At that instant, a large amount of information appeared inside Alexander’s head. He clutched his head and groaned weakly. This pain is average compared to hellish pain he went through.

After a few seconds, the information and the pain stopped. Alexander had an incredulous look on his face after he understood the importance of the information he received.

Alexander was brought back from his thoughts as he heard the voice designating him a code of the command.

His fists gripped tightly and an uncontrollable joy emerged on his face. The voice inside his head came from Nano-robots. Not the present earth technological Nano-bots, these are made by a very advanced unknown civilization. Though the Nano-bots or Nanites as popularly referred to couldn’t tell any more information about them as they are damaged during their millions of years of travel in space.

During a great war, the Nanite’s primary body source got destroyed, and they were left to drift for endless years in space. During all the years of space-damage and the radiations of endless years, their molecular compounds got destroyed slowly. Until they fell on earth, their source of Nanites got shrunk to only a fist-sized, and that is why they could only bind to a palm-sized device.

They are very powerful Nanites, and they can reproduce endlessly as long they have enough materials and energy. They are made with the thinking of self-replication and endless creation. From what information the Nanites send to Alex, their creators made them with the purpose of instant reproduction of things, during wars they are used on the spaceships.

Any damage done to the ship can be instantly mended as long the Nanites are given enough materials. And as they were designed for spaceships, they were made using very advanced materials, as they withstood millions of years of space-radiations and still worked in the end.

As their creators felt these Nanites might go out of control if they are programmed with an Advanced A.I, they only left simple protocol commands that the bots will adhere to, in case of the absence of a Commander.

That is the reason why they didn’t absorb and expand themselves during these years, but only drifted in space until they fell on earth and found Alex.

Due to some weird twist of fate, Alex, who was at the end of his life and Nanites at the end of their working conditions met on that fateful day. To save his life, the Nanites initiated an emergency protocol and bound Alex as its Commander and merged with his body.

The merging with an organic body is how the Nanites will designate the being as its Commander and it will allow the Nanites to be Controlled by the being. They are controlled by thoughts or a psionic technology, which is beyond Alex’s understanding. The Nanites have the central controller which is bound with Alex with which he can control sub-modular Nanites that are outside of his body.

But, as they are all just a set of molecular structures combined, they don’t have the weakness of the central controller being destroyed and the remaining Nanites losing control.

Unless Alex dies ultimately, only then the Nanites will go rogue and wait for another organic body to get bound as Commander. But, due to severe damage taken by Alex’s body, the Nanites had to repair his body by absorbing his cells and bone marrow, and use themselves as a replacement for the damage, in a sense they both merged and are one and the same.

Alex was sorting through the entire information, the more he understood it, the more excited he got thinking about future prospects. The fear he had of someone coming after his life is gone and his eyes once again shone with clarity and confidence that he used to show before.

After a while, he calmed down and opened the lock and went outside the bathroom. He looked at the mobile being charged and his eyes shined with curiosity, but he held back from diving straight into the device and uncovering its uses.

He looked at the time and it was approaching four p.m. It was then that he remembered his day saying he will bring the lunch upstairs. He hurriedly grabbed the towel lying on the ground and cleaned the pool of sweat on the floor and cleaned it neatly.

He then took out a clean towel and a new set of clothes and entered the bathroom to take a good shower.

Inside the shower, Alex turns on the dial as warm water pours down, it drips on his side, as his mind fades into dullness and everything appears to be a foggy illusion. The sensation of the steamy water calmed him; it took away all the fears and anxieties he had. It’s as if the water had magical powers it swirled all his negative emotions and took them away from him and into the drain and it’s like he was standing under an everlasting waterfall. Ever so beautiful, but it can never last. He had to fight even harder and more fiercely than ever before, for he knew what he has is a game-changer not only for him and his family but even more so for the entire earth.

He slowly stepped out of the blind with a towel around his waist, but the fog made it unclear to truly see his body. He reached for the robe, wore it and walked out of the bathroom, as he stepped out, he heard knocks on his door.

Knock…knock…

“Alex, its me dad. I brought your lunch”. Came the voice of Jonathan from the other side of the door.

“I am coming dad”, replied Alex as he walked lightly towards the door while rubbing his wet hair with a towel.

He unlocked the door and opened it and saw his dad holding a tray in his right hand.

Alex smiled and went forward to take the tray from his hand and spoke, “come inside dad. Thanks for bringing the food”.

“No problem lad”, I will go take my afternoon nap, be sure to eat the entire contents, your mother made it extra careful with full of nutrients.

“Hahaha…I will eat it entirely, dad” said Alex as he smiled at his dad. Only after seeing that smile, did Jonathan’s face visibly relaxed and he was relieved that his son was doing well.

After handing the food, Jonathan walked towards the bedroom to take a rest. At the same time, Alex closed his door and placed the food on the table.

Alex looked at his mobile or the Nanites and was very excited as he must be the first human to ever come into contact with alien stuff, even if it’s just a metal of Nanites.

He raised his and reached out towards his mobile like beckoning it. Then, the most astonishing thing happened.

The solid mobile that was placed on the table suddenly….
