further information. The author literally wrote it like “척” + their title which is the swordmaster of the Orient only.
As a result, the assessment that it would be better to subscribe to gods who provide various additional abilities rather than Hang Woo began to emerge.
Thinking about this made him sigh.
“Heracles used to be below me.”
What’s worse, Heracles, who used to be below Hang Woo, was rising above him, causing Hang Woo trouble in many ways.
“At this rate, I could be pushed down to the bottom among the gods known for their power.”
The fight in the New World was a long battle. So among the gods who charged up at the beginning, there were quite a few cases like Hang Woo who were on a downward trend and struggling.
“The influx decreases, and subscriptions and likes decrease too.”
If he left it alone like this, a situation could arise where no one comes in.
“I need to analyze this. I have to check how Heracles did it to rise up.”
There wasn’t much to analyze for long.
There was only one reason why Heracles now had so many subscribers.
Subscription reviews.
“Just with subscription reviews? Hmm, reviews are certainly important, but still, they are subscription reviews.”
Hang Woo also had the same thoughts as other gods.
After all, weren’t subscription reviews something like impression pieces written after subscribing to a god?
How could such impression pieces turn the minds of demanding subscribers…
“How could… Of course, they could.”
Hang Woo was surprised.
Gods do not know exactly what abilities other gods possess.
No, they weren’t even interested enough to care in the first place. There was nothing so curious about it.
“Heracles’ breathing grants immunity to countless psychic attacks… With this, he would be able to resist attacks that shake the mind like fascination or charm. He could pretend to be hit and then counterattack.”
The hero Heracles envisioned was an unshakable existence that overcame countless trials and transcended even the mind, undisturbed by anything.
Perhaps because he had a history of being hit by psychic magic himself, Hero’s Breathing, which he taught, was an ability that allowed one to maintain composure in any situation.
If one built up proficiency properly, it was definitely the power to become the ideal hero Heracles spoke of.
“I can tell all this by watching the video.”
Hang Woo watched the subscription review.
He thought about what influence could one impression piece have, but as he watched the video, the judgment that his thoughts were wrong came naturally.
What ability can I gain by subscribing to this god?
How can I utilize the gained ability?
“Then my power is…”
At that moment, a notification rang for Hang Woo.
“[Only subscribed to the right gods]?”
It was the famous nickname of that subscriber.
“He already subscribed to me?”
The first line of the comment said he wanted to write a subscription review.
But the surprise only lasted a moment, and Hang Woo felt a strong discomfort.
You want to write a subscription review?
It felt like the nuance was that he was graciously doing him a favor. He was certainly a good subscriber who wrote good subscription reviews, but from the first sentence, Hang Woo felt irritated.
However, the following content was not in that nuance at all.
The next sentence first scratched Hang Woo’s itchy spot refreshingly.
– Not many know this, but Hang Woo is not just someone who cares only about power. You couldn’t have been called a supreme king with just strong power…
“Hmm! He can discern that. Other subscribers couldn’t even discern it.”
In fact, Hang Woo had many complaints.
He couldn’t be happy that subscribers thought of him as a god specialized only in attack.
He didn’t like it that they didn’t subscribe because they thought he relied solely on power, and he didn’t like it that they did subscribe for that same reason.
But this [Only subscribed to the right gods] was clearly piercing Hang Woo’s essence.
– The best defense is offense and the best offense is defense. I was deeply impressed by that ultimate unity of offense and defense.
Thinking that this subscriber recognized the subtlety of his abilities, the end of the path of power he had cultivated, Hang Woo unconsciously choked up.
“To understand me this much…”
Hang Woo’s intentions were fully contained in the videos he made with various meanings.
This subscriber was praising and enumerating one by one the meanings Hang Woo put into the videos.
This moved Hang Woo deeply.
“There was a saying, a gentleman dies for those who understand him.”
Hang Woo was already in the midst of being moved.
– So I want to write a subscription review, but
“Of course! By all means!”
With his heart already softened, Hang Woo kept reading.
– If you designate me as a premium subscriber, I will write a review with all my heart…
Even before finishing reading to the end, Hang Woo immediately designated [Only subscribed to the right gods] as a premium subscriber.
The benefit of being a premium subscriber was that he could watch all of Hang Woo’s uploaded videos for free.
“You are already my premium subscriber.”
Hang Woo laughed loudly as if lifting up a mountain.
Ethan, who left a message for Hang Woo, checked that Hong Gil Dong had uploaded new merchandise.
– Hong Gil Dong’s merchandise is available!
– Warning! All of Hong Gil Dong’s merchandise are stolen goods. Even the channel owner does not fully know their effects, as they are stolen items.
– View Hong Gil Dong’s merchandise.
“Ha.”
Ethan laughed in disbelief. He couldn’t help but laugh.
