Super Hint System: Everyone is a Cultivator - Chapter 23
“Ha! All the strength that I have not felt in a long time has returned!” Constantine threw down the level-one warrior who had already stopped breathing and stood up with a look of enjoyment on his face.
Adams sized up Constantine, whose body had returned to normal. He quietly pushed down Vivian’s hand that was holding the scroll and asked in a low voice, “So you’re a level-three warrior. Looks like you aren’t an ordinary guide, much less a judge. Who exactly are you?”
Constantine turned around and looked at Adams with admiration. He then said with a smile, “It’s rare to have such discerning judgement at your age! However, you don’t have to make wild guesses. I am indeed Judge Constantine, just that I hid my strength!”
Adams didn’t relax just because of Constantine’s explanation. He asked warily, “We should set off now, shouldn’t we? Those Wanderers have left for some time now. If we don’t hurry there, we won’t be able to stop them in time!”
“No rush! We need to do something big first!” Constantine ignored Adams’s wariness and spoke to him in a commanding tone. Then, he turned around and walked back to the control room.
Looking at Constantine who seemed to have changed into a different person, Vivian asked with concern, “Adams, do you think this person is trustworthy? What should we do next?”
Adams said without hesitation, “Of course he can’t be trusted, but he must have some secrets on him. Let’s follow him and take a look! However, his relationship with the military must be deep. Before we find out his motive, don’t expose the military magic scrolls in our hands!”
Vivian nodded, put the scroll away, and followed Adams.
There were no other cultivators left on the spacecraft. Constantine took care of a few ordinary people before he walked into the control room and started fiddling with the controls with ease.
Adams, who had followed him in, studied Constantine thoughtfully and asked, “What are you doing?”
Without turning his head, Constantine replied to him, “Of course it’s to shut down the weapons on the spacecraft. Fortunately, I know the password. Otherwise, once the magic equipment on the military spaceships enters the black market, it’ll be a devastating disaster!”
Hearing another term that he didn’t understand, Adams turned to look at Vivian out of habit and asked, “Magic equipment?”
Vivian immediately comprehended and said, “Nowadays, in order to increase their strength, cultivators often have a sub-vocation. Mages usually hold sub-vocations in the Enchanter profession. Low-level Mages can make magic scrolls, while high-level Mages can make magic equipment!
“The difference between the two is that magic scrolls are one-time consumables, while magic equipment can be used multiple times and are even more powerful. In particular, if it is installed on an aviation object, it can greatly increase its long-range attack power and aerial attack power!”
Adams recalled the planes on Earth and couldn’t help but sigh and wonder, “Why does it sound like a missile?”
Vivian nodded and said, “Magic equipment is similar to missiles and cannons. However, humans have far too little resources now, so they’re no longer enough to make artillery shells and bullets. Therefore, since hundreds of years ago, Magic equipment has completely replaced artillery shells as they require relatively fewer materials to produce!”
Adams was very surprised. He did not expect the technological development of this world to be so similar to Earth’s, making him feel a sense of familiarity.
By this time, Constantine had finished operating the controls. He turned around and walked back to the locker not far from the console. He raised his hand and typed a code into the combination lock.
Swoosh!
A locker opened and Constantine took out a golden double-edged axe from there. Just based on its gorgeous appearance, one could tell that it was an S-rank weapon.
Constantine weighed the axe in his hand and nodded in satisfaction.
Adams couldn’t help but remind him from the side, “Hey! Although this spacecraft was looted by the Wanderers, it still belongs to the military. Is what you’re doing considered stealing military supplies?”
Waving the giant axe in his hand, Constantine turned around and said with a smile, “Let me tell you something. No matter what it is, once it is lost or stolen from the Empire, it will be considered an ownerless item. It will become the personal possession of anyone who gets their hands on it. This is a rule acknowledged by the Empire!”
Adams was ecstatic upon hearing this. He already had some speculations about Constantine’s true identity, so the information he provided was most likely true. He turned to Vivian with a relieved expression, and said, “Alright, there’s no need for us to hide anymore!”
Vivian pursed her lips and nodded, understanding what Adams meant.
Constantine brows knitted together as he did not understand the meaning behind Adams’ words. However, the next second, he saw both Adams and Vivian raise their hands at the same time. They were both wearing dazzling quantum rings on their hands!
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
A gust of wind blew past Constantine’s ears. At the same time, everything around him that could be moved disappeared.
“W-what did you guys do?” Constantine asked in disbelief as he stared at Adams and Vivian in shock.
Adams smiled and said, “According to you, aren’t the things here ownerless? Of course we want to collect more valuable resources!”
Constantine seethed with anger. He said through clenched teeth, “It’s fine if you just collect the resources, why did you have to take away the lockers and data box as well?”
“We don’t have a password, so we can only keep the boxes too so that we can try to open them when we’re free!” Adams said with a shrug.
“You!”
Constantine was so furious that he nearly raised his axe and charged at Adams. However, he suppressed the anger in his heart and said to Adams, “You can take the things here, but you guys have to follow me to the Scarlet Cave to stop those Wanderers!
“Furthermore, you two better remember that I am a level-three warrior. I have the ability to kill you at any time, so don’t even think about running away!”
Adams pulled out the Winter Sword from his waist. The magnificent glow was not inferior to that of Constantine’s golden axe. He smiled and said, “Of course. We can set off anytime!”
Constantine stared deeply at Adams and realized that he could not figure him out.
How can an ordinary person who has just attended the coming-of-age ceremony remain calm in front of me? What does he get that confidence?
However, Constantine didn’t bother too much about it, as this trip to the Scarlet Cave was very dangerous. Even he might not survive, let alone Adams and Vivian.
If Adams is lucky enough to survive in the end, what’s the harm in letting him take some resources?
“Hmph! Let’s set off then!”
Constantine let out a snort, then turned and walked towards the outside of the ship.
