Chapter 534: Chapter 528: Get Lost – Part 2
“If you don’t want to get married, fine. I don’t want to marry you either! You have the nerve to shout at me!” Suddenly, with an audible slap, David Hale exploded in anger, instantly hurling onto Faye Shepherd’s chest a handful of documents his right hand was holding. A stack of papers began to flutter around. Faye instinctively caught a piece of paper; by chance, it was a printed photo, a snapshot from CCTV footage of Faye intimately entering a hotel room with another man. The timestamp was clearly visible on the photo.
Faye’s face instantly turned pale. She lowered her head to glance at the other scattered papers on the floor and noticed a hospital examination report detailing the precise days of pregnancy. Apparently, it wasn’t the one she had forged.
“What’s going on? What’s happening?” People nearby instantly surrounded them. These were Faye’s relatives, along with their bodyguards and servants. Some of Faye’s family members held back the guests at a distance, while others rushed to her.
“You tell me, in front of your family, whose child is this? Do you dare say it’s mine? Huh?” David Hale’s face contorted with rage, “And you said that our first night together was also your first time. This surgical record for reconstruction here, is this fake too?” He threw another paper at her.
Faye’s relatives were clearly taken aback, but at least a few of them seemed to know something; their expressions remained unchanged even after hearing David Hale’s words, instead looking at him with continued contempt.
“David Hale! Let me tell you today, this child isn’t yours! So what? I’m also telling you, I’m no saint. I’ve slept with other men, so what? What do you want? What can you do? You’re a pauper. You think without you I’d be at a loss? Look at your poverty-stricken family, and take a good look at yourself in the mirror. You’re not worthy! Since you want to know so badly, yes, all these things are true. So what?” Faye regained her calm, gazed shamelessly at David Hale with a swaggering look on her face, and spoke out defiantly.
“Haha.” David Hale suddenly let out a faint laugh. After everyone was momentarily stunned, he retorted coolly, “I might be nothing, but I’m not marrying you. We haven’t even got the marriage certificate yet. As for you, I treated it as a few months of free fun. Can I? Marrying you? You’re dreaming. Now, I’m telling you, we’re breaking up. As for the rest, I consider it as someone offering free companionship. Is that alright for you? Even if a woman lets me use her for free and looks just ordinary, I don’t mind.”
“…And, after we break up, when this news gets out, everyone will be all praises for me. As for you, who knows who’d want to marry you.” After finishing, David Hale sized Faye up and down.
“Well done!” Daniel Pan outside couldn’t hold back his praise for David Hale. Damn, they had just worried needlessly. His words were domineering! There are many other fish in the sea; a woman like her is just for play.
“Won’t marry?!” David Hale’s words directly hit Faye’s Achilles heel, she screamed sharply, “Today’s wedding will happen whether you like it or not. You’re leaving just like that? How much money have you spent on us during this period? You said you’d spend it and that was it?”
David Hale’s face turned sour; some things were inevitable. Although he was not willing to spend that much, most of it was split between them, and part of it was spent on things for Faye. The total he had spent on himself was just a few tens of thousands of yuan.
“I’ll pay you back!” David Hale said with a grim face.
“Pay back? With what? You, or your dirt-poor parents?” The veneer was stripped away and Faye stared at David Hale, her face full of mockery.
“Just that little bit of money? You really think David Hale can’t pay you back?” Daniel Pan outside shouted without thinking, secretly giving a thumbs-up to Faye. Damn it, she really knows how to cooperate. Dig her own grave, and she can’t blame anyone else.
Daniel’s words drew everyone’s attention. Before Faye could say anything, the roaring sound of car engines echoed from far away. It was unusual for cars to drive to this area. Although there was a road not far from the lawn, cars were generally parked in parking lots. However, the procession of cars approaching soon left everyone in awe—they recognized the brand, Ice Horse, each worth at least four million yuan. Not to mention, there weren’t just one, but an immaculate line of fifteen identical cars.
The convoy of vehicles did not stop until three of them arrived at the wedding reception. Upon seeing the extended Ice Horse Quadriga in the middle of the fleet, the crowd gasped in astonishment. They eagerly began whispering among themselves about this mysterious arrival who commanded a wealth that far exceeded Faye’s family’s.
David Hale was stupefied and clueless about the unexpected grandeur. However, when the doors of the Quadriga opened, and his two parents stepped out of an Ice Horse, David Hale was left dumbfounded. He did recognize his parents, but… what was going on?
What was going on?! David Hale was utterly confused. However, after David’s father alighted from the car, he walked over with an iron face, free of any confusion. Before David could react, his father was already in front of him. Without another word, he slapped David.
With a crisp slap, everyone turned to look at David. But before he has a chance to respond, a more mind-blowing event unfolds—David’s father, angered, lashed out, “You twit! How can you embarrass us like this? You just abandon your fiancée for some other woman during your own wedding? Scholar Lewis is such a nice girl, yet you just left her? Can you explain this?”
David’s father was not speaking Mandarin, but in their dialect. Though it was dialect, it was not hard to understand, so many of the people got the gist of it. After scolding David, his father took out two red booklets from his pocket and threw them at David. When the two booklets landed on the ground, even Daniel and his mates were dumbfounded.
