Super Nanites - Chapter 10: CHAPTER 10: Kill and Ground contact
As he neared the door the footsteps from the back are also clearly approaching him, as he watched from the views that two goons had just entered the cabin pushing through the curtains and lifted their guns as soon as they saw him escaping towards the door.
Alex’s pupils shrank and his breathing became calm as his mind went into override, he felt as if everything was moving in slow motion, as he calmly reached his hand towards the door and he dashed inside, tackling the old man onto the ground as soon as the door opened.
Bang!…Bang!…Bang!…Bang!crack…
After he fell down onto the ground with the old man, he heard gunshots and the sound of broken glass. The door then closed and locked itself automatically, barring the goons from entering the cockpit.
As soon as the door closed, Alex took the surgical blade from the hands of the old man and moved away from him as he was holding his head and writhing in agony as little drops of blood flowed from his eyes and nose.
“Help me!”
Aaaahhhh!!!
The old man screamed wretchedly for a few seconds and twisted in agony. Eventually, he frothed from his mouth as the whites of his eyes showed up and he fell unconscious, with Nanites at work he will be dead in a few more seconds.
Alex inhaled and exhaled sharply as he felt the rush of emotions from the life and death situation. His entire body was drenched in sweat, and it felt chilly with the cold air coming from the air conditioning. Even though he had planned it all inside his mind, planning and executing them is totally different.
He put the surgical blade on the deck, stood up and looked at the co-pilot who had a bullet punctured through his head as his lifeless body fell forward onto the controllers. Splatters of blood covered the windshield, while a glaring bullet depression was left on to the glass with a bullet wedged into it.
He looked at the messed up cockpit as bodies were just lying around the entire place consisting of two flight attendants, pilots, and the hijacker. The whole cockpit looked like a slaughterhouse, with blood and bodies strewn around. Weirdly, Alex didn’t feel any discomfort aside from the first time looking at the lifeless bodies and was watching around with a dull gaze.
Bam…Thud…Thud
When he heard the thudding sounds from outside the cabin, he got his bearings back and looked through the security feed cam, only to see the hijackers were banging on the door and shouting while looking at the camera. He sighed and made the Nanites return to his mobile.
As he was about to call the emergency number, he stopped as he noticed from one of his visions that the mature lady hijacker took out a satellite mobile and spoke on it. But, she was talking in code language, which he wasn’t able to understand. In a few seconds, she cut the call, threw the connector away and then proceeded to walk towards the back of the plane and opened the hatch to the cargo hold.
Then, she got down the hatch and walked towards a corner where a metal board was fixed. She moved the board away and shockingly, there was a bomb inside the small space. She then pressed on a button and activated the bomb, the bomb activated silently and the timer display showed.
1:59:59
Alex, who watched this whole thing was shocked to the core. The amount of shocks he received in this short time is making him speechless. How they could get guns and bombs inside a plane with tight securities is mind-boggling to him. He didn’t hesitate and called the airport emergency services when the radio contact came to life.
Bzzt…Bzzt.
‘Air control Houston to flight Charlie’
‘Air control Houston to flight Charlie’
Alex sprang towards the radio while cutting the call, as he scrambled to put on the headset and spoke. “Hello, hey, can you hear me?”.
He waited for the answer, but the ATC didn’t reply and still repeated the code.
‘Air control Houston to flight Charliedo you copy’
‘I repeat…Air control Houston to flight Charliedo you copy’
Alex then looked at the controls and noticed a switchboard named radio contact. He looked for any button that may connect to the ATC and saw two buttons with Com1 and Com 2. He pressed on them, praying that they are the correct switches and spoke into the mic, “Hello, can you hear me?. I am a passenger speaking from flight AF-77. Our plane is hijacked”.
Just as he finished speaking, the ATC operator replied back with visible shock and confusion in his voice: “Flight charlie, can you..repeat what you just said??”
Alex shouted into the mic, “I am a fucking passenger of flight AF-77, our plan is hijacked and the pilots are dead”. He exhaled slowly, calming his emotions and frustration at the situation.
This time the voice changed and a more calm and patient voice replied: “I hear you loud and clear. This is Jake, the chief control officer of the flight tower. Can you identify yourself”.
“My name is Alexander Sol Invictus and I am a first-class passenger of flight AF-77. I was taking rest when I heard a scream from the front cabin……..and luckily I was able to duck when the shots fired and took the hijacker down and that’s how I am here”. Replied Alex as he gave them a brief understanding of the situation.
“So, there are six hijackers, four of them armed with guns, and are now pounding on the door to get it open,” Asked Jake.
Sighing weakly, Alex spoke, “Yes, and with pilots dead and attendants too, I don’t know what to do anymore.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Alex, we will guide you through the situation. We have contacted the NDE (NAtional Department for Emergencies) they have sent the air force on your way to assist you”. Replied Jake.
Alex sighed and replied, “Can you tell me how to contact the passengers outside of the cockpit. I want to let them know that the cockpit is secured and we will land soon”. Then his voice became passionate and unyielding, “Listen clearly, If we don’t have any chances of landing the plane safely, I hope the air force shoots us down before we reach any populated places. I will die proudly than to crash on any other populated places”.
The People over the ATC went silent, as tears welled up in their eyes and their blood burned with passion and pride at the young man that was prepared to give his life for the sake of not harming others.
Jake replied strongly, “I will tell them, and you won’t die and no one on the plane AF-77 will die, everyone will land safely by any miracle and we will do this together”. Now listen carefully, as we don’t have much time, the plane is fuelled to fly for 6 hours straight. First, we need to know the aircraft’s location and its cruising speed, and at which altitude it is traveling. We need to know everything to build a model of the plane and plan on how to help you”.
Then, Jake instructed Alex on how to establish a secure connection from the cockpit by connecting to a wired data network that connects the device to a secured internal link from the flight to the ground station, which can help in uninterrupted communication through devices.
Alex followed the instructions and connected the device to the link, and a small screen on the right corner of the cockpit lit up.
“Okay, done. I can see you on the screen, and I hope you guys are mentally prepared to watch the deceased”. Alex said as he saw their looks were tense and their eyes conveyed pitying emotions as they watched the young face of Alex on their giant screen.
An older looking bald man spoke, “Hello Alex, I am jake. Can you show us the bodies of the deceased pilots and attendants”. Alex nodded and he took the device into his hands and changed the camera mode to the rear camera.
retch…x*
As the camera showed people’s bloody and lifeless bodies, some people puked on the spot, and others tried to hold the puke as they turned around unable to watch the bloodshed. Alex turned the camera around, stopping them from seeing more.
After a few seconds of silence, Jake replied, “I am sorry for that. Now can you turn the camera towards the controls and let our experts see and record the information”. Alex did as he was told and for a few seconds, he slowly moved the device across all the controls and panels to let them record and know the flight’s situation.
Alex watched on as the expressions of experts changed from tense to relaxed. They gesture wildly, speaking some technical terms. In the end, they nodded at Jake and he spoke to Alex, “Good news Alex, the plane is set onto autopilot towards the Flemington, so it will follow the flight path without fail, except for any weather changes and turbulences the plane will fly on the predetermined flight path. So you..don..fea..abo.”.