Certainly, Hong Gil Dong was a righteous thief who stole riches from corrupt officials and distributed them to the poor. But essentially, he could certainly be called a thief.
Wind Cloud and Great Thief’s Mastery.
Since he taught such great skills, Ethan expected there would be quite tremendous items among the merchandise.
For example, his stylish hat or clothes, wouldn’t it be okay to sell such things as merchandise?
Since Horus sold the outstanding Eye of Horus merchandise, expectations for Hong Gil Dong’s merchandise were unavoidable.
But stolen goods…
He never imagined merchandise would be sold stolen goods.
“Let me check first.”
Since it looked like Horus also uploaded new merchandise, it seemed he could look there too.
– Hong Gil Dong’s safe [an absolutely unbreakable safe]
– Hong Gil Dong’s dagger [a stolen item]
– Hong Gil Dong’s excellent silk [stolen from a corrupt official]
– Hong Gil Dong’s spellbook [requires video connection]
It was absurd. He couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Wow, they really are all stolen items.”
Among the numerous merchandise, there were only two that weren’t stolen. One was Hong Gil Dong’s safe, and the other was Hong Gil Dong’s spellbook.
“Since the spellbook requires video connection, if you buy it after watching the video, you can probably use it properly.”
In other words, there was only one decent item.
Hong Gil Dong’s safe.
“The safe is definitely not stolen goods. His own that he used?”
In addition, there was an indication on the safe.
– Provided for free to premium subscribers!
“Did they make some kind of agreement? The premium subscriber benefits are no joke.”
Continuously securing likes was not an easy task.
But since he would need [New World]’s help a lot in the future, when opportunities like this to save likes arose, they were always welcome.
With luck, he might be able to receive one for free.
Ethan chose the safe with a smile.
When it’s free, it’s best to receive it first and check it out later.
– You have selected Hong Gil Dong’s safe.
– You have purchased merchandise!
– Premium subscriber benefit!
– Hong Gil Dong’s safe is provided for free!
– The merchandise has been immediately issued.
After receiving the safe, Ethan immediately checked out the new merchandise Horus had posted.
“What’s this again?”
It wasn’t a directly usable item like the goods Horus had previously uploaded, which was the culmination of his abilities, the Eye of Horus.
– Hawk Head Crown [Cannot be worn, forms a barrier within a certain range. Allows for deeper insight into the movements of subjects within the barrier.]
It was quite a splendid crown.
“It can’t be worn? Hmm, seems to be an installation-type artifact since it can form a barrier.”
It seemed to synergize with the Eye of Horus.
“If I use the Eye of Horus to see through and then use the ability of this Hawk Head Crown, practically there’s no room for failure.”
However, this Hawk Head Crown seemed to lack practicality as it needed to be installed beforehand and retrieved separately.
“Unless I’m designing a battlefield.”
And like the others, this was provided to Ethan for free as a premium subscriber. Ethan also acquired the Hawk Head Crown.
After that, Ethan also checked to see if other gods had uploaded merchandise, but other gods still seemed to have no thoughts about merchandise.
‘Heo Jun’s merchandise would probably be good.’
– Hello Heo Jun.
Ethan immediately left Heo Jun a message. If possible, he wanted to have at least one piece of Heo Jun’s merchandise in this office.
Likewise, he left Heracles a separate message as well.
‘Lion fur merchandise or something might be good too.’
Merchandise was also an element that helped increase subscribers, so it would be good to make it if possible, was the advice he was thinking of giving.
If he got lucky, he might be able to receive one for free.
Tuduk-.
When he exited New World, a quite large Hawk Head Crown and Hong Gil Dong’s safe appeared in front of Ethan.
“This safe is bigger than I expected.”
Ethan first placed the safe in one area.
“But looking at this…”
Somehow the shape was very familiar.
Ethan immediately took out Frost Sword – Lea’s.
“I wonder if it’ll work.”
Then he gathered strength in the Frost Sword.
Shaaaa-.
Cold air began to spread throughout the entire office.
If he injected a bit more mana here, this cold air would freeze as it was.
Ethan concentrated the cold air on the safe. Then the safe, which had been lukewarm, quickly turned white.
“Hup.”
He exerted even more strength and spewed cold air at the safe with the Frost Sword.
When he felt like enough cold air had filled up, he stopped, and frost remained adhered to the safe.
“A great safe. With this much, anything I put in should be safely protected.”
But Ethan had no intention of using this safe for its original purpose.
After properly placing the cold air-filled safe in one area and opening the door
Shaaaah-
The inside of the safe was filled with cold air.
“Hmm!”
Ethan took out a flask from his inventory space with a satisfied look.
Inside this flask was a drink.
It was tea sold at the coffee house, which tasted very good when drank cold.
“Fridge complete.”
– Aesthetic score rises!
