Suddenly, I Can Duplicate Money - Chapter 33
“W… what the fuck is happening?”
Hannah, who was about to close her eyes could not help but widen them instead as the notifications kept in her phone kept on popping. The bell icon that showed how many notifications she had now has a red dot on it. First, it had the number 1 on it, then 2, then 3… until it stopped at “10+”, but the vibrations never stopped.
Although she was used to having her notification pop as soon as she finished uploading since she had more than a million subscribers already, it was never like this.
She… didn’t mistakenly upload the photo of her and Yun Hao together, did she!? With this thought, Hannah hesitated no longer as her finger pressed the notification icon. Of course, the very first comment was a comment saying “first”, the second one, however, was a legit comment.
[Is this THE Yun Hao?]
Reading this and knowing that she didn’t mistakenly upload the photo of them together, Hannah let out a long and deep sigh of relief. But after a few seconds, she continued reading the comments.
[I already watched til the end, this is Yun Hao!]
[so thats why he was suddenly gone. smh this is why cultivators should have their own country]
[still remember this dude’s first match, didn’t even punch the first round then completely decimated his opponent with one punch as soon as the 2nd round started. This guy will be a monster]
[who is that cultivator? ngl i think he did all the other upcoming boxers a favor]
[Should have dropped the cultivator’s name!]
[So that’s why he suddenly disappeared, could’ve been the GOAT]
[lmao he became a cultivator? gg cultivators]
[is this guy famous?]
[lol you have no idea. This guy’s a monster]
Hannah completely sat up straight from her bed as she read all the comments that were popping out even now. With the way things are going, this video would probably be her most viral video yet, the share notifications were also going crazy. In truth, she was supposed to upload this a week later to avoid any privacy issues, but she was just too excited since she knew it might be something special…
…But to think Yun Hao was this famous? It would seem that Hannah really hit it big this time. Hannah could not help but let out a small chuckle as she returned to bed, tomorrow is going to be a great day. She could only imagine how many views and shares the video will have by the time she wakes up.
And so, with all that in mind, Hannah was going to end her day with a smile of satisfaction.
But once again, before she could close her eyes, another notification popped out; but this time, it was a different sound. It was the sound of her InstaPound account, where she posts all some artsy photos of different sceneries she takes a photo of when she ventures outside the Danger Zones.
“…” With a gulp, Hannah once again sat up from the bed as her trembling finger pressed the notification, only to find out that her initial guess truly did happen– she uploaded the photo of her and Yun Hao together. She quickly deleted the photo from InstaPound, almost making a hole in her phone in the process, but who knows…
…some people might have already seen it.
“Oh, fuck.”
***
“F… fuck.”
Yun Hao found himself feeling all sorts of pain in his body as he woke up face-first on the cold hard ground.
“Uh,” he could hear his bones cracking and snapping all over the place as he tried to stand up. Judging from the light that was sipping from the holes in his house, it was already morning outside. Hannah said that his body would transition in the span of 24 hours, did he just sleep through half of it?
Judging by the pain all over his body, he probably did. Today was the day he was coming back to Tsinghai Highschool, wasn’t it?
His long and deep sigh mixed with the cracking of his bones as he sat his way to his bed. One of the reasons he wanted to become a cultivator was to no longer fear Long Yazhu and his exaggeratingly wealthy… capabilities. Even if the Long Yazhu’s family was not a Cultivator family, they had enough money and influence to be able to hire cultivators as their security.
Suffice to say, they probably even secretly own Tsinghai Highschool. He wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case since they own almost all the prime real estate in the country. That would probably explain why his coach and all the teachers there were treating him badly, Long Yazhu probably said something. If not… then they were probably all just douchebags– Yun Hao doesn’t know what’s worse.
Yun Hao’s first reason to become a Cultivator was so that he could live freely. And now that he finally had the ability to go to the school without fearing for his life that Long Yazhu had become a cultivator already, for some reason, he doesn’t really see the purpose of going to school anymore.
He is a cultivator now, add to the fact that he had a very special ability that could potentially make him even wealthier than Long Yazhu’s family… everything just seemed so mundane. Yun Hao thought for a while as to how he would proceed, and after a few seconds, he slightly scoffed and shook his head.
There was no use in coming to school anymore, at least not that school. But just for today, he will attend. He will attend and officially quit and drop out of the school of his own volition. He decided he wasn’t going to let the bastards in Tsinghai Highschool get the satisfaction of kicking him out.
And so, with that thought, even with his body still slightly in pain, he started to get dressed. But before he could take 3 steps towards his drawer, he finally remembered something.
He was doing something very important before passing out– he was trying to duplicate a Beast Core; that was why he fainted in the first place.
Yun Hao’s eyes then quickly scanned his minuscule home for any signs of the Beast Core. He didn’t have to search long, however, as he quickly found it near the stack of coins he had on the corner of the room. It must’ve rolled off from his hand when he fainted, he thought as he once again continued to search for another Beast Core.
But alas, after almost 10 minutes of searching his small house, there wasn’t a sign of another Beast Core.
Did… did he fail in duplicating it? Does that mean the Beast Cores couldn’t be duplicated?
No, he wouldn’t have fainted from using his powers if it couldn’t. It was most probably because he didn’t even know the basics of how the Cores worked in the first place.
With that disappointing thought, Yun Hao could not help but also release a disappointed sigh as he made his way to his drawer to get dressed, placing the Beast Core back into the pouch that Hannah also gave him.
He couldn’t say he wasn’t pissed off that it didn’t work, and it showed when he opened the drawer, accidentally using a bit more force than usual.
“…”
Okay, maybe it was just not a little bit, Yun Hao thought as the whole drawer flew 3 meters away, almost threatening to wreck his whole house if it had hit the wall.
“Holy shit,” Yun Hao breathed as he looked at his left hand. Maybe perhaps because he slept through half of the transition period, but it would seem that his body was starting to… change. Although his drawer was small, it wasn’t light. It was one of those antique drawers that weighed more than it should, which he was able to salvage as soon as he was thrown in the scrapyard.
To think he was able to throw something like that without any effort. Sure, he would still be able to throw it when he was just a human… but he wasn’t even trying to do so earlier. And to think he was still just at the earliest stage.
The smile that was already growing on Yun Hao’s face grew even faster. One could only imagine how strong he would become once he started training and absorbed more Beast Cores.
It was just too bad that he wasn’t able to duplicate the Beast Core he had right now. No matter, he could legally buy Beast Cores now since he was a cultivator anyway. Just duplicate something else to sell, then buy Beast Cores with it.
And so, with that thought, Yun Hao walked to his slightly wrecked drawer and grabbed his uniform. He started to get dressed, but as soon as he took off his shirt, he heard a small clanging noise dropping near his feet.
“…” Yun Hao quickly looked to see what it was, only to see the Beast Core rolling on the ground.
“Fuck,” Yun Hao could not help but curse as he picked up the Beast Core. It was the only one he had, so it would truly be a waste to lose it. And so, once again, he securely placed it back inside the pouch that was given to her by Hannah…
…only to see another Beast Core already peacefully resting there.
“….Holy shit.”
